Barnhouse at Slip & Slide Ranch

Beautiful location. Kitchen was well stocked.

The Barnhouse was the nicest property we have stayed at to date! Warm, comfortable and felt very safe. The hosts were so welcoming and enjoyed sharing the history of the property which was very interesting. We watched all kinds of wildlife just a short distance from the house too! If you are in the Gardiner area I would definitely recommend a stay The Slip and Slide Ranch Barnhouse.

We absolutely loved our time at the Barnhouse! It’s the perfect spot to explore Yellowstone as well as the many other outdoor activities nearby. The ranch itself offers so many interesting elements that even the down times are fun. Lots of wildlife on the property and nearby. All rooms were large and comfortable. Beds were excellent. The entire place was very clean and extremely well stocked. Host was extremely helpful and generous with accommodating our needs. Highly recommend. Hope to return!

Very clean, lots of space indoors and out!

House was very clean and comfortable. It was a short drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We enjoyed seeing the bison that live on the property. We also saw elk around the property each morning.

The home was very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities that we needed. All of the beds were very comfortable. The host was very friendly and responsive. We loved all of the history of the family. The four baby bobcats playing in drive one evening was an added bonus. We loved exploring the park each day and seeing all of the wildlife. Great place to stay! Would highly recommend the Slip and Slide Ranch.

Most perfect lodging for Yellowstone. From the first email I sent with a ton of questions Susan responded immediately to it and all the follow up. Always completely through in her responses. It is great when you are dealing directly with an owner that lives almost next to property. the property was spotless and incredible views. Kitchen the best we've ever had in rental, everything was there you could possible need. So much room inside and outside. the views in the pictures do not do it justice, seeing the sun rise up on the mountains in the morning was stunning. You are 5 minutes away from yellowstone spring (closed on Mondays) and 15 minutes thru the north entrance gate. Plus you have Susan's son across the driveway who was wonderful to tell us highlights of the area and let us pet his dog Sweetie when we started missing our dogs in Oklahoma. the front porch and back deck are great to sit out, so peaceful. Bear spray is provided along with the best washer and dryer! Living room was so relaxing and everything in rental is top notch plus interesting history of the family's legacy. Can't imagine how our experience could have been any better. Only 5 miles from town of Gardnier, drive from Bozeman airport was so easy, about an hour and gorgeous drive in the mountains.Yellowstone river right across the street from property. Great to look out and see incredible barn and herd of buffalo! we hope to return very soon, thanks for sharing your hospitality and property with us.

Our second stay at the property and we loved it just as much the second time around. We got to meet more of the family who owns the property and have found them to be very nice people. Can't wait to go back in the future.

What a great place to stay! Definitely coming back here again! The accommodations were clean, well equipped, and tastefully decorated. That is not the best part! The location is fantastic. It is located just a short drive from Gardiner and used to be a working ranch. Really added to the sense that you are away from it all. Enjoyed talking with one of the owners Chuck and used his recommendations to find a place to spot Grizzly bears from a distance. His history of the ranch was interesting. It was easy to tour Yellowstone park from this location.

The barnhouse was a perfect “home away from home” for our trip to Yellowstone. It was conveniently located for Yellowstone and it was easily one of the best stocked VRBO rentals I have stayed in. Family is near the property and they gave us guidance on the area but never interfered with our plans. If you are think about staying around the north entrance to Yellowstone or just staying in Gardiner area, look no further, select this property for your stay. Livingston is also a nicely town to visit. Also, check out the bakery and bbq in Emigrant.

Absolutely incredible place to stay. Stunning property. My kids loved seeing - and getting to pet - the horses. Sitting on the back deck at night gave amazing views of the stars. One of the owners made a foolproof recommendation for seeing grizzlies which was much appreciated. The house has everything you could possibly need - from a fully stocked kitchen to toiletries and laundry soap. The owner was super easy to communicate with throughout our whole stay. Quick 10-15 minute drive into Gardiner. If we ever make it back this way, we would consider ourselves lucky if we could stay here again. Can’t say enough good things. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Slip n Slide ranch! We visited Yellowstone during the day and enjoyed our time at the ranch when returning. The bison and horses were a trip highlight! Our host was more than accommodating and quick to respond if we had a question. The house is spacious and clean. We would highly recommend a stay at the ranch!

What an amazing place! Our family of 5 loved the Barnhouse at Slip & Slide Ranch! It was the perfect retreat after some long days exploring nearby Yellowstone National Park. We loved the breathtaking views, comfortable quarters and that it was stocked with everything you need! After a long day of family time together it was nice to go our separate ways and enjoy the indoor and outdoor spaces on our own. The owners are very kind and reachable for any need. This is hands down one our top family's places we have stayed! We hope to come back again some day!

We loved everything about our stay at Slip and Slide Ranch. The house was perfect, and it seemed like they had thought of everything to make us feel at home. The location is perfect to access the park and we loved being just a few minutes outside of town. I would truly give our stay a 10 stars if it were possible.

The property was wonderful. We stayed 2 nights. 3 adults and 3 kids. We had plenty of room and it was very comfortable. We stayed at 4 different properties on our trip and this was the best. The kids liked petting the horses and playing games. We fixed a couple of meals and everything we needed was available.

This was the nicest house, with a great view of the ranch and the mountains.

This home is in the perfect location if you are planning to visit Yellowstone. We were able to get to the park early to avoid the crowds. While at the house we enjoyed visiting the horses and played lots of scrabble! The beds were by far the comfiest beds on our 2 week National/state park road trip. We unfortunately missed out on the opportunity to hear about the history on the property due to some things coming up for the owners however the people who came to help with the chores were very friendly and gave some suggestions! Thank you for the amazing home for us to stay in!

This was our second stay at slip and slide and was very enjoyable. The owner greets you and shares stories of the property and area, a real treat and a lovely gentleman. The space is comfortable and clean and well stocked. We look forward to our next stay.

Everything you need

We absolutely loved our time in Montana. This home had everything we needed including pots, pans, utensils, spices, oils, coffee pods, soap, shampoo, conditioner, board games, blackstone, and grill. The property is beautiful and the kids loved exploring right outside the doors.

The owner. Frank, gave us great adice on things to fo. We went over beartooth pass on his recommendation, then he set us to an off the grid trip to see Grizzly bears. We saw 7 Grizzly. Ill definitely be back. Thanks Frank!

Slip & Slide is a perfect getaway. Susan was the perfect host. Easy access to Yellowstone. All essentials for a great stay were provided. Rooms were large and kitchen was well equipped. Very clean property. Beds were wonderful.

The Slip & Slide Ranch was an awesome place to stay. It was a beautiful home with tons of space. It was surrounded by gorgeous country. All the amenities that you could possibly need. Very smooth check in and check out process.

We loved our stay at the ranch. Lots of land around with beautiful views. Close to the river just across the road. We took a drive and saw beautiful scenery and a mama grizzly a few miles north of the ranch.

What a nice house for our home base while visiting Yellowstone. It is comfortable and well-appointed with everything needed. Even though it is right off the highway, it is peaceful and quiet. We even heard an elk bugle after sunset. How cool is that! It is also close to Gardiner if you want to get a bite at one of the restaurants or bring home takeout. We did both.

This was the most gorgeous house and area! Susan, Frank and Chuck were so accommodating and the house was spotless and very upscale! Keurig stopped working and they brought a brand new one the same day. Had everything we needed for staying there. Highly recommend this beauiful place. We will definitely be back when come back! ❤️

There were five adults and everyone had their space but the main part of the home was an open floor plan where we could all be together cooking, playing games, or just catching up on life. I would recommend this home for anyone wanting to be in a quiet area but close to Yellowstone.
