Stayed Aug 13, 2022This is a well-built, well provisioned, well-designed home directly on the Beach in Fernandina. The home itself is located about as close as you can be to the sand and it's just a short walk over wooden Boardwalk to get right on the beach. It's a nice part of the beach it's wide and often has a gentle smooth ocean. It's essentially a tri-level with three bedrooms upstairs and a single bath with shower. A lower-level master suite with separate bath and dual vanities. The main level has the kitchen living room, and a deck with nice furniture. There's also a lower level covered porch. They do provide a couple of inflatable beach toys, a couple of child-sized bodyboards, A few beach chairs. Several of the chairs that are there are broken because of rust weakening the metal and are not usable. There's an outdoor shower. The kitchen is as well provisioned as you could possibly want. The house is at least partially solar-powered. As far as I can tell you're not given access to the garage. I did text the management company about this but I never received a reply. One thing they could do is be more clear about this because there are several laminated documents from various current and previous management company explaining what is and isn't available at the house all the non-current one should be removed. They provide nice towels both for the beach and the bathrooms as well as the kitchen. They provided a reasonable supply of trash bags toilet paper and so forth however if you're heavy users of these things are just going to have to buy more or bring them with you. As far as the bedding goes I found the master bed to be quite comfortable. My guests were split on the beds in the upstairs area some felt they were too soft and others felt they were just right no one felt the mattresses were firm. One thing we all did agree upon is that the curtains are inadequate to prevent the Bright Morning Sun from getting into the rooms. If your light sensitive or like to sleep late you'll need to bring a sleep mask all of the upstairs bedrooms have Windows on the east side and a transom on the west side which means there's always going to be the light shining in those rooms. This is great natural lighting but if you want to sleep late you may find it problematic. As long as I've said this is one of the best beach houses I have stayed in in Fernandina her last 20 years.

Stayed Jun 25, 2022Perfect house for our family. Everyone had their own room and the kitchen was great. The view from the family room and deck was spectacular and the walk to the beach was less than 50 steps. Loved the furniture on the deck and the layout of the house was very functional for the family.

Stayed Jun 12, 2022This home is absolutely stunning and the location can’t be beat. It wasn’t particularly clean, however—my crawling baby instantly found all kinds of junk on the floor as soon as we put her down. We tried to vacuum ourselves but it was broken. The main microwave also didn’t work (there’s a small extra one) and the fridge had a red maintenance light on. The range didn’t always function properly either. They sent a maintenance guy but he didn’t seem to understand he had been hired by a rental company and not us. And he only came for the microwave, even though the management company said someone was coming bc of the fridge. We also ran out of toilet paper and were informed they only provide a few rolls and then we have to buy our own. Despite paying many thousands to rent this home for a week. I own a vacation rental myself and have stayed in many others. I’ve never come across such a stingy policy before. Even campgrounds provide toilet paper! Prior to our stay, it took several tries to get them to answer an easy question about the layout of the home so that we could make plans for someone with mobility impairments. The home clearly shows pride of ownership. It is beautiful and comfortable with spectacular views. The beds are comfortable, the layout is great, and the deck is fabulous. But if I were these homeowners, I’d find a new management company.

Stayed May 14, 2022This is a GREAT beach house. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, there is plenty of space, and the beach location can’t be beat! We had 5 adults and 1 infant in our group, there was plenty of room for all of us plus all of the baby gear. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, there is a small grill available for use which we enjoyed. The microwave didn’t work, but the property manager was quick to respond and offer an alternative. The master suite is great with a beautiful shower. The upstairs bedrooms are spacious, but not great if you need space for napping kids during the day because there are sun windows that don’t have shades. We ended up putting baby downstairs in the laundry room where it was darker, and that worked fine. Some previous reviews mentioned issues with renters who have cat allergies. I messaged the property manager before we booked and they assured me there are no pets on this property, I am allergic to cats and had no issues for the whole week. The views from inside as well as on the patio are wonderful, nice chairs and a sun umbrella for enjoying the ocean views. Steps to the beach can’t be beat! Also just minutes from historic downtown Amelia Island dining and shopping. Would highly recommend this VRBO rental!
