Monterey, California
This home is NOT a short term rental. Month to month or six to twelve month lease agreement required. Our home is located up the hill on David Ave...a short 5 minute walk to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. The home was remodeled recently.
This spacious home has modern conveniences, and was built in 1991. It is located on a lot with another 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage (Casa Amarilla Listing #552096), which is also available as a vacation rental. For multiple family/larger group accommodations, both homes are available to rent for the same time period.
The home is approximately 1,500 square feet, 3 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (1 bathroom in master suite), living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace (forced air heating as well), and a fenced private patio/deck area, with partial views of the Monterey Bay. Duel pane windows/ insulated and quiet.
Wood flooring throughout. Vaulted ceilings, several skylights, recessed lighting, mirrored wardrobe doors, wifi internet, and basic cable. Private paved alley entrance, with room to park 2 unrestricted street parking as well. The alley is nice for morning/evening walks with friends, family, and dogs.
King size bed in the master suite, two twin size beds in the second bedroom. The third bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a standard size portable crib/bedding, that can be easily rolled to any room.
We had a wonderful stay. The location is absolutely fantastic. It has everything you need and the property manager is wonderful. She is responsive, kind, and helpful. Recommend for anyone wanting to visit Monterey, Pacific Grove or Pebble. Property is situated to enjoy all!
Everything was very easy and friendly. One of the neighbors even baked fresh cookies and brought some over.
Beautiful, artistic home close to the Aquarium. Nice bedrooms. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very pleasant. The only con is that there are several levels in the living area. Watch your step. Not wheelchair or senior friendly. I would definitely rent here again.
We had some guys in town for a job and were able to book them at this beautiful VRBO - would definitely utilize this VRBO again. Very easy check-in/check-out. Great accommodations.
Nice place nice helpful owner
Good experience. Lots of art, comfortable setup. High ratings overall! FYI natural light from skylights are great, but bring eyemasks for all guests if you want to sleep past dawn. Areas separated by split level steps. Not wheelchair/ clutz/ drunk friendly.
The house is walking distance to the aquarium and Cannery row. However, coming back from Cannery row is mainly up hill which could be an issue if you are traveling with the elderly. The home is beautifully decorated and very clean. My family felt very comfortable and really enjoyed the stay. There is a nice backyard garden area that is perfect for hanging out and offers a view of the ocean. The only small issue is that there is not really any parking at the house. However, it was fairly easy to find nearby street parking. I would definitely stay at this home again.
We really enjoyed our stay! It is very close to the aquarium and cannery row, as well as lots of restaurants and beaches. Perfect size home for a family trip. Would definitely recommend this home.
We rented both of her properties for a birthday and our family had a great times. More than enough space for the 10 of us between both properties, house is well stoked for all the meals we cooked, clean and very cozy. Loved the location 5 min drive to Cannery Row and central to everything. When we arrived one of the owners was there and got us all settled in. Great experience from booking all the way to check out. Thanks Guita!
This is the email my sister sent to the owners, which we never received a response to. In addition, she didn't even refund our full deposit, let alone acknowledge the state of the home when we got there. I would not recommend this property, despite its proximity to downtown. You're better off staying in a clean hotel. Good evening, I am writing regarding our recent stay in your Monterey rental property. We had a lovely weekend and it was a perfect location. However, I wanted to bring up a few things rather than write a public review. The house was not in a very clean state when we got there. We were disappointed to find the refrigerator was full of food. We brought food for our group for the weekend and were not able to fit it all in the fridge. As we attempted to rearrange, we realized much of it was rotten and smelly (including moldy vegetables and curdled milk. . . ) We had to clean much of it out ourselves. We overlapped with your daughter who mentioned that she had just finished cleaning the house, though it was difficult to tell when we arrived. The floors were quite dirty, to the point that our feet turned black if we walked around barefoot, and the rugs were in need of vacuuming. The bathroom sinks also did not appear to be recently cleaned. The trash bins out front were nearly full and there were ants in the kitchen. I was also not aware that the other cottage mentioned to be on the lot actually shared walls with our rental. That was very misleading, especially since windows have a direct view to the patio where we were expecting to have privacy. I feel the cleaning fee should be refunded in addition to receiving the damage deposit back and possibly a partial refund for our stay. Though the house is beautiful and the location ideal, it was not up to the standards of a vacation rental for a family vacation at the price we paid. I would greatly appreciate your response in this matter, as well as when I can expect to receive my deposit back.
