New Orleans, Louisiana
Located in the New Marigny neighborhood just 6 blocks away from the French Quarter. Hop on the new Rampart St Streetcar line and go to the CBD or Garden District, catch a 5 minute cab ride to the famous Frenchman Street, or just walk to the Quarter. This is a 100-year old charming New Orleans home with separate bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen and washing machine/dryer. Spacious back yard with benches and chairs will help you to relax after long days exploring our beautiful city. Enjoy!
Planned a bachelor party weekend here for myself and 9 others. The house is massive and was plenty of room for all of us. There is sufficient privacy as well and Tetiana did not bother us one bit. My one complaint is that the surrounding area near the house is a little unsightly. The roads definitely need repaved. However, we were able to walk down to the French Quarter in a matter of minutes and we never felt unsafe — even in small groups. I highly recommend this house and Tetiana as a host!
We were a group of 10 with 6 coming into New Orleans at 11:30 and 4 coming in at 3. The hostess was very accommodating to our needs. She was very quick to respond to our messages. Everyone loved this house it gas so much character and charm. We had the best time. Walking distance to Bourbon St. Liquor store and grocery story in walking distances as well. Thank you again there was fun had by all!
This was a great spot for our group of 10 adults. Very spacious and accomodating. Tetiana was probably the most responsive and attentive host we have had at a rental property. We did need to contact her several times when needing more pillows, toilet paper, and help getting the heat going. She even supplied a new toaster when it died! We found the neighborhood safe to walk in groups as she advised and walked to the Green Room restaurant on her recommendation. One caveat: 2 of the middle bedrooms need some window dressing attention. The rod in the yellow room was rusted and broken so our curtain was at half mast. The bedroom next to our was also subject to a very bright neighborhood security light at night. A couple more pillows and some wine glasses would round this rental out nicely. The downstairs neighbor that a previous reviewer mentioned is gone so not to worry about smoke and noise in the back bedrooms!
We enjoyed our stay at the White House and Tetianna was a lovely host very communicative and approachable. We were a party of 5 and found the house had everything we needed with lots of space. We hadn't realised that the garden was shared with tenants living below the main floor of the house but this didn't impact our stay particularly. The area is charming with lots of unique quirky houses but some may feel a bit unsafe if walking alone at night. Overall it was a lovely stay.
Check in process was super simple. Owner responded to messages quickly. We had an issue with the hot water, and it was addressed within an hour. Ok now the bad, house needs curtains, several of the windows don't have any,and the ones that do are shire,or don't cover the window completely. Maybe it wouldn't be an issue, but some of the windows are in the bathrooms and the surrounding houses are close..kitchen has ample cups, plates, and flatware, but only one old small skillet for a 5 bedroom house. The owner really needs to dispose of old things past guest have felt in the refrigerator, and cabinets.. All of the bedding in the house is old,and should be replaced. Two back bedroom mattresses should be replaced, and don't sleep in those if you don't like cigarette smoke, as downstairs neighbor lights up frequently, and smoke fills those two rooms. Lastly the front bathroom doors don't close securely, unless your 6 foot 2 ,and can reach the top latch. The house just needs someone who cares about the details.
Enjoy this beautiful home, a real feel of New Orleans.
Great spot for a big group. Would stay again!
Great living space and large bedrooms and bathrooms. Good water pressure in the showers. A great host who was very responsive!
Location close to the French quarter and Bourbon street. Plenty of room for the four of us. Great communication with the property manager.
We all enjoyed the beautiful house. The owner was very quick with responding to questions and there if we needed. She was also nice to include a list of suggested bars and places to go. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us to stay.
