We really enjoyed our stay. Walking distance to excellent restaurants! All couples had a private bath which was great!! You can drive so easily everywhere. This worked perfectly for our group of 12.
Once the rain cleared out after our first day we had a great time at Bar Harbor and at the house in the evenings.
Convenient location to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Ample space for a large group to gather in the house. TVs in most rooms. Wi-Fi good. Quiet neighborhood. Great local restaurants down the street.
We had a great family stay in SW Harbor celebrating 30th, 60th and 90th birthdays. The house was comfortable and having a bathroom per room and 2 kitchens was a big plus. We walked to town as well as MDI Lobster, Beal Lobster and the Claremont for drinks. Hiking trailheads just minutes away and short drive to Acadia entrance was very convenient. If you do the summit drive, make sure you don't miss your timed entry, they will not let you in! Our best score at the local mini-golf was 42. We had a couple minor issues/ questions during our stay and Kris replied very quickly via the Vrbo app and all was good!
We had a super time. The house is just terrific - and ideally located for a terrific stay on MDI. The house is very well equipped and the management is very responsive - so all good. Thanks again !
We had a wonderful stay in August for a week the house was well equipped with everything except towels wash cloths. You will only have one towel and one wash cloth for the week. It was very walkable to town and to the pier.
Eleven family members shared Clark Point Inn. There was ample room for all of us, and great communal spaces with two kitchens, living room, and a sunporch. I think everybody enjoyed having their own bedroom/bathroom. The location is top notch. Less than half a mile to beals Lobster Pier and less than a half mile to downtown Southwest Harbor and some really good eats. The views are lovely. Also close to an island explorer stop. The house was very clean and well-appointed. And six parking spots!
We ended up with 8 people celebrating a family member's 80th birthday and sharing the 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms in the house so everyone was very happy. Southwest Harbor turned out to be a perfect place to enjoy all that Acadia National Park and the gorgeous surrounds offer without having to deal with the hassle and overcrowdedness of being directly in Bar Harbor. There are a number of good restaurants, a coffee shop (walking distance from house) and ample outdoor activities near the house, but Bar Harbor is less than 30 minutes away so you can go there whenever you like as well. For those who love gardens, the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, Asticou and Thuya gardens are all very highly recommended if you will be there in the summer months. They're actually quite stunningly beautiful. Also, nearby Echo Lake has a very nice beach and the water is warm enough to swim, which in my past visits to Maine is not something I could say about the ocean - it's freezing as I remember. We all decided the location and the amenities of the house were about as good as we could have found and if we ever came back this would be the place we would rent again.
Family reunion. All ages enjoyed the scenery and activities of MDI. Had a great time.
Will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay in Southwest Harbor. Quaint small town in close proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The only negative was that most restaurants in Southwest Harbor had closed or were closing for the season, so we would plan better for that next time.
Beautiful property overlooking the harbor with excellent communication from the owner. Would definitely stay again!
Great location and owner was quick to respond if any problems arrived. Loved the house ?
Nice century home … spectacular harbor views.. great neighborhood and lovely quaint town within walking distance. Enjoyed the shops, bakery and visiting South West Harbor Library (library staff members were kind, cheerful and very helpful!) Look forward to visiting again soon.
Great property for a group--quite-side location (although street a little busy); lots of windows/screens; well-stocked kitchen; window ACs in every bedroom; shops and restaurants close-by (mostly walking distance); Echo lake and some hikes/climbs less than 10-minute drive. Highly recommended!
Perfect spot for our family of 10, ages 11 through 80. Comfortable and enjoyable
We had a variety of ages and we all enjoyed our time at your beautiful house. Many things to do in the area, thanks for a great time!
Enjoyed our stay. Great location. It was very convenient that every room has their own bath. The house was very clean. Great communication with owner.
We had a wonderful stay. Great location and comfortable house.
Great set up for a family with a couple of grandchildren plus adults. More relaxed than the other side and hiking trails were far less crowded.
The property was just as described and was perfect for my husband and I and our 4 adult children and their partners. The house had enough cook-wear we needed to prepare meals, plenty of plates silverware, and drink ware, etc. the sleeping spaces -each with their own bathroom and sitting areas were great! The whole house was clean and well appointed. Each bedroom had its own temp control which was a lovely bonus. Although we visited early in the season and a number of shops & restaurants were not open yet, there was plenty to meet our needs and they were super convenient. We spent most of our days at various Acadia activities and they were easy to get to. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a quieter area but having easy access to everything we wanted within the park.
