Astoria's premier suite on the Columbia River.

We enjoyed our stay at The Pilot House on the Columbia River. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds comfortable, and the location was perfect! We had two cars so we appreciated the extra parking. The home had plenty of room for three couples. Highly recommend!

If I could give 10 stars to this place, I would give it… It was everything as advertised plus more for comfort and class and outstanding facilities for our use. Since it rained a lot, we enjoyed having the huge windows that we could view the activities on the river outside, and we loved having the fireplaces in each bedroom. It was classy, clean, friendly house, and made our trip to Astoria, so very enjoyable. I’m afraid that we’re going to be spoiled to comparing this with places in the future and they’re not gonna add up. Thank you for being such a blessing to our family on this trip.

Fantastic location to experience and explore Astoria and the marine scene.

Communication was great, the suite was clean and comfortable. We went the week before Christmas and the placed was decked out in holiday cheer! And then of course the location and view cannot be beat. We will be back again!

The Pilot House is fantastic! It was a wonderful space with everything we needed. The location and views of the river are unbeatable. The proximity to downtown, Fort George, the Maritime Museum, and River trail are great. Communication and coordination with the host were easy and resp. We really enjoyed our stay. We had high expectations and the Pilot House exceeded them.

This was a lovely place and is well represented by the website description. We were in town to attend my daughter’s wedding. The location could not have been more perfect, close to everything! Two things truly set this apart. First, it is beautiful. Polished wood throughout, reminiscent it’s namesake, The Pilot House. Second, the view is incredible. There is a panoramic view of the the Columbia River, and its workings, as well as the mountains and bridges. The actual Pilot boats (we never heard them) dock there and were fascinating to watch (especially after learning about them at the Maritime Museum). The kitchen was well stocked and the beds quite comfortable. Everyone that stayed with us was very pleased. And our other friends, were just jealous!

Our group of 3 couples had such a good time at this VRBO! The views were outstanding from every window, and we all enjoyed watching the large ships come and go. Being able to walk to everything so easily was wonderful—do not miss the Maritime Museum! The beds were comfy and we all slept well. The house itself had everything we needed and was decorated with unique maritime antiques. If you have a chance to rent this property-do it! It is a memory-making experience.

This was one of the most unique VRBOs that we have rented. That said it was the most expensive VRBO we have ever rented. The location is incredible. To be right on the river watching the ship traffic was wonderful. The proximity to the downtown restaurant / brewery scene was awesome. The beds were very comfortable. And the kitchen was nicely appointed. I absolutely loved looking at the nautical artifacts. We are hoping to come back someday.

This is our third stay at the Pilot House. We keep coming back because of the setting and location within Astoria. I never get tired of looking out over the Columbia River and all the activity that takes place on it. It’s a bonus to watch the pilot boat take off to one of the vessels that enter the river. We’ll be back.

This is a very special place. The setting at the end of the pier, with the river on 3 sides, is absolutely perfect. Coffee on the deck with the sun rising over the water will linger for a long time! Plenty of room for everyone, well appointed bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen. You are steps away from all that downtown Astoria has to offer. A very memorable trip; hope to return next year!

Perfect location and an amazing property for our annual trip. The views are just beautiful.

We have stayed here for several years. The six of us love it, especially the two kids--they love to watch the big ships come in and out and the pilot boats going to meet them. The check in process is easy and the kitchen is fine.

We had a great time during our stay. The views are incredible, the pilot house was incredibly spacious and walking distance to so many fun things. I would 100% book this again if I were planning another trip to Astoria.

This place is fantastic. This was the second time I have stayed there. Both times the place was spotless clean. Great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Beautiful views of the river and a very responsive host. We had one misunderstanding about how the showers work but that was on us not the host. I will keep coming back.

Endlessly interesting to watch the shipping and pilot boat activities just outside every window. The secure parking was great so there was no worry about the cars, and the walkability to bakeries, top notch restaurants and many attractions was like a mini-European vacation. Urban, yet surrounded by natural beauty. The rooms were private and very quiet for peaceful sleeping. The beds were very comfortable. Would love to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and very clean, and it was relaxing to sit back and watch the ship traffic from our front row seat. I thought the stairs might be an issue for older parents, but hand rails on both sides really helped. Teresa was very easy to get ahold of, and communication was great. Hope to be back again!

My dad, brother and I stayed here for a weekend and loved it. Really beautiful place with an amazing view of the Columbia, ships, sea lions and the town. Perfect location to be able to explore Astoria on foot. Will definitely try to come back one day.

We've stayed here multiple times, and it's always so pleasant! The view and the location are just perfection.

The Pilot House provided an ideal spot—with stunning weather a bonus—for our book group to consider the titles we would be reading for the upcoming year. The space is comfortable and beautifully appointed, warm and inviting. All eight of us felt sad to leave and hopeful that we would be able to return to the charming town of Astoria with its eye on the future as it honors the past.

If you are considering this property, book it! Amazing views, beautiful house, everything you could ask for. My family especially loved watching the pilot boats guide the larger ships from the dining room windows.

This is a unique property that sits right over the mighty Columbia River. The view is unmatched, and the accommodations are thoughtfully appointed. The space is comfortable, works well for a small group of guests, and is a quick one-block walk to the heart of downtown Astoria. Celebrated my 50th here, and came back this week for my husband's 60th. Lots of wonderful memories here!

The rental looked great online and was actually even better in person! We loved the views and watching the ships come in. We stayed over Thanksgiving so I cooked a lot and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped and worked great. The location was also convenient for walks on the waterfront and walking into town for restaurants and shopping. There were some other comments regarding the noise from the pilot boats and we did not find it to be a problem at all. The only time we were woken was from the foghorns, but we all appreciated the novelty of that and nobody was bothered at all. We even enjoyed listening to the sea lions nearby! My only suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the WiFi, as the WiFi was weak and cellular reception wasn't great either so checking in on work was a challenge. I highly recommend and look forward to returning!

A quick two night stay in one of the more unique places in Astoria and on the planet. I am a devoted can of the Columbia River diversity and the Pilots excellent jobs. I loved being at the window to watch.

Oh my gosh, I love this house. It was right on the water loved loved watching the boats loved being able to see the sunrise and the sunset on the water loved seeing the fog come in. the house itself was beautiful, spotless, big, roomy, great great bathrooms. The location was outstanding. We walked to the movies we walked to get breakfast and lunch to go out for afternoon drink. It was a fantastic time. I really really enjoyed it and so did my family. Thank you for hosting us.

A very comfortable place. Very clean and comfortable beds. Would have liked comfortable chairs to enjoy the view better. Close to shopping and a short drive to seaside and cannon beach. A “must have” place to put on your bucket list.

The property was in a beautiful location with unbelievable views. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was easy to walk places and visit sites. The property manager was friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend this place.

This was our second visit to the property. The views are sublime, the mood of the water changes constantly and there is continuous action as pilot boats, ships and pleasure craft cruise past. There were 6 of us plus a 30 month old child. We cooked in every night for greater sociability than going to a restaurant. It was like being home but it was a vacation. You will not be disappointed here.

The views of the river are terrific. The living room wall is all glass and it was fascinating to watch the big ships go in and out, as well as the pilot boats go out to meet them and assist them through the difficult waters in and out of the ocean. The location is terrific--you can easily walk to several restaurants from the VRBO as well as walk to the Marine Museum, which is well worth the walk.

We loved the entire experience at the Pilot House! There were 6 of us staying for just one night for a weddingat the Astor Hotel which was walkable! The views and accomodations at this propert were spectacular! I wish we could have stayed longer!
