Bateau Bay Beach Retreat

This house was lovely! Owner Gwen is so welcoming and helpful, when we had an issue with the rental car she graciously picked us up at the train station. The house had everything we needed and we got groceries and cooked there. The Balinese feel was lovely and the beds comfy!Pool was too cold for us but lovely, we walked to the beach and that was a short walk downhill - bit of a trek up! Would recommend having a car as Uber were a bit more here. The Beach was spectacular and when in the home, we had privacy and relaxation. The main road had a bus that was easy to use and catch. Gwen was a wonderful host and we would stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at this place in Bateau Bay! The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, with the soothing sounds of waves and birds in the background. Cafes within walking distance, the coast track walk literally across the road where we could also sit and watch whales. It really felt like a little slice of paradise. The place itself was cozy and welcoming, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

We spent 4 nights in this lovely comfortable character cosy home which is in a quiet bush setting. Though it rained a lot it’s a place you can happily just be in. With the beach and bush at the doorstep we didn’t let the rain stop us! Swimming and walking was really fun and afterwards we loved using the hot outdoor shower to rinse off. Shops and cafes are close by too.Can happily recommend!!

Lovely place and very quiet listening to the birds. Owners are very caring and made our holiday really comfortable. Bush setting and lots of shade to beat the heat.

Great location, multiple spaces, all you need and lovely towels/bathroom products supplied.

I wish i knew that the owner lived upstairs & we would be judged & monitered everything we did. It did not say in the listing that you would be sharing the place with her. I Was told it wasn't a party house when i had the childrens father & uncle arrive for a visit, & then asked to ask them to leave within 5 minutes of arrival. Not recommended for young families or people who like privacy.

The house was beautiful. Location was convenient, very close to the mall. The kids loved the pool. The bathroom has a free standing bath, amazing. Would love to come back again. Thank you Gwen.
