This charming Two-level Victorian is spacious and has been built in 2018. Although Victorian homes have been part of Black Hills history since miners started building mining towns—there are only two in Hill City. Only one is available for rent. Set in downtown, walking distance from everything, this two-story, 1400-square-foot, narrow-gauge memory-maker puts you right where the action is. Newly constructed in 2018, it’s immaculate and modern inside. Sleeps 4 adults with two king-size bedrooms, two full baths, full kitchen, and two turrets—one for the living room and the other for dining—allow this charmer to sleep four. Enjoy the outside covered patio/dining area, along with handy, off-street parking for four cars. Owners live nearby, and someone can usually be there within 30 minutes—often less. The house is stocked with linens, pots and pans, dishes, and small appliances. Grocery store and Dollar General are located within two-minutes’ drive. Check-in is at 3:00. check- in can be flexible at times. We want you to love your visit as much as we love our town. We’re pretty sure you’ll be back. THE HILL CITY EXPERIENCE Let’s get you acclimated with what “downtown” means. Two doors down is a bicycle rental/fix-it shop, which helps you get to 109 miles of the Mickelson Trail, right across the street. In less than a minute’s walk, you can ride the state’s only steam-powered passenger train, visit the South Dakota State Railroad Museum, the world’s largest private fossil research facility and museum, four art galleries and specialty shops, two adventure shops, chocolate and ice cream parlors, one wine-tasting room, and several stores with a wide variety of goods. You also have your choice of tourist-oriented fare, including Black Hills Gold. Within three minutes’ walk, you have your choice of seven restaurants. Just outside the pedestrian district, and within a few miles in each direction, there are even more specialty shops, wineries and tasting rooms, saloons, and more. Hill City…it’s a thing. FURTHER Visitors can park in the driveway and stay put for their whole trip—or hit the road to one of the area’s natural attractions. Roger Brooks, nationally-known branding expert, has called the Black Hills area the nation’s most “attractive” place—when it comes to the number of things to do. Don’t forget Custer State Park to Devil’s Tower, Black Elk Peak, the Needle’s Highway, or our area caves, including Jewel Cave, with the third-longest passages in the world. Explore agate-hunting beds, go fishing, hunting, hiking, horse-back riding, biking, snowmobiling, ATVing, and whatever else you can think of. Keep in mind that the Secretary of Tourism has called Hill City the state’s arts mecca, which has contributed to its reputation. This gives Hill City its own “experience,” and allows it to stand out from other small towns and villages in the region. With its position in the middle of the Black Hills, it provides easy access to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorials (each 15 minutes away), and Deadwood to the north and Hot Springs to the south (each 45 to 60 minutes away, depending on traffic). You’ll also meet thousands of motorcycle riders in early August, attendees of the world’s largest bike rally—but that can get a little loud. Other sounds include the steam train whistle from across the street, and an artistic chainsaw artist who works in the afternoons across the alley. There are also musicians who play on the street, along with summer festivals and events. Please check the doorbells placed outside the main doors. Give it a ring and welcome your visitors. Check the Chamber of Commerce website for details.

Great home! the communication with the hosts was excellent. We were visiting the area for the first time and the location could not have been better, so easy to get to Custer State Park, Custer City, Spearfish, Deadwood and even Devil's Tower. The home was very clean and there were many options for good places to eat within walking distance. Would stay there again.

This property is located in the heart of Hill City. Each morning we enjoyed watching the 1880 train get ready for the day from the front windows. We enjoyed an easy walk to the 1880 train and the unique dining and shopping that Hill City offers. The property is conveniently located near Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Jewel Cave, Custer, and Keystone. We enjoyed the easy on-site parking and the comfortable king beds in each of the bedrooms.

Second trip to this location. I love this house, it is as described and pictured in the listing. Very clean and the amenities are perfect for a relaxing stay. The beds are comfortable and towels are plush. The location is perfect to see everything in the area. My husband loved the easy entrance to the Mickelson trail from the house. I loved the shopping and restaurants in the city and taking the train to Keystone. Kim and Ross are so cordial and responds fast to any questions you may have about Hill City. I can’t wait for my next adventure!

The location of this house is perfect for the Black Hills area. Everything was 10-20 mins away. The house was super clean and we were even able to check in early. The owner always made sure we were doing alright and even gave us some great tips for our first visit to the Black Hills. I loved hearing the 1880 train whistle everyday. Reminded me of the Magic Kingdom train. Shopping and dining was an alley away from the house in Hill City. Grocery store was a quick drive up the road. I highly recommend it and would stay there again if I had the chance.

4 retired east/west coast semi-retired professionals spent a week in search of the heartland and struck gold in the Black Hills of South Dakota. There was more to see and do there than we were prepared for. Now we’re all back home completely exhausted, but in a good way. Kim and Russ have clean and well-appointed house that is so centrally located that just about all of the BH attractions are within an hour’s drive or less. Hard to beat.

We use this as a base location on biking and touring around this area. No television in the bedrooms and no radios either odd set up. This was clean and beds comfortable but that is about it. Asking alot of money for being very generic.

The beds were super comfortable, showers large, and the bath towels thick and fluffy! We enjoyed both the front and back porch areas.
