A Comfortable, Historic Farmhouse

Our farmhouse blends classic charm with modern comfort. With three bedrooms—two on the second floor and one on the main floor—there’s space for the whole family.

Master Suite: Includes a queen bed, private bath, and a small sitting room with a twin day bed, perfect for a child's room or a quiet reading nook.

Second Bedroom: Features a full-size bed and large closet with beautiful views of the farm fields and the river across the street.

Third Bedroom: Located on the main floor, this room has a full bed with a lovely view from the window of the apple trees.

Both bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) have been recently renovated and include modern fixtures. The master suite’s bath has a shower, while the main floor bath includes a tub/shower combo.

Comfort and Amenities

Kitchen: Fully equipped with newer appliances, including a refrigerator/freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and cookware. A laundry room with washer, dryer, and utility sink is located just off the kitchen.

Living Room: Relax with comfortable seating and a Roku Smart TV connected to WiFi. Use your own streaming accounts or access limited free content.

Dining Room: Features a wooden table with seating for six, a wood stove, and access to the screened front porch. A cabinet contains games and local area info.

Exploring the Property

The property is perfect for outdoor relaxation, with a picnic table, portable firepit, and lawn chairs available in the summer months. Take in the peaceful surroundings of our working farm, including tree farming, forestry, and orchards.

Practical Information

Pets: We welcome well-trained, housebroken pets with pre-approval. We'll provide furniture coverings if your pet would like to join you on the comfy seats. We ask that pets are crated when you’re away from the house and remain reasonably quiet. All pet waste must be picked up in the yard, and due to Andover’s leash law and the nature of the working farm and orchard, pets must be leashed outdoors.

Please note that for insurance purposes, we require prior approval of your pet’s name, age, and breed (or mix) before booking. Certain breeds and puppies/kittens are prohibited, and we ask that you send a photo of your pet after making the reservation.

WiFi & Entertainment: High-speed Spectrum internet (100 Mbps) supports streaming and remote work. A Roku Smart TV is available in the living room.

Parking: The driveway accommodates 3-4 cars or trailers, with additional parking available around the farm. Please avoid parking on the road.

Children: Due to the farmhouse’s age and some classic features, it may not be ideal for young children or toddlers. Please discuss your needs with us prior to booking.

Local Amenities: Andover offers basic services, including a general store with food and a hardware store. For grocery shopping, dining, and more, the towns of Rumford and Bethel are about 30 minutes away.

There is one 24/7 (card only) gas station in Andover. After leaving Andover, the nearest gas stations are about 20 miles away, guest should be aware so that they don't run out of gas before they get to their destination.

Cell Phone Coverage: Depending on your carrier, cell phone service especially data can be spotty in this area due to the mountains. Most people can receive and make phone calls from the farmhouse. While traveling through the area, you will encounter several dead zones. We do have WiFi at the farmhouse to help with your data needs and there are several establishments in the area that have free WiFi available.

Your Hosts

We live just a few miles away and are available to help with anything you need during your stay, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Other Seasonal Things to Note

WINTER Snowmobile Riders: This house is located on the local Loop Trail that connects directly to ITS 82 in the center of Andover. It is very easy to ride out and ride in to this property. Drop your trailer and go! We can accommodate large trailers and have additonal space on the property for multiple trailers. Please let us know your parking needs in advance and we will ensure easy parking of all vehicles and trailers.

SUMMER Hikers: We do not offer a regular shuttle service to/from the Appalachian Trail and other area trails. However, if we are around (which is often), please feel free to message, call, or text for a complementary ride to/from the trailhead.

We came for a nearby family event and were delighted to find a rental so conveniently located, comfortable, roomy, and thoughtfully arranged. The host was very helpful and responded quickly when I had questions. We all want to come back again and stay longer to explore the area and hang out on the screened porch.

Lora’s property was a great home base for our ski trip over new years! Kitchen was incredibly well stocked and the we had a lot of fun playing board games provided. Having and washer and dryer was a huge help and the drive to Sunday River wasn’t bad at all.

This quaint, lovely old farmhouse in Maine was a perfect place for the family to stay while we were up working on an old family camp nearby. The property had a tranquil ambiance and quaint New England charm coupled with the sounds of the river across the road. We and our 5 year old loved exploring the farmhouse and property, while enjoying silence of rural Maine.

Fee (my sister) and Tony from Australia, Bob (a New England Yankee farmer type) and I got way more than we had hoped for in our first real dedicated Fall Foliage road trip...(and I have lived in New England for 42 years and Bob for 79 years!) The farmhouse is PERFECT with the apple trees supplying our dessert every night ... the lovely foliage, the Cascade Hike during the flood, Quill Hill, Mooselookmeguntic Lake from Height of Land and Knotty Moose Tavern for Moose Balls and ...

This was our third time renting the farmhouse and overall had another relaxing week of rest, hiking, and enjoying sitting out on the front porch listening to the rushing water of the stream. Wild turkeys came to visit three mornings of our stay. Always hate to leave but hopefully will be back in a few months.
