This property was perfect for our large group, we loved being in walking distance to local shops and dining. Our host responded quickly when we had additional needs. This is a very unique place to stay. The pool table kept everyone entertained in the evening and we enjoyed reading about the history of the building. On the downside-we were looking forward to sitting outside. There was one small picnic table, no chairs/patio set as advertised. We would definitely contact Kelly if we visit the area again Thank you
Our stay couldn’t have been better. The place was really roomy and decorated to fit the area up North! Very clean and had all the amenities for a big group. We absolutely loved the sauna. The only thing that could have been better would be if Mother Nature had proved us with snow for snowmobiling ( very unusual winter for Northern Minnesota). Cute shops surrounding us including a great coffee and bakery shop. We loved it!
Our overall experience at this location, TOE unit 1, was wonderful! We needed lodging for a large group. Our daughter’s graduation from VCC and Christmas celebration was planned. A baby all the way to great grandparents were in our group. Unit 1 had lots of space for us to gather close for fellowship or spread out to play board games, video games, or use the pool table. Ample seating for all of to eat together and a kitchen with plenty of space to cook for a crowd. We took advantage of the close proximity to the local stores and coffee shop. We walked to most of them and checked off a few names on our Christmas shopping lists. Parking was off site, which was just a minor inconvenience, mostly for the great-grandparents who don’t walk as well and for unloading/loading vehicles. We appreciated the history of the building and its character. The thoughtfulness of the games, books, furniture, decor and supplies provided (shampoo/conditioner) were noted. We would love to come here again!!
We loved the space for us to quilt. We cooked meals and had a great stay!
Perfect place to stay in downtown Ely. Clean, great amenities.
Great location - we walked to shops/restaurants/parks, large clean space. Lots to do inside on our rainy stay, our kids stayed entertained. The space was clean and well stocked (kitchen/board games/soap) We loved it. We would love to come back.
We (8 Seattle area friends who love canoeing together) began our Quetico adventure at Taste of Ely. We couldn’t have made a better choice. The accommodations were exceptional- and conveniently located next to Piragus- our canoe outfitters. The VRBO is historically interesting and just beautifully appointed. Our host was friendly and an excellent communicator. We cannot wait to return for another stay!
Great place. Great location. Fabulous property management. Very friendly and helpful.
This is a perfect place for our family. We could all be together and also have places to escape to.
Quaint & comfortable
Beautiful remodelof the old grocery/restaurant and now a HUGE vrbo, perfect for multi age families.
We come up to Ely every January to ice fish, hit up the sauna, and take in everything Ely has to offer. We will definitely look to stay here on future trips. The place is massive and the location is perfect. We walked pretty much everywhere except the quick drive over to Zupp's for groceries. Kelly was there to make sure we got in okay and answered a few of the questions we had quickly and professionnaly. We will definitely stay here again. The in-unit sauna was a great thing to have after a couple long days on the ice.
We loved our stay and had so much fun. It was the perfect getaway for High School Friends to catch up after 36 years! Thank you.
Our annual trip to Ely for the trout opening was a success. The house is in a perfect location to enjoy the town. The guys enjoyed ice finishing and the gals enjoyed the ski trials. The house was perfect for relaxing and we enjoyed the beautiful sauna.
Our adult family was in Ely for a 3 day dogsledding experience at White Wilderness. The property had excellent location, communication and cleanliness. Highly recommend.
This property #1 would be ideal for both large families or team member retreats. Large, clean, lots of beds and congregating spaces. Would book again!
First, this location is literally perfect. You can’t get closer to shopping, and restaurants downtown. Very safe. We loaded canoes in the backyard and headed out each day to a different entry point. Slow fishing for two days but third day we caught pike faster than we could reel them in. Kawashiwi falls was a great day outing. In the evenings we enjoyed good food, and a local wine bar. Couple of bars are very close. The venue was clean and comfortable with nice seating, and booth table. Kitchen was fine. A few basic kitchen utensils and spices were missing so we contributed before we left and it could still use a few additional items. The pool table and sauna were nice extras. Laundry room and towels were clean. The listing says Adirondacks but we did not see any. Outdoor deck was private and nice. The parking spot sign for unit one (ours) was changed mid week by another renter switching our parking spot sign to suit their closer proximity, but still parking was fine and close to venue. Dishwasher was on struggle bus but worked just didn’t drain completely. Disposal switch is under the sink in case you wonder. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed Bear and wolf centers. Walked miners lake too which is only a block away. All in all, just a great little location in the perfect spot for our family of five.
