Summary:

Welcome to Adobe Retreat, a light-filled historic adobe just four blocks from Taos Plaza. Gather under soaring viga ceilings by the wood-burning fireplace, cook in a tile-trimmed kitchen with a sunny breakfast bar, and step out to a private, adobe-walled courtyard framed by green lawns and old cottonwoods. With local art at every turn and radiant-heated floors underfoot, this single-level home is a peaceful base for art, dining, and mountain adventures.

The Space:

Adobe Retreat is a classic single-level adobe home tucked into a quiet Taos neighborhood, just four blocks from the shops, galleries, and restaurants of the historic Plaza. Soaring wood-beam ceilings, skylights, hand-painted tile, and the work of local artists give the home its warm, unmistakably Taos character.

Inside, an open layout flows from a comfortable living room with a wood-burning fireplace to a tile-trimmed kitchen and a sunny dining nook with banquette seating. Two restful bedrooms and two full bathrooms, each finished with hand-painted Talavera sinks, give couples or a small family room to spread out. Outside, a private adobe-walled courtyard, covered portal, and landscaped lawn invite slow mornings and easy evenings in the high-desert air.

Whether you are here for the galleries and Plaza, a ski trip to Taos Ski Valley, or simply a quiet reset, Adobe Retreat blends historic charm with everyday comfort.

The perks of this property are absolutely its close proximity to the alpine village and ski lifts. The interior space for our family needs, though sophisticated isn’t an accurate description. Cleanliness was a bit of a concern as we found brown stains on the duvet cover which we promptly washed. The space catered to hosting many people with lots of couches, fold out cots, and day beds. The big porch was just a sort of the condo space as well, though nice brides when we were walking in and out of the condo.

Arrived and it seemed the previous guest were a bit rowdy. The condo smelt like marijuana, very stout. A few items were broken as well. I reported those and

It was a great property and a good location. Overall the condo was perfect, but the pillows were awful which impacted all of our sleep. Also, need to upgrade the paper products for the price we paid to stay there. Very scratchy and thin TP and no Kleenex to be found. We had some guys show up to fix the toilet right when we got there and if I was there alone with girls... I would have been a little concerned. Luckily our friend is a plumber so he fixed the problem and sent the maintenance guys on there way.

This home was an excellent choice for our vacation. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, baking dishes, knives, utensils, and small appliances. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The check-in and check-out processes were easy to navigate. When I had a question about parking, I received an immediate response from the property manager. There was not a long list of cleaning chores to complete before checkout; we were simply asked to start the dishwasher and start a load of laundry if possible. If I return to this area for vacation, I will try to rent this unit again.

The kitchen is well stocked including coffee makers and a blender...smoothie heaven. The beds are super comfy. We had everything we hoped for...plus a private patio area that was the bomb. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Perfect size for 4 people as the kitchen is well stocked with a great refrigerator and freezer with plenty of room. It snowed a lot during our mid-March visit so the access roads were quite muddy and drove the car instead of walking to the main village. The restaurants were all great but you need reservations for dinner. Overall had a great time and want to return this summer for hiking!

The condo was in a great location, within walking distance to the village and river. It was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Overall, the perfect getaway from the busy city and hot temperatures! There were no issues with the condo itself. The check-in instructions from Vacasa indicated a parking permit was an absolute, but there was no parking permit as stated. I contacted them right away, however, no parking permit was ever provided. The area was not busy at this time of year, so maybe the permit is not a big deal now but I would caution during busy seasons, if they enforce towing.
