Stayed Apr 5, 2025The location to the off leash dog beach was fantastic and short drive to other locations, such as Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, the Lighthouse and more. The property was great for 4 people with plenty of room.

Stayed Dec 29, 2024The property managers weren't great. Payment was via email link, credit card the only option with a 60 surcharge! Contacted them for DD details, paid well before due date and sent receipt. 2 weeks before stay told we hadn't paid and at risk of cancellation. I contacted them 3 times and was told they'd urgently confirm. Never heard back. They must have found it eventually because our check in information came in (arrives just 30 minutes before check in time!). Then rang asking me for credit card details! Why?The rear room isn't sealed and had cockroaches, mosquitos and spiders. Our kids (14 & 11) slept in the other room together despite booking this specifically for having their own spaces. The other room had some bugs, but could be sprayed and didn't continue coming in through the night. Many window locks didn't work so can be easily opened from the outside which didn't feel secure. The window screens aren't attached properly and bang against the window in the breeze during the night.Found other people's dog chews under the lounge, not well cleaned. Pretty dark inside, not awash with natural light as described on Stayz. Lots of rules too. In the end we felt more like untrusted intruders rather than valued guests. No critical issues, just lots of small ones that added up. Didn't bother contacting the property manager given earlier experience. It is quite a busy road but that didn't bother us. The location is really good - a one minute walk and you're at the beach.

Stayed Dec 21, 2024Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the location close the beach is fantastic, the place had everything we needed and the bedrooms were well appointed. I would absolutely recommend but a couple of things to note, the aircons have a 4 hr timer so on a really hot night you will need to press the timer to turn them back on, the aerial isn't great so when it's windy, which is most of the time, the picture breaks up a lot. The back room is really a shed with no aircon, wouldn't advise in summer, this wasn't an issue for us as we just used the main bedrooms. The security of the property isn't fantastic with the window and slider door locks very flimsy. Both bathrooms are narrow, my husband could barely fit the shower opening, the other one was slightly better. Hope that helps.

Stayed Nov 24, 2024Whilst the location to the dog beach was excellent and the property was set up with plenty of seating, bedrooms and contemporary appliances (no dishwasher) and linen, it was dirty. The floors clearly had not been washed in a considerable time, the toilet seats were left dirty from the previous tenants, the paintwork was stained and grimey and the furniture dusty and mouldy. There was also a lingering odour that could not be removed even with constant air flow and air freshener. The carpet in the living room was filthy and needs replacing. The television had interrupted reception and we were unable to use it. The lock on the sliding door in the sunroom was faulty making it difficult to lock. We cut our stay short because of the odour and grubbiness. However, with a repaint, carpet replacement and a focus on effective cleaning it could be improved.

Stayed Nov 18, 2024No tv reception for first 2 1/2 days then antenna replaced and poor reception then. On arrival after agreed time gardner was moving lawns so could not really access property. Very old smelly lounge suites were very uncomfortable. Price very expensive for just one couple.Location was great.

Stayed Mar 1, 2024Location of bungalow is a breeze to walk to bagnells with puppy dog in tow. Beware of hotdays, pedastool fans don’t cut it. That beaut breeze can only be felt on the front porch and makes it uncomfortable. The beach decor is a great layout. Darker curtains in from area is highly recommended to keep house cooler then white sheer. Had my mother too she liked it , except was weary not all windows locked properly.

Stayed Dec 22, 2022This property advertises 3 bedrooms, 6 beds, sleeps up to 10 adults. Then it says it is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom Beach house comfortably accommodating 5 guests - this is a bit closer to the truth. A single bed in the same room as a queen bed might suit a couple with a small child, but it is not suitable for 3 adults. The property is really only comfortable for two couples with possibly 1 child. The photographs are clearly very old and in parts make the property look more attractive than it is. The living area and main bedrooms now have plantation shutters and the furniture configurations and décor has changed from the photos. The two bathrooms both have shower, toilet and basin – they are small but functional. The so-called rumpus room is completely different from the photos – it is cramped with a double bed & a tribunk; anyone getting up the ladder would hit their head on the ceiling. There is nowhere to watch the TV – possibly visible from the bottom of the tribunk. The pebbledash floor is covered in carpet tiles that slide around – a rug might make it feel more habitable. There is a small hanging rack, but nowhere else to keep clothes/bags. The roof/ceiling is still corrugated with some clear panels (as per photos), so with thin curtains and blind it is impossible to keep the light out. It is an absolute fallacy to suggest this room could accommodate 5 adults! There is a $118 (linen fee) surcharge for use of this room even if you only require 1 bed. Negotiation of any sort was impossible. The linen came in sealed bags from the laundry dumped on the beds - sheets, pillowcases, towels, doona covers. We had to make the beds ourselves to find there were only 2 single doonas available! Outside is shown as a covered patio but there is no shade making it impossible to sit outside during the day in the middle of summer. There is an old wooden table with 6 chairs but one was broken! Inside the living-area and kitchen are spacious. There are 3 sofas and some easy chairs but the dining-table only has 6 metal cafe-style chairs and could never accommodate 10. Apart from the lack of dishwasher the older-style kitchen seemed well-equipped. That said we made the most of it and enjoyed our Christmas. We just want to paint a more realistic picture of the constraints of the property so that others are not mislead. For the price we paid we were disappointed in the presentation of the “3rd bedroom” that could not comfortably accommodate one or two adults.

Stayed May 2, 2022We stayed here with our two dogs and enjoyed the easy access to Bagnall's off leash beach. Plenty of space inside with a safe, fenced in back yard. Well equipped kitchen but no dishwasher. The combustion heater and well stocked wood shed was a cosy bonus. Plenty of beds for extra guests. A great little set of shops up the street

Stayed Apr 18, 2022We loved staying here - the house is in an amazing location (across the road from the beach and half a block from some small shops). The house is clean, well equipped and had all the amenities we needed. Extra perks were a fire pit, fenced yard for the dog, free wifi, two car spots and all linen provided. Thanks for having us!
