This is a perfect place to go for a getaway. The pool is immaculately maintained, and you are steps away from the beach. We watched fishermen hauling in their catch each morning, drank coconut water from freshly-picked coconuts, and had amazing meals prepared by Pushpa each day. Rex took us on interesting and noteworthy day trips around Wadduwa and shared his insights on all things Sri Lanka. This is truly a place to relax and unwind, listen to the ocean, and forget your troubles.

We have stayed in the willa unfortunately only 1 week....what a shame! We traveled as 2+3 children and everything was just great, location, villa itself, our guide Rex and great cook Pushpa. Without them our stay would be just half experience. Rex showed us amazing places like Yala national park or even the trip around Wadduwa was unique experience. He is such a great person! Food was great as well, we had to take some recepies from Pushpa to try to cook some of the curry at home....although I don't think it will ever be the same. Not to forget all the stuff - they were all such friendly people. Villa + pool = just great. Dear Olof, I have to thank you for letting us stay in your villa, we will come back again for sure!

Dear Olof We all loved everything about our stay in your beautiful Villa Margarita Pushpa looked after our every need and cooked the most delicious meals that everyone including my 2 teenage children loved! The house & it’s stylish decor were spotless and downstairs floors kept clean throughout our stay. There were comfy sofas up and downstairs & the beds were the best I’ve ever slept on, all with mosquito nets. The bathrooms were spotless & had very good showers. In the early morning from our balcony, my husband and I loved to observe & listen to the stunning birds amongst the palms and beautiful foliage in the garden surrounding the villa. Another gem we witnessed was the local fishermen pulling in their catch a few hundred yards along the beach, early one morning. We enjoyed playing tennis on the excellent court and swam in the large pool several times a day. My only regret was that we didn’t stay longer at your property, as being an artist I would love to have had time to to paint the fishermen sea & gardens. Our first couple of days were a bit grey so the light hadn’t been conducive to painting. The day we left the sky was blue & the light was perfect for painting! I took plenty of photographs so have material for working from but it is not the same as painting on location. If you would like to see any of the photos I took just let me know & I’d be happy to share them with you. On our last afternoon Monica the elephant paid us a visit while we were in the sea. The children were thrilled and both rode on her back while she walked along the beach. Thank you so much for letting out your beautiful home We hope to be back again one day. With warmest wishes Liz, Jag, Maya, Oliver, Monica & Arthur DeAlwis

We stayed for a week with our family my wife and kids plus the grandparents and had the most relaxing and fun holiday! The house was perfect with plenty of space for us all and very comfortable indeed. The gardens were beautifuly looked after and the pool was immaculate! We enjoyed this so much! We played Tennis a few times as well despite the rains causing a few tricky patches on court!! Now to the best part! Pushpa was truly wonderful! such a lovely person who took care of the house and most importantly the exquisite food she prepared for us was a highlight of our stay! Thank you ! I must also mention the invaluable Rex of course he was always on hand to answer any questions and he took us out on some great adventures and in who’s company we felt very safe. Nothing was a problem for Rex! Thanks We would all love to come back in the future!

We were lucky enough to have only two of the four residences in this beautiful development occupied. This gave our house an extra special air of exclusivity. How can anyone not love waking up to overlook beautiful gardens, an enticing pool and the sea beyond. Add to this the care of Pushpa the housekeeper and chef who ensures you enjoy the best of Sri Lanka’s food delights, whether for breakfast or an evening meal. She allows you to have a real self indulgent experience. The sea is a delight - extensive beach which is kept relatively litter free for Sri Lanka and a sandy shore that makes plunging into the waves a joy. The waves are not big enough for surfing and there can be an undertow but hey, lovely warm water to frolic in is wonderful. Whilst local transport (tuk tuk) is easy and cheap the local sights are somewhat limited and there is a dearth of the usual local restaurants. This does not detract from the joys of your “home” at the villa itself. We would have liked better bed linen and towels but this was more than offset by a house that works! The shower is excellent, the bed comfortable and the furniture in good condition. There are books and dvds and generally you are at home in this lovely property. Then there is the tennis court - it has its limitations but it is an excellent facility to work off those self inflicted extra pounds. The court is set within the flower surrounded ‘compound’ which is not just 24hr. guarded but cared for in the very best fashion. As a well travelled couple we can only recommend Villa Margareta as an excellent relaxing holiday venue.

We spent a week at the beginning of November relaxing at Villa Margareta. We were thoroughly spoilt by Pushpa's wonderful cooking and Rex was a fantastic guide around the small part of the island which we had time to explore. We were lucky with the weather and had 4 beautiful days by the swimming pool and on the beach. Thank you Olof for creating an excellent holiday destination and we hope to return soon!

We spent a week in the villa, and what a wonderful time we've had! This place is absolutely fabulous and we had the most relaxing time we've had in years. The nature, the sound of the ocean, the villa, pool and garden will make you feel like you are in paradise. There are lovely people looking after the house, and who are the best hosts ever. Pushpa's cooking should get Michelin star and she was making sure we have all we need to feel as comfortable as possible. She was really caring when our little boy got sick, and Rex the driver was happy to help us in the middle of the night to look for pharmacies. He was also a wonderful guide on our daily trip. There is a friendly dog - Nangi that our kids absolutely adored and who kept us company everywhere we went. We felt so comfortable that we did not want to leave the house :) There is lots of books in the house which is fantastic. What I would take for our next visit though would be few board games or pack of cards to play and keep the kids away from pool for couple of hours :) Thank you Mr Olof, we had truly amazing holidays.

We had a truly memorable and relaxing time at the Ad Astra Villas. The villa was perfect for a family (4 and 5 year olds and grandparents) get away and we were pampered by Pushpa and the staff. While there is not to much to do in Wadduwa we happily whiled away the hours relaxing by the pool and enjoying the gardens and strolls on the beach. When we wanted to go out Rex was happy to assist with day trips and recommendations on what to see and do. The villa itself was spotlessly clean and with more than enough space for all of us. All in all a great relaxing break for our family. At the end of the week we were reluctant to leave and we would definitely love to go back.

My family and I stayed at this Villa for 10 days and were absolutely bowled over by its location and surroundings but the real impact and lasting impression has to be the wonderful local people we had the privilege of spending our time with. Pushpa cooked us amazing meals everyday of our stay and is such a lovely person, Rex organised excursions to Safari where we saw Leopards, Sloth bears as well as 3 week old Elephants roaming free in their natural habitat in Yala. Rex and Pushpa then took us off shopping and exploring in Rex's Tuk Tuk which was great fun and a real experience. Silva was our resident security guard making sure we were left free to enjoy our holiday uninterrupted and secure in the knowledge he was on hand whilst we were fast asleep in our beds. That's not to say we ever felt unsafe or threatened once but the piece of mind was very reassuring. Monica the Elephant came to visit the Villa and gave us all a ride up the beach and back as well as a fair well cuddle. If you are looking for a complete family relax and unwind then I think you would be hard pressed to beat a stay here. Olof the owner made booking and organising transfers to and from the airport very easy and we thank him and the wonderfully sincere and genuinely humble people who look after the Villa whilst he's not there for allowing us to share their little piece of paradise. We stayed in July and had very good weather - 30 to 32 degrees most days and only one night time storm which was actually quite exciting, but we were reminded by lots of people that we had come in the off season, but because of school term times and our Children's A' level and GCSE exam schedules could not come any other time of year, but we may well be back in high season when all that is over as we are led to believe the sea is very calm and tranquil in December.
