This property is spectacular! It had everything we needed and more. The views, home & garden are breathtaking. We saw howler monkeys & other animals on the property. The host & all staff were very helpful and quickly responded to any questions or needs. The location is secluded & you’ll need a vehicle with a little ground clearance to navigate the surrounding roads and driveway but it was no trouble at all. We will definitely be back!

Magical is what Shambala is all about! The definition explains it all, Harmony, good health, and wellbeing! That is just the beginning. I planned a vacation for my family, ages 13 to 75 hoping to find an experience like no other. The villa was exceptionally in every way from the beautiful gardens to the peacefulness of the pool overlooking the flowers teaming with butterflies and hummingbirds. Your eyes then traveled to the rainforest and the ocean beyond. Request were satisfied by ziplines ,off shore fishing and relaxing in the hammock ( a whole book was read). The villa was kept spotless everyday and the breakfast served was delicious! We all learned what living was like in a Central American Country. The villa, county, and people were all perfect! I sincerely hope to return some day.

The house was beautiful. The only thing was the location was difficult to reach in rainy weather.

Booked this house for first trip to Costa Rica and let me tell you this place made the experience unforgettable! Words can express how beautiful the places and the views you have. I chose this place for its location near the blue zone of Costa Rica, close proximity to the beach for surfing, but most importantly immersed in nature. The listing is accurate, the owner does a great job of promptly communicating for check-in and during your stay. I will warn you that Costa Rica has very rocky and rugged roads so definitely need four-wheel-drive if renting a vehicle as well as using GPS app on your smart phone which helps but do expect to get a little lost as you explore the beautiful island of Costa Rica. As the house name Villa Shambala translates, this house will bring you peace, happiness, tranquil, during your stay in Costa Rica.

Stayed here last week with my boyfriend and 3 adult children, 2 of their significant others and a friend. From the moment we arrived to the second we left we awe struck. This place is amazing. When you walk in and are greeted with that wonderful living room with the views of the garden and ocean you can’t help but know this is going to be a wonderful trip. The pictures on the web site are good but when you see it in person WOW!! The kitchen was fully stocked with an extra large fridge and a freezer. The bedrooms were amazing. We had so much fun relaxing and playing volleyball in the pool. My family are big time swimmers so to have a large pool was really nice. The gardens were beautiful. It is very close to some great beaches and just a short drive to Tamarindo for some great shopping and nightlife. Franklin the caretaker was always around and very accommodating as well as the cleaning lady and they cooked us an amazing breakfast with some of the fresh fruit from the farm. We hired the private chef that Juan the owner recommended and the food was very good. The entire stay I felt like a queen. We miss it so much and can’t wait to come back. Juan was so good about communicating with us before and while we were there. 10/10 stars.

We had a lovely stay and the house is absolutely beautiful. You do need to have a car or AVI’s to get to the beach which is about a 7 minute drive with Costa Rican roads. However, is is a nice quiet location with fruit trees and chickens. Lots of critters around and a very friendly stray cat that came to visit. Overall, I wonderful stay,

Absolutely Beautiful property, would definitely stay again!

Casa Shambala was the Costa Rican vacation that people dream of when they think of Costa Rica! Every day was an adventure driving to new places, even different ways to the casa. Guys went surfing every day and found best waves 10-15 mins away. Girls chilled out at the casa and swam in pool, rested in hammock, walked through the garden or down to see the horses, hiked to the beach, or went shopping in Tamarindo (30 mins away). We all took in the stunning views of nature every morning with our coffee and enjoyed our cocktails in the evening watching the breathtaking sunsets. It literally feels like you are on the nature channel, it's so surreal. Every day we looked for monkeys which we saw families of them in different trees on the property. We had 3 couples and 3 kids and had perfect amount of space. We even invited friends over for dinner that were staying at the JW down the hill and they all loved our casa 100 times more. Ha! Had chefs come to the house a few nights and that was the best 4 course meal we ever had. Carlos Juan- he is the owner of this food company, and we highly recommend. We also had Il Rustico deliver us dinner one night which was pizzas and pastas and they were so delicious. Ida, was our sweet, loving and hardworking housekeeper. She had fresh fruit cut up ready for us every morning, washed our towels and got the house cleaned up for us to start our day. Ida is the best and is more than worth the extra small fee. Franklin the grounds keeper was very helpful and accommodating to anything that we needed and very attentive to any immediate needs. He made sure the pool was clean and set up for us every morning Juan Perez, the owner of Casa Shambala was just a whatsapp message away and responded to us immediately if we had any questions. He also had the best recommendations for food, hikes, tours, etc.. The casa was truly amazing, pictures do not do justice. Everything about the house was perfect and well thought out. Juan Perez has designed the best casa in Costa Rica. We will be back and we will also stay at Casa Shambala every time we visit! It was definitely the vacation we pictured when going to Costa Rica. That stunning jungle, ocean view house, with the beach only a 10 minute drive was perfect, and the casa was actually the best part of the trip! Thanks Juan Perez for making it the best trip. We just had the most fantastic vacation in Costa Rica and one of the main highlights was the property. If you want a house that provides great space for two families and be away from the crowds of the tourist areas this is property you should look at. The house sits on top of a hill and provides the most beautiful views of the tree canopy, ocean, and one of the most stunning gardens we have ever seen. We were greeted each morning with fruits from the property courtesy of Franklin the property caretaker. Each morning and evening the monkeys would roll through the garden which was a daily highlight. The house provided fantastic space and privacy for two families with children to relax and have fun. We spent a couple of days at the nearby poplar beaches that are just a short drive from the property but one of our favorite areas was taking a short walk to a very private beach area away from any crowds. This is truly a magical place and one that really made our vacation special. The property owner Juan Carlos went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and provided assistance with any questions or when looking at activities we wanted to do. There are many great small local restaurants within a short car (4x4 is a must) ride from the property. If we get the chance we will certainly stay here again.
