Stayed Aug 4, 2023We had a fun 2 weeks. The location, property and space around the property were perfect for our family of 5. Obidos is 15/20mins walk up the hill and we enjoyed evening walks for a drink/ice cream and a look around the shops. We enjoyed the beach, lagoon and restaurants at Foz. Loads of supermarkets in easy reach which was useful. We booked the property for the large swimming pool and bbq area down by the pool. The kids had fun in and out of the pool and the shade provided by the covered area was brilliant. However, we were really disappointed that on arrival the pool was not full enough. It was well below the skimmers and it would have been difficult for our youngest child to pull himself out of the water and dangerous to dive in. After filling the pool and asking the pool guy to turn on the skimmers we were much happier. Note the pool isn’t heated so it can feel cold especially for younger kids if they are in the water for a long time. Also there are lots of trees surrounding the pool so expect to spend a bit of time clearing out leaves each morning as the pool guy only comes 2 days. There are a few updates we would suggest to the property to make it more enjoyable/comfortable for guests. The beds are old and uncomfortable and could do with replacing. Some pool tiles need replacing as our kids cut their feet. Hob/Oven needs replacing. There is only 4 cushions for 5 Sun loungers. We made do and still had a good time but wouldn’t book again without improvements.

Stayed Jul 22, 2018We had a wonderful time here. There were 8 of us 4 adults and 4 children and the villa was plenty big enough. Lots of outside space and eating areas. The villa had everything we needed and is really comfortable and felt really homely. The fly screens at each window were a godsend. The pool was lovely and a great size. Sunbeds could just do with updating and we all had to fight for them as there were only 4. So one for everyone would have been brilliant. The area is nice and quiet and the local town of Obidos only a short walk away ( Uphill though!) . Obidos is a lovely medieval town , with a stunning castle. We were there when the medieval festival was on , which was absolutely brilliant. The food was amazing. The beaches nearby were huge and not too busy and really beautiful.

Stayed Jul 1, 2018Well equipped, comfortable house, lovely garden and great location. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave lots of advice on places to visit. We didn't have great weather all of the time but enjoyed the pool and outdoor rooms. We were grateful for the fly screens on the windows. A short walk to Obidos (and the train station), steep uphill but charming when you get there! One particular highlight was seeing fireflies in the garden at night, and hearing the frogs.
