Atchafalaya River Retreat

We loved the rustic features and the beds are very comfy. Beautiful and very unique place!!

Such an awesome property! Directly on the river, you have to drive past the levee wall and you instantly feel cool for doing it, lol. The sunsets are breathtaking. The tugboat traffic is funner to watch than people watching. Don’t even get me started on the decor of the house. The creativity and re-use of driftwood, metal and random surprises will have your mind reeling.

Loved the place , sunset was awesome. Very comfortable, I will go back.

The house was on the river so we loved that, didn't know it was along side their RV park, somewhat clean. Don’t ask any questions, don’t mess with the host unless you just need to. She is very nit picky and if you ask anything at all she will be sure to just list rules and fees, not helpful. The Bathroom sinks all have black mold and leak, the decorative pillows on master bed had stains, all beds had top sheets looks clean but the sheets under and mattress covers had hair, food, pee stains etc.. so gross.. I made sure to check everything and take pictures first thing when we got there so we didn’t get accused of it and charged. She makes it clear you will be charged for anything, though they don’t clean the house very good. We found so many left behind items socks, a pacifier, alcohol, perishable food they said don’t leave behind but they did not clean out of the refrigerator. Had I known it was along side the rv park, and the host was like she was I would not have stayed and we won’t again.

One of the coolest and most unique properties we have stayed at. Enjoyed coffee in the mornings watching boat traffic on river. Great communication with host. Excellent stay!

great house and location

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in Morgan City! The house was very nice, well-kept, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the Atchafalaya River was absolutely stunning—we could have sat and enjoyed it for hours. It was such a peaceful and relaxing getaway that we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back again in the future. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay in the area!
