Stayed Aug 10, 2024Croatia is a nice country and the house is on a beautiful location. It is very quiet, no direct neighbors, but a lot of insects around and sometimes also in the house. Think of (large) spiders, sometimes snakes, many spider centipedes, grasshoppers, walking sticks, we really saw everything. Outside also a lot of wasps and mosquitoes. Of course it is normal, because the house is surrounded by forests. What is a pity is that you really need your car for everything, you can't walk anywhere. A nice beach, good restaurants or good supermarket is at least half an hour to three quarters drive. There is a good restaurant 5 minutes away Konoba 5ar where we have eaten regularly. Our biggest negatives of the holiday were the facilities in the house. It was said in advance that every bedroom had air conditioning, we even specifically asked Novasol about this, but upon arrival this turned out not to be the case. There is no air conditioning in any bedroom, there is an air conditioning unit in the hall upstairs + 2 extra units in the living room, but these have to cool the entire house, including the bedrooms. Even with the air conditioning on and the bedroom doors open, it was quite hot in the bedrooms. Then there is an extra bedroom in the basement. There was an air conditioner, but the lady who showed us the house did not want to give the remote to us. So I had to contact the owner of the house to arrange this.
