Enjoy the best of the Rocky Mountains in this secluded 2-acre, private 5-bedroom (plus two bunkrooms) family-friendly Hideaway! This almost 5,000 sq. ft. house’s neighborhood is just far enough off the beaten path to escape your stress but close enough to Breckenridge to ski on that perfect powder day.

The mature evergreens and aspens' backyard is Pike National Forest, and doubles as a trailhead that leads to Mosquito Creek, a 5-minute stroll from the back door. If you keep going, you will discover a network of forest service trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling.

Sorry, no fires in the fire pit or anywhere else on the property due to dry conditions.

This four-season, peaceful mountain retreat is bright and airy, with its large windows bringing natural sunlight and views of glistening aspen trees. See the edge of the Milky Way galaxy from its sprawling deck, which includes a private outdoor hot tub, gas grill, lounging, and dining area. You will be amazed at the opportunity of watching moose, elk, and other wildlife.

The spacious, comfortable layout invites guests to relax together or spread out across three levels. The bedroom and bathroom layout is:

*Third floor: BR 1: King with en-suite; BR 2: Queen with en-suite

*Second floor: BR 3: Queen; BR 4: Queen; BR 5 Bunk twins x 2 } shared hallway bathroom

*Lower level: BR 6: Bunk full x 2; BR 7: Queen } shared hallway bathroom

This modern home features beautiful architectural details, such as a grand stone wood-burning fireplace, three dining areas, open staircases, and soaring vaulted ceilings. The large chef’s kitchen has ample prep space, allowing multiple cooks to work together. The top level features another sitting area, office space, and two en-suite master bedrooms, one with a private deck.

For indoor entertainment, head to the first level, the gaming floor. This level has a private bedroom and a bunkroom (with four full beds) separated by the entertainment area equipped with a TV and seating area for many. There is also a 6-person poker table, a pool table, a glowing commercial air hockey table, shuffleboard, stand-up video games, a bar-style dart machine, coffee table foosball, and more!

From the first level, there is a walk-out to a fenced area where the kids can play and build snow forts. This property is pet-friendly and will allow up to 2 dogs with a small, so bring along your furry friends and let them enjoy the surrounding nature.

You will be close to one of the many trailheads along the Continental Divide, plus Mountain Biking, River Rafting, Ski/snowboarding, snowshoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, and snowmobiling, including fly fishing for the South Park award-winning trout: nearby hiking mountains - Mt Democrat, Lincoln, Bross, and Mt Quandary.

At Hoosier Hideaway, enjoy the fresh mountain spring water that flows directly from the filtered private well system.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Please note the elevation, about 10,000 feet in the Central Rockies. In winter, you must have (or rent) a vehicle with 4-wheel drive or 4WD with chains.

----------------------------------------------------------------

For the best experience at Hoosier Hideaway and its mountain living, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING:

-Good cell phone service in the mountains in Colorado does not exist in general. So please do not depend on it. DIRECTV and Elon Musk's StarLink Satellite Wi-Fi are available only at this property. You would log in to the WiFi on your phone to make calls.

-There is no option for streaming movies.

-Please DO NOT plan a business meeting if you need to “Zoom” or such. We cannot guarantee you can do it at the house. In town, perhaps, but not always within the home.

-We are about an 8-minute drive from the neighborhood to Hwy 9.

We hope you'll spend much of your time enjoying our incredible landscape and the forest surrounding our home, and just relaxing and playing with all the gaming equipment. All ages have an incredible time at our home, and our favorite reviews say, “We opted out for another day in town/ski just to hang out and have fun at the house.”

----------------------------------------------------------------

This stunning home sits at a higher elevation than Breckenridge and the surrounding towns—approx. 10,500 feet. When you go from low to high altitudes, your body needs to adjust to the change in oxygen levels. Although most people are not affected, some may feel the effects of the altitude.

Before coming out, please research altitude sickness. You may even want to consider spending a night in Denver (at 5,280 feet) to help adjust and pick up a few “Boost Oxygen” type canisters to have handy.

Some companies offer rental options for oxygen concentrators if you believe you may struggle more than others.

Make sure you are hydrated before and during your stay.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Wildlife is truly incredible, with frequent sightings.

-Please remember how dangerous they are up close, stay in groups, and watch children and dogs.

-We have a fenced area off the first level, but it's mainly for our children and dogs to play while supervised.

-Wildlife has been known to break into the fencing area; therefore, we sometimes find gaps in the fencing. In winter, the gaps can sometimes be hard to see.

-We don’t suggest playing outside at dusk or in the dark.

-There is a strong possibility you will see Elk, Moose, Bear, and many other mountain animals.

-Ensure food prepared and/or eaten outside or on the decks has been taken inside before evening. Bears and other animals can climb up to the decks.

Hoosier Hideaway is a true hidden gem. This is a one stop shop for all your vacation needs. The location is great, atmosphere is welcoming and the host was second to none providing stellar service and support for the entire duration of our stay. The amenities mentioned and available were more than enough to keep all of us entertained on a daily basis during the duration of our stay. Proximity to Breckenridge and surrounding areas was spectacular and provided lots of entertainment. I’d definitely recommend booking Hoosier Hideaway for your next stay/vacation. 5 Stars and A Rating all around.

Our group had an amazing stay. The property was remote, had a great layout/common areas, plenty to do and hiking nearby. We would definitely stay again!

This house was one of the best places we have stayed for our 31st annual horseshoe tournament. We had friends from Wyoming and Colorado and everyone loved the place. Not to mention the awesome wildlife you get to encounter. Absolutely beautiful!!!!! We will definitely be back when the tournament is in Colorado.

First the good: the location is great! 30 minute drive to Breckenridge & even though it’s in a neighborhood, it felt very private. The house itself is perfect for a large group. We had 13 & there was plenty of room for all of us. The basement was a huge hit with the teenagers! The arcade game was not working but they played pool the whole time. The hot tub was easy to use and worked great! As for the bad: for a house this size that can accommodate this many people, it needs more than one water heater. After coming home from hiking or biking, only 2 people were able to get a warm shower before the hot water was gone & the showers were ice cold. It took literally about 4 hours before the water was warm enough for another shower or load of laundry or dishes. Not acceptable to say you can accommodate a lot of guests if that means that only 2 of them get a warm shower! Also the pots & pans are terribly scratched & warped to the point that the lids don’t fit & the non-stick coating flakes off into the food. Many of the glasses were dirty when we arrived & had to be hand washed. I noticed that the check-out instructions state that guests are to run the dishwasher “even if there is no detergent or soap.” So a cold water rinse with no soap? Yuck! No wonder the dishes in the cabinets were dirty when we arrived! The tan sofa on the main level is very stained. It needs replacing. Propane was empty when we went to grill. Mgmt needs to do better.

This home was ideal for a gathering with our 4 children and their families (including 8 grandchildren). We had plenty of room for socializing together, but also plenty of room to spread out for a little quiet time. The kids spent hours building forts in the wooded area behind the house, and when it was time to come indoors, we all enjoyed the game room downstairs. The home was clean and included all the necessities for a very comfortable stay. The hosts quickly responded to any questions we had and made sure to provide any extras we needed (pack n plays, highchairs...). We made some wonderful memories at Hoosier Hideaway!

We had a great time at this property! We stayed during a bad cold snap and there was so much to do in and around the house everyone had a blast. House was clean, directions were easy to follow. One note- you will definitely need a 4WD during the winter to get up the driveway, the listing is absolutely correct.

The pictures did not do this place justice! It is absolutely stunning and so clean. They had so many activities for you to do that we never left the house. From all the games to the hot-tub to just relaxing on the back pourch taking in the view. The place was well equipped with EVERYTHING you could imagine you would need - including baby stuff. This house is a 10/10 and I would rebook in a heart beat. Great job to the owners!!
