Asbury Park, New Jersey
Summary:
Wake up and smell the ocean! My place is great for families or friends vacationing together. The apartment was recently renovated, and comes with its own private entrance in the rear of the house. Street parking is scarce here, but you have TWO spaces in the private lot!
The location is perfect, its a two block walk from the beach, boardwalk, and Convention Hall and just under a mile to Cookman Avenue! I've lived in Asbury Park for 10 years and I love it - I'm sure you will too.
The Space:
All the bedrooms are upstairs (there is a large sectional sofa in the living room) which means you can sleep-in or nap/read upstairs while your friends & family are hanging out/watching movies/reading downstairs (while still others are having coffee at the table in the yard). Our Blazing fast Orbi Tri-Band Wifi system features download speeds up to 400 Mbps and provides reliable connections throughout the property. Asbury Park is POPULAR and the traffic can get intense while the parking becomes impossible. Here you can park 1 car on-site, walk to the beach, and Uber to the restaurants. Want to explore elsewhere in the county - your car is right outside your door.
Please click through listing photos and read comments for more details about the rental space.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to a private rear patio with a table, chairs, and BBQ and of course the entirety of their apartment, Unit C. There are also seven backpack beach chairs and towels to take to the beach, along with 7 adult season beach passes for 2022!
The Neighborhood:
It a residential neighborhood in a beach town with city options. Walk 2 blocks to the boardwalk to watch the sunrise. Have a coffee at the Asbury Park Roastery in Convention Hall (can be viewed from the driveway). Take a 10 min walk to Frank's Deli for an old fashioned Jersey breakfast with pork roll. Walk off breakfast the long way - boardwalk from Asbury, through Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach, Avon, Belmar, and Spring Lake. Take a nap on the beach in Asbury. Hit mini-golf and the Splash Park or the Silverball Museum and Arcade. 1/2 mile north of the apartment rent bikes from the Asbury Park Cyclery on Main Street. Walk along Deal Lake to Main Street and rent paddle boards or kayak or fishing tackle at the Deal Lake Dock Company. The ShowRoom Cinema shows an eclectic mix of foreign, indie, popular and documentary films. In our 1.4 square mile town there are 40+ restaurants and 35+ restaurant bars, nightclubs and music venues. If there's too much to do in the neighborhood, you can just relax on the beach.
Getting Around:
You can walk, bike, or skateboard everywhere. You can drive your own car, rent a car nearby, or come by train to Asbury Park station one mile from the apartment. Lyft and Uber drivers are practically on stand-by in Asbury Park.
Interaction with Guests:
Keyless flexible-time entry means it's possible you won't see me at all. However, if there is a problem that needs to be addressed, I am nearby.
Our unit, three bedrooms, a kitchen and big living room, as part of a 6-8 bedroom house, was great and easy to use. Two blocks from the beach, a quiet house, very clean and comfortable. Owner friendly and easy to engage with. Would be happy to stay there again!
Amazing location just 3 blocks from the beach and boardwalk. The house has everything including beach chairs, towels, and passes! In unit laundry was so helpful with kids. Will definitely be booking again for our next beach vacation.
The house was very clean and modern and close to the beach - only a short walk to Asbury Park beach and the boardwalk! Ben was an excellent host and went out of his way to ensure our family had a comfortable stay. The house had all the amenities you would need and also included beach chairs, beach passes, and parking spots which was very convenient. We enjoyed grilling one night out too!
The house was spotless. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a beach destination!
*prefer to drive and find parking. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do for our entire stay. What's that about? *like noise. While we saw the other tenants on occasion, we didn't hear them. It was way quiet here. Neighbors? Didn't hear them much either. We even slept at night. *dislike the beach and boardwalk. They were so close by, we couldn't avoid them if we wanted to. *prefer to bring all your own linens, pillows, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, tp, paper towels... I mean, isn't that what a shore vacation home is about? *want to complain about something. Everything worked, was modern, comfortable, and clean on arrival. *want little to do. Art, music-music-music, great food, coffee, independent shops, the beach, markets, bars, arcade, bowling...who wants that many options? The house even had board games and puzzles! We had 2 tweens and a college-bound teen with us. They didn't fit it all in. Guess we'll have to return to Ben's place next season. Sigh.
Awesome location and very well maintained property!
Our family of five (which includes 3 teenagers) just stayed here for 7 nights. We have been spending a week down in Asbury Park every summer for the past 16 years to vacation and visit family and this worked out amazing. I hate to give it such a positive review because we'd like it to be available for us next summer. So, I won't. ? I will just say that another reviewer (Jeffrey K., June 2022) actually summarized the 10 star experience more perfectly than I could. Read that. I'll add that there are typically food trucks at the nearby 7th Avenue beach. And, just beyond that, Summertime Surf does surf lessons and camps on the beach. Our youngest did camp there for a second time this past week. Go online ahead of time because space sells out. Also, the Baronet at the Asbury, a couple of blocks away, shows movies outdoors on its roof some nights. Many are family-friendly and some are straight up kid's movies! Bring a beach chair and a sweatshirt! They sell popcorn, candy and beverages at the concession stand. Of course, the beach is awesome and you should also explore the stores and activities of the boardwalk and downtown. If you want more direction, I am sure Ben would be very helpful.
Unbelievably great! Owner Ben was extremely responsive from start and was visible throughout our stay—not intrusive, just around and available. 2 great off street parking spots feet from entrance. There was a great outside couch sitting area and nice, new grill that we actually hit grocery store to use which saved money rather going out to eat. Nice clean smell when enter. Pin pad entry so no worry losing or looking for keys. Spacious, full new kitchen. Great sitting area with big dining room table and huge, new tv. Half bath downstairs with full bath and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Provided beach chairs, beach tags, bath towels, beach tags, detergent for full size washer and dryer, paper products, spices, so much kitchenware. Decor nicely appropriate. Everything fresh and light. Easy, flat block and half to beach. Real bathrooms not far from that beach and more quiet than other side of convention ctr but easy walk to get to pizza, ice cream, etc. Plenty of room for our family of 4 including 2 high school kids Do NOT worry about a thing. Ben has it covered!
This house was an answer to a prayer. Our family had to lay a beloved member to rest. We needed to be able to relax, enjoy each other's company and contemplate. We found everything we needed at Bens house. The beach is close and an easy walk. Ben's landscaping and outdoor area was especially nice. We loved our stay.
The house was represented exactly as described, was very clean and had many personal touches that were greatly appreciated (coffee, towels, etc,). Very nice property great location.
