Bruinisse, Bru, is the seaside village of Schouwen-Duiveland. You will see this as soon as you seethe huge shell statue that stands at the harbor overlooking the fishing boats.

With a reputation as a fishing and farming community, Bru has long had mussels as its main source of income.

The mussel season begins in July with three-day fish festivals where the whole village celebrates and eats the mussel.
