Marquette, Michigan
Cliffs Ridge is so-named because you can see its rooftop from what used to be Cliffs Ridge Run at the top of Chair #1 at Marquette Mountain, formerly Cliffs Ridge Ski Area. There is no apostrophe in 'Cliffs' because it was originally named after the Cliffs Dow Company. The exposed beams in the roof and Great Room are actually recycled from the old Tracy Mine in Ishpeming.
Part of the beauty of enjoying Cliffs Ridge is its personality and warmth —you can enjoy family and friends without the commercial feeling of a hotel. With the great kitchen space you can enjoy family dining without the expense of going out to eat for every meal.
Fully furnished, it is a wonderful place to rejuvenate and spend time with the ones you love. Relax in front of the electronic fireplace after a great day of skiing, curl up and watch a movie in the comfortable seating in the living room, enjoy drinks on the back deck after a day at the beach, or read a book in one of the private bedrooms.
Cliffs Ridge has four separate bedrooms. "Superior": King-size bed, master bath, sitting area, access to private back deck, futon, 42" Roku TV and Spectrum cable; "Big Bay": bunk-bed room with two singles; "Northwoods" Queen bed with 32" flat screen TV and DVD player; and "Chalet": Queen bed with 32" flat screen TV and door to outside. "Northwoods" and "Chalet" have French doors with blinds and curtains separating them; these can be opened or closed depending on your preference.
It also has two futons suitable for kids (one in master and one in living room) and reclining sofa and chair in the living room. There is an additional bathroom on the floor with the living room, dining and kitchen area.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything necessary to feed a crowd including two crock pots, turkey roaster and many nice pots and pans. There is a Weber stainless steel propane grill on the upper deck year-around. The back deck has access to the firepit and front walkway, and also has a second grill and bar area every season except Winter.
This year-around vacation home is the perfect spot for family reunions, ski vacations, NMU parent activity weekends, wedding parties, hiking weekends, Brewfest, Pictured Rocks touring, golf vacations and more. Our hope is that your family can enjoy it the way we have for 31 years — and that it can become your Marquette home-away-from-home as well!
The Marquette area has 35 miles of interconnected paved bike trails and miles of mountain biking trails as well—accessible directly from the house. The South Trail Head is right next to the Ski Hill as well. Cliffs Ridge is also two miles from Blueberry Ridge Cross-Country Ski Trails.
You can reach the snowmobile trails directly from the house using Michigan State Highway 553 right-away—two miles to the south to County Road 480. There is also a gas station and excellent bar/restaurant at that corner commonly referred to as the Crossroads. Once you get to the Crossroads you can pretty much get anywhere in the UP via the trail system. You can also trailer south to the parking lot next to Marquette Mountain Ski Area and access the trails from there.

This is a great home for a family or friends bigger group Stay. Convenient location close to town, ski hills and Bike trails. Well stocked with everything a family needs. We enjoyed our stay.
This was our choice as opposed to hotels for the NMU graduation. Plenty of space for everyone, and allowed us to cook, play games and spend time with each other.
We came to Marquette for work (6 of us) and chose to stay in this house because of the amenities and location, it did not disappoint! The house is well appointed, clean and the setting is beautiful! The home owners are nice and really care about you having a great stay. Staying here made our work trip great!
Great place, plenty of room for the 7 of us and 3 dogs! Had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday
Cat & Rob were great hosts, accommodating and very quick in answering all of our questions! The house was conveniently located for us, close to the many mountain bike trails and a short drive to town. More than enough space for us, which was great because spending a full week together you do sometimes need a bit of privacy ?. Traffic noise starts early in the morning, and because we were there for part of a holiday weekend, it was fairly loud on Friday & Saturday night. Enjoyed the fire pit and the mattresses were as comfortable as what we have at home. Overall, good place to stay for a summer vacation, really reasonable compared to the summer hotel/motel rates in town.
Clean and well stocked home . Central to our visited destinations (Mt. Arvin and painted rocks). All around a great place to stay. Thanks.
Just a mile from ski spot. Tons of trails. House beds were decent, but dated. Clean and safe.
We enjoyed our stay. Lots of room for our group. It is next to a highway, so you hear a lot of road noise. I liked the fenced in dog area. There were lots of dishes and kitchen appliances available for our stay. Overall, a great time!
We weee there for our daughters graduation. Great location and lots of space. So happy they allowed dogs
My husband and I stayed at Cliffs Ridge for a week and our friends (family of 4) joined us for a weekend. The house was so comfortable for our group— more than enough space for all. The bonfire pit was great. We shoveled it all out and had a fun winter fire! It’s also so quick to get into town and back or out to the Crossroads. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
Property was as listed and very comfortable
Worked great and we could take our dogs will stay there again
This property was so perfect for our long weekend moving our son up to Marquette! The location made it great for going downtown, heading to stores, or finding adventures hiking and experiencing the UP. Highly recommend staying here!
We stayed here for our second time. Everything was great. Check in and check out smooth. Property owner texted us to make sure all was good. Everything was exactly as in the description and exceeded our expectations. Thank you again, we hope to be back next year again
Everything was exactly as stated in description of property. More than enough linens, towels, kitchen items etc., great wifi. The house is a quick drive from downtown and shopping, very convenient but in a quiet location. Great location for sightseeing in the Marquette region of the U.P. and it was spacious and convenient for quiet evenings. Cat is a very accommodating host as well.
The home had a great location and kitchen was well supplied. For a longer stay they need more bathroom towels, since there is no washer and dryer that was a issue. The home is old and dated and smells like dog, could use some updating. Overall it definitely did the job and communication with manager was always great.
The house was in a wonderful location. Everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the place was so roomy that we were all able to stretch out and do our own thing.
