York, Maine
- New Listing: Weekly Rental (Sat--> Sat) -
Immaculate, newly renovated 100-year-old home that has been upgraded to keep its historical charm with modern utilities. The house sleeps 10 comfortably, and there is room for at least 5 cars. There is also a twin sofa bed in the living room to accommodate an extra guest. The house is located at 387 Pine Hill Road in Cape Neddick, ME, just a short walk to Perkins Cove and home to the one of the top ten 2023 top beach awards in the U.S. There are wood floors throughout, all brand new appliances, pristine new bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with quartz counters and floating shelves, industrial capacity laundry units, and a back porch that overlooks a ~half acre manicured backyard with berry bushes and pear trees that the deer enjoy all summer. Turkeys also make many visits. A fire pit outside makes for the perfect family gathering spot for s'mores and ghost stories. An upstairs nook contains a play area with classic toys for the children to play with. In the event of rain, there is a massive TV and a library with books and puzzles for all ages. Leave your car at home and walk the half mile across the only pedestrian operated bridge in the U.S. into Perkins Cove so you can enjoy a few rum punches at Barnacle Billy's or one of the other famous restaurants in the Cove. Perkins Cove also marks the start of the famous Marginal Way, which is the pedestrian cliff walk on the oceans edge that leads you past several small beaches and stops at Main Beach in the center of Ogunquit. The famous Ogunquit Art Museum is also a half mile walk from the house. The Cape Neddick Country Club abuts the property, and non-members are welcome. Anywhere you cannot walk, you can simply hop on a trolley or drive. The Ogunquit Playhouse offers rotating musicals and the Ogunquit Movie Theatre offers evening events ranging from free movies to live comedy shows to drag queen competitions.

Quintessential and charming home near the heart of Ogunquit. Everything has been fully renovated and you would never guess that this is a 100 year old home. Comfortable beds and furniture make this a perfect escape for a Maine experience. Lovely quilts and furnishings add to the charm of the home. For me, what sets this home apart from other listings is the picturesque backyard. And the beach or stores are walking distance or a quick drive. I feel lucky to have found this gem of a rental. And since it is a four season home, my family will definitely be back.
Wonderful property! We have a great stay.
One of the best (and most charming!) places to stay in the Ogunquit/a Cape Neddick area We are a family of four (including two kids 5 and under) and have stayed in many places in the Ogunquit area. This cottage has been one of our absolute favorites! The owners are kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The home is clean, with an old world feel updated with modern amenities… new kitchen, bathroom, laundry area… and air conditioning! If you aren’t beach-bound, there is plenty to do at the cottage: books to read, games to play (both indoor and outdoor), a grill to cook on, a fire pit to gather around. As a special treat, the huge and private backyard has a pear tree and is occasionally visited by deer! We booked this trip at the last minute. Usually, our goal is to be within walking distance (for a 3- and 5 year old that’s under half mile) to the beach. This house was not that quite that close, we had a short drive to the beach (probably under 2 miles). And, it was the most peaceful, restful, relaxing place. It made me reconsider our previous beach-adjacent requirement. We absolutely loved this house and property and will definitely visit again.
