Bryant pond, Maine
Welcome to one of the most unique homes in the state of Maine!
Got a smaller group Talk to us and see if we can come up with a fair price for your group. This only applies in the off season.
Holiday weekends are generally a 3 night stay requirement. Peak Summer we rent Friday to Friday and renters love it because when you arrive you get a whole weekend AND you avoid the awful Saturday Summer traffic.
This unique and historic lakefront home nestled in the foothills of the White mountains is one of very few in the area able to accommodate large groups under one roof. Owned by a real train engineer, the house has lots of railroad nostalgia sure to thrill all. We boast the largest yard on the lake, great for weddings and summer fun. A Hot tub, horseshoe pit, fire pit, a swing set and sandbox for the kids, a boathouse and a store/restaurant right down the street are amenities hard to find elsewhere.
The house faces to the west which means you will be on the sunny side of the lake, lots of sun and great sunsets. Our huge deck and screened porch afford great views. There are 2 living rooms, each has a cable TV. There is a Pool table, foosball, fireplace, giant, fully equipped kitchen/dining room with woodstove, 2 fridges, 3 freezers, 2 ovens and 9 burners. We do have a nice relaxing hot tub. A separate hot tub fee will apply. Pets are welcome, a pet fee will apply.
The owner being a railroad engineer has put his railroad touch to the home inside and out. Your kids will love the theme.
The home affords large groups to spread out or congregate in our massive main living room.

property was amazing. great communication with host
Great Location. The water was great for swimming and kayaking. The lawn, access to the water and fire pit area were great. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed the kitchen and upper living room area. We loved the small second table in the kitchen. It was great for games. We loved having 2 refrigerators and it was helpful to have a washer and dryer. The house layout worked well for our large group. The house however could use some improvements. The beds were uncomfortable. New mattresses, pillows and sheets would go a long way. It could use AC units to reduce the humidity /dampness and cool the place off. There were plenty of fans, but almost all the bedrooms were still very hot. The middle living room could use more lighting and the carpet and furniture felt damp. The beds on the bottom floor were not useable for us as even with the dehumidifier running, it was too musty to sleep in. We were disappointed that the rowboat and pedal boat listed in amenities were not there. The internet kept cutting out for us (although that might not be a bad thing when on vacation). In general, the weekly cleaning seemed fine, but the house could use a good spring cleaning to remove the dust in the corners. Overall, a few upgrades could go a long way to improve the experience, but the water and outdoor space was awesome.
This was a great location for anyone looking to ski with a big group!
Wonderful place to go in any season, especially winter! Skiing was close, many beds, pool table, hot tube, and tons of wood for the fire stove !
Great times in the winter at this property. Have been in the summer & it’s just as fun and relaxing in the winter too.
We brought our group of ten to Bryant Pond Station for Thanksgiving due to my range dying the week before. We could have had three times that many and still had plenty of room. It was brisk outside, but the views of the pond were still beautiful, the woodstove kept everything quite cozy and the hot tub was a much appreciated touch. This property is quirky and unique while feeling like all of the best family camps I've been to in Maine.
This place was great. The whole family had a great time. The canoes and kayaks was a plus. Overall we loved the stay
I have never seen a rental property as poorly cleaned as this one. I texted with the owner on arrival because the house had clearly been given a quick once-over with heavily scented cleaning products (causing reactive cough in a few of us that finally cleared after a few hours with the windows open) but had not REALLY been cleaned. On further inspection, not only was there dirt/hair/grime on the kitchen floor which I had to vacuum (with bare feet it felt super gross), but there was toothpaste on the chair in the bathroom. The owner said that perhaps their newer cleaner wasn't as good, but I countered that the level of thick sticky grime on the kitchen cabinets and cobwebs/chunks of dirt covering lights, fans, etc made it clear that the house hadn't been properly cleaned in a very long time. The significant cleaning fee is sufficient for a proper cleaning, so this is astonishing. If we hadn't been having a family gathering, with all the attendant coordination, I would have left and just driven back to Boston - it felt really unsanitary, everywhere. The house itself faces a lovely lake, but is very dark, with most bedrooms having one small window. The basement bedroom pictured (the arches) is an unventilated dead-end without an egress. This is a clear fire hazard and I would imagine not allowed in a rental unit under any building code. The two refrigerators were both missing shelves, and both slowly leaked water into the bottom shelf - it got gross pretty quickly inside both fridges. The house is more of a camp. The sliding doors to the deck do not open and there is a sign telling guests not to use them - you have to go around through a side bedroom to access the deck, which does have a nice view of the lake. Several chairs around the house are broken. All that being said, this property is situated on a lovely lake and comes with 3 canoes, 2 kayaks, and plenty of life jackets. We really enjoyed paddling and swimming in the clear water. The dock was easy to use and the dock to swim to was nice also.
They say that the way you spend New Year's eve is how the new year will look like. Thanks to this house, we can say for sure - 2021 will be perfect. This is the largest house we've ever been to. It served everyone so well. It has many rooms and divisions, so relatively very quiet. Plus, the kids played hide an seek for hours... We enjoyed the stove, all amenities in the kitchen, the many refrigerators and freezers, and the fireplace. Oh, and the pool table, foosball, and Jacuzzi! everywhere there are pictures and photos of trains and rail stations - very cool. we could not think of anything we might need and did not have. Thank you Jon!
We had a large group and the house was a great size to accommodate us. However the house was very dirty; the fans literally had dust caked on them. There was a dirty diaper under one of the beds, dirty underwear under another, stains on the bedding and cobwebs everywhere. We needed to wipe everything down when we got there. The kitchen fan over the table had dust literally hanging of it....we needed to clean it before we could eat at the table. There was not sufficient parking even though I confirmed that there would be ample parking for trucks and snowmobile trailers for 26 people before booking. The house is extremely run down; it has a lot of potential but is in serious need of some remodeling and updating. I would not book this property again.
