1895 Edna Railhouse - The Heart of Central Coast Wine Country

We had a lovely stay at the rail house! Jeromy was very quick to respond with any questions! The house was very well equipped for our group! And in the most lovely location!

The property was easy to find and a short distance from the airport. Check-in was very easy. The kitchen was clean and had all the silverware, dishes, pots, pans, etc. we needed. The lemon press was fun to use.

Stayed with my family for a few days. Awesome place! Was easy to swim and enjoy everything with the open floor plan! Love the historical part, but as up to date as they come! Wonderful!! 5 stars! A true GEM of a house.

Everything about this property and our stay was fantastic. The main floor bedroom is very spacious. All the beds were comfortable. The room with the two twin beds has a good amount of space but the beds are small and the ceiling is a little low. It was not a problem for us because we had people under 5’5” staying in that room but may be an issue for tall people.There are no closets which again was not an issue for us. We did quite a bit of cooking and the kitchen had everything we needed. There are so many bathrooms and while the upstairs showers are a little small they were all clean and well maintained including the outdoor/pool bathroom. The main living area is large and bright. The outdoor area is amazing - clean, spacious and had sunny areas and shaded areas. The barbecue worked well. Some other reviews commented on noise from the highway and while you do hear it outside in the pool area, if you play some music it was enough to drown it out. We didn’t think the highway noise was an issue indoors. The location is about 15 minutes from downtown SLO. The house is off a busy road and the driveway sneaks up on you. We had a gathering for our son’s graduation and tied balloons to the mailbox so guests could find it easily. Our guests all commented on what a great find the house was. Questions were answered in a very timely the management was prepared and accommodating. The picture on the listing are accurate. I would highly recommend this property.

Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, quick response from owner, close to San Luis ObispoCons: ZERO comfortable places to sit: couch is low to floor, uncomfortable, and needs replaced, & only 1 small hard leather chair and 2 other hard wood chairs with minimal pillows. (Disappointing that there is literally no where to sit comfortably with family/friends), road noise is loud and we had construction at a building on the same property the entire time we were there. Other buildings on the property affect ambiance of main home.

Gorgeous property. Everything was super easy regarding check in. The house was perfect for our bachelorette weekend.

We had a lovely family stay right after Christmas. The house is large and clean with many pluses. The Edna Valley and San Luis Obispo area are beautiful and fun to visit with small wineries, great restaurants, and beautiful scenery. The owner was very helpful and made some excellent winery and restaurant recommendations. The house had some interesting and attractive features. The common areas (kitchen, living, and dining areas) were clean and attractive. Great to have a welcoming place for our dog. There were a few negatives. We were hoping to enjoy a quiet, bucolic experience at the house but were disappointed by the annoying busy highway noise which was most noticeable in the master bedroom and the pool/patio area. One of the bedrooms is sized for very small people - which was not a good fit for our tall adult son. We also were not able to get the sauna to heat up. But all in all a very pleasant vacation.

This is our second time staying here . Our 3 kids go to cal poly & this home is wonderful to enjoy time together . The kitchen, bbq, pool & spa are always a hit for us . This year we celebrated our twins graduation from cal poly , we had friends & family for the big day & the home accommodated us very well . The owners are very responsive & fair. I’m sure we will be back :)

Great place. the wedding was at Biddle Ranch and it couldn't be closer. Had all the Groomsmen lounge at the pool before getting ready for the event. Perfect for this! Two items of note: 1. We were missing were hangers. Each room had a single hook so we had to buy hangers to use the hook for our dresses etc. and 2. The stairs are a bit steep to get to the bedrooms so probably not great for elderly. Minor details but good to know. Would definitely recommend. Lovely weekend!!
