Wake up to Lake Michigan just outside your window.

Set on 213 feet of private Lake Michigan frontage at the mouth of Grand Traverse Bay, this peaceful Northern Michigan retreat is all about the water, the views, and slowing down. From the Great Room, expansive windows frame sweeping views across the bay toward the Leelanau Peninsula and Fox Islands. In the evening, settle in for spectacular sunsets and watch the distant lighthouse at Leelanau State Park flicker across the water.
>Inside, the vaulted-ceiling Great Room is the heart of the home, with comfortable gathering space and beautiful lake views. The Petoskey stone fireplace adds a classic touch of Northern Michigan character, and you may even find a few Petoskey stones of your own along our stretch of beach.

The open kitchen makes it easy to cook and gather together. It features a gas range, counter-depth refrigerator, KitchenAid mixer, quartz countertops, and an oversized 8-foot island with seating for four. The kitchen opens directly to the dining and living areas, so no one has to miss the view or the conversation while preparing meals.

Wake Up to the Lake

The home offers four queen bedrooms, a sleeping loft with two twin beds, and two additional twin beds in the finished lower level. Linens and quilts are provided, and every bedroom offers a view of Lake Michigan.

There is an oversized full bathroom on the main level as well as a spacious, updated bathroom on the lower level.

Your Own Lake Michigan Beach

One flight of stairs takes you from the house to 213 feet of private beachfront. The shoreline is primarily sandy with some natural stones, and the clear blue water creates an incredible setting for swimming, relaxing, exploring the shore, or simply sitting back and listening to the waves.

One of our favorite features is the outdoor hot-water shower right by the beach. Rinse off after a swim or enjoy a morning shower outdoors while looking toward the lake. If you're lucky, one of the local bald eagles may fly overhead.

The property sits on a quiet dead-end road, ideal for peaceful walks and wildlife watching. Bald eagles, loons, swans, and hawks are frequent visitors. We also own the wooded lot immediately north of the home, creating an additional natural buffer and sense of privacy.

Relax, Play & Explore

Outdoor amenities include a solid pine picnic table, deck seating, anti-gravity chairs, a charcoal grill, hammock, Cornhole, and Ladderball. Downstairs, the recreation area includes a foosball table for evenings or rainy days.

The home is located in the quiet village of Norwood, just 8 miles south of Charlevoix and approximately 45 minutes north of Traverse City. From here, you can easily explore some of Northern Michigan's best destinations, including Sleeping Bear Dunes, Castle Farms, wineries, farm stands, golf courses, Lake Charlevoix, Torch Lake, and Mackinac Island.

Fisherman's Island State Park is also nearby, with a county park approximately half a mile north of the property connecting into the surrounding natural area.

Boaters have several options nearby, including launch sites on Lake Charlevoix and Torch Lake, as well as Norwood Park just down the road for access to Lake Michigan.

Spend the day exploring Northern Michigan, head into Charlevoix for shopping and dining, play a round of golf, visit a winery, or simply stay home.

Grab a chair, settle into the hammock, listen to Lake Michigan roll onto the shore, and watch the sun disappear over the water.

This is Northern Michigan at its best.

This was exactly what we were looking for: lovely, updated home; surrounded by trees; sitting on the lake with a lovely beach; and on a quiet, secluded street. Owner was helpful and responsive to any queries. But mostly, our family (two adults and three teenagers) had a relaxing, peaceful, and enjoyable vacation.

We enjoyed a long weekend stay at the home which was perfect in size and space for our family of 9, comfThe sunsets all nights we were there were amazing. The beach is lovely, though rocky in the water. Bring water shoes if you want to swim It was private, relaxing and the kitchen was well appointed. (The dishwasher was broken so that made for a lot of dishwashing as we ate our meals at home. She apologized, but I specifically rented a place with a dishwasher Couple irritating things. Detached garage was full of trash from previous guests. No beach towels at the beach house. Luckily, we brought some. TV was old and tiny. Not what one would expect for such a lovely and expensive rental.

The house if beautiful, close to the beach with direct access, well stocked with things like towels for showers, blankets on the beds, pillows. There were plenty of fans for the rooms since there is no air conditioning, we brought extra our own as well. The only down side was the fruit flies.

Great location on a dead end road. Only saw the neighbors a few times. Interior was spacious with a kitchen table for 10. Loved sitting in the backyard reading and looking at Lake Michigan. Great rock collecting beach.

We had an incredible time together as a family at this vacation home on Lake Michigan. Everything was great and all of us were able to just relax and enjoy the beach / views. The home and property were exactly as they were shown in the images.

It is a beautiful house and the view. We really enjoyed staying there good location. Was pretty windy when we was there so didn’t get to enjoy sitting out by the lake. We went up there for my niece wedding at castle farm. But if we get a chance to go up there again, we would rent the house again. Can’t say enough about the view.
