Architectural Award Winning Retreat on 5+ Private Acres Close to Beach

Property was very secluded and private , nice yard and very clean.. the Host was very responsive .. Quintessential New England property !!! Pet friendly was definitely another reason for our choice . Perfect getaway …..

The Hideaway was exactly what we needed for our anniversary. It’s peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by so much beauty. We loved exploring the beaches, the foliage, and meeting such friendly people everywhere we went.Our pug Kingsley loved every bit of it too, joining us on all our little adventures. The house felt so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Thank you, Katrina and Roderick, for sharing such a special place, we can’t wait to come back!

We really loved the house. The house was so open and light. There was a great front porch, as well as a back deck. It felt like an unusual blend of country and city. You felt like the house was completely private and away from everyone but you could be on the beach in 15-20 minutes. There was also plenty of great places to eat pretty close by.Our favorite beach was East Matunuck.Favorite restaurant was tough but probably Celeste followed by The Coast Guard House and Cinder.

House and property were excellent as advertised. The owners were warm and responsive in their communications. We had a wonderful stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

My dog and I had the best time here! We absolutely loved the property and how quiet it was. We go hiking a lot so having some trails right off the yard was nice. Other fave parts were the swing, front porch with rockers and outdoor shower!!!Katrina was super quick to respond to my questions and was very clear in instructions, including notes and labels around the house. This is truly a one of a kind home. Very family and dog friendly.

Beautiful, well-appointed home with gorgeous yard and lovely porches. A bird-lovers paradise! Excellent location.

This was our second visit to the Hideaway and it was amazing again. Love the privacy there yet it is just minutes from beautiful beaches as well as shopping and restaurants. Katrina is a wonderful host and we hope to be back again.

The Hideaway was a beautiful retreat in the woods and located minutes from beautiful beaches, stores and restaurants. So peaceful and relaxing. The unique house had everything one would need for a memorable stay- trips to the beach, relaxing on the deck or around the firepit, walking on the property wooded trails, admiring the views from the house or simply listening to the birds. I would love to return.

comfortable, quiet secluded but close to everythig..

We spent 4 days here in May visiting family and local sites. The house is charming, full of light and space, quiet and well located for access to Eastern CT, Southern RI and Newport/Jamestown. The property is very private and quiet, and the house is well furnished and comfortable. Kitchen is well furnished, and light switches and controls are helpfully labeled. The shady yard was full of birds in early May - we counted over 30 different species. Communication with the hosts was excellent. We would happily return again in the future.There are a couple of minor things to be aware of - the hostess requests that you bring your own towels and sheets, which could be a bit of a nuisance (although it was not a problem for us) and we didn't learn that until after the booking was made. The shower/tub surround is nearly knee-high, which also wasn't an issue for us but could be if you had mobility issues. The downstairs windows have no curtains or shades, although the lot itself is very private. The fireplace is not operational, which we didn't care about. If you're short, you'll need a stepstool (a small wooden step is provided) to reach the dishware and glasses, which are on rather high shelves over the stovetop and refrigerator.

We just spent a peaceful three weeks at The Hideaway and loved every minute of it. Great private location close to several cute towns and beaches, convenient to Wakefield and Westerly, and not far to Providence. Responsive, gracious owner. We plan to come back to The Hideaway as soon as we can! Even our dog loved it. Thank you.

I stayed here for a week while attending a canine search and rescue seminar. It was a great home base for the event and I would stay here again.

Property was very nice- a little too much house for one person, but very quiet comfortable. The bed was large and super comfy-which is big with me. I have a very nice stay!!

This is our second stay at The Hideaway in as many years. We loved it just as much as we did our first trip. The weather wasn’t great, but that makes the fire pit that much better! We were able to use the outdoor shower (and it’s a nice outdoor shower!) and I’m so glad we got to see the turret. This house is so livable and comfortable, the area is great, and Katrina is so easy to contact, helpful, and gives great insight into local sights.

Beautiful house in a serene setting. Everything was lovely. They thought if everything. Close to everything.sad to leave. The hosts were very accommodating.

This is a lovely home and property in an excellent location. Despite the rain and chilly weather, we created wonderful memories here.

We love this house! House is off the beaten path and very private, but beaches are still just minutes away. Outdoor shower was amazing. So cute. Everything well thought out including a garden hose right next to the front porch to rinse off any beach sand. We will be back!

We had high hopes for this trip, and The Hideaway exceeded all of our expectations. The property was exactly what we needed. Secluded and quiet with all of the amenities. Our daughter loved playing on the playground, the grill was used daily, and we never showered inside because why would you when there’s an outdoor shower? Between mornings at Blue Shutters, cups of Del’s on the beach, ice cream at Brickley’s, clam cakes and chowder at Iggy’s and Monahan’s, we checked off every box for a perfect trip to southern Rhode Island. Thank you Katrina for being a wonderful host. We hope to visit the Hideaway again in the future.

The hideaway was the perfect spot for us for a travel sports weekend. It was cozy and clean and had all the amenities we needed. My kids loved the outdoor shower! We would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hideaway. It’s so private but so close to beaches and restaurants. The beach pass that is provided is a big plus. The house itself is really cool and the grounds are beautiful. Hope to be back soon

With the bonus of near perfect weather during our stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the “hideaway,” a unique home set in a very lovely space with outdoor seating, yard, woodland-like borders and a short drive from the beaches. Kitchen has what u need and the beds/room can easily accommodate a smallish family. All the windows make it feel bigger than it is. The house did have a noticeable sot smell, maybe someone used the fireplace before us? But it wasn’t unbearable. we’d gladly stay here again.
