Beach Home-Rooftop Deck-Steps to Sand

This property was well set up for my family and very close to the beach. It was nice having bedrooms on two levels and the beach wagon and supplies were an added bonus. However the cleanliness was seriously lacking. The cabinet handles in the kitchen were sticky, the windows were extremely dirty, and, the most disturbing thing, the top sheet on one of the twin beds had huge pee stains. Yes, the home is big and close to the beach, but it was hard to relax feeling like the place wasn’t truly clean.

Would have been a 5, but the noise harassment was way overboard. Tuesday night there were 6 people talking and laughing, no music playing and we were warned for excessive noise at 645pm. On Wednesday at 745 we were playing cards with no music playing and again were warned. This time at 745pm. Quiet hours begin after 10pm. I went outside and all I could hear was the faint sound of people talking and laughing. This really put a damper on the trip. Neverming the dogs barking all night long and the screaming kid across the street.

I mean, wow! From start to finish this was an excellent experience! We rented this property for my wife’s birthday along with a family we always travel with. All of us agreed that from location, to the amount of living space, thoughtful amenities, outdoor space and rooftop fire pit this was one of the coziest places and well laid out places we’ve vacationed at. Highly recommended this gem!

For over a decade, my family and I have rented places in Oxnard and Ventura for Thanksgiving. We have just two conditions for the rental: it has to be close to the beach and it has to have a hot tub. Although this property listed a hot tub as one of the amenities, there was none. Instead, there was a smallish bath tub in one of the bathrooms. I think we can all agree that a bath tub is not a hot tub.As soon as we realized that there was no hot tub, I texted the management company. No response.A few days after that, I emailed the management company. No response.A week later, I emailed the management company again. No response.The communication with these people is terrible. I should have anticipated this because, during the initial rental process, I emailed them a question about a discrepancy between their rental agreement and the terms provided on the VRBO site. This email was also ignored.In addition to the lie about the hot tub, the description also lists a 'beach view.' The only way you can see the beach is by leaning way over on one of the balconies and catching a glimpse of the beach in the narrow alley between two houses.In all the years that we've been renting spots in this area, we've never once had a single problem so this experience really stands out as the worst. This company,ChicBeach, manages 28 other properties as well, and they probably manage them as equally poorly as this one so I would recommend staying away from them all.

This rental was as described, and met our needs well. Communication was good, and the property was clean and had everything we needed.

So close to the beach! Everything was easy. The house is gorgeous, clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Lisa gave us Great communication both before and during our stay. We will return for sure!

This home was perfect for our stay and the host was very accommodating and responsive. Will definitely stay here again!
