'The Ferns' is very spacious, some say like the 'tardis'. Beautifully furnished and positioned in this lovely village. Two sitting rooms, a snug, three woodburners, a large dining room with Aga and a separate kitchen.

There are numerous original features, throughout including the pamment floor. We have taken great pride in the house and have made it a place where we want to spend time with our friends. We have not furnished it with 'rentals' or small children in mind but as a place for us and everyone to enjoy and hopefully keep enjoying over the coming years.

Children are welcome, however please bear in mind that their are numerous antiques in the house.

We may potentially be able to cater to wheel chair user/s. Please contact us for further information to confirm your requirements.

A fantastic pub, less than a minutes walk away.

The sea can be heard from our lovely gardens.

The front garden is enclosed by a wooden picket fence with gravel pathway leading to the front door and side, with mature shrub borders and rose garden. Gated access leading round to the rear with a secret brickweave patio area and raised beds. There is a brick wall enclosing the garden with hedging above. An enchanting garden to the rear mainly laid to lawn with mature trees and shrub borders. Please help yourselves to the bountiful figs when ready to eat.

A further secluded gravelled area with pergola provides ideal secluded dining area.

A car is recommended but not essential.

Darsham is the nearest stain approx four miles away approximately two hours from London Liverpool Street Station.

The first, and most important, thing to know about Ferns is that it is NOT a holiday rental. You know, those rentals with exactly 6 knives, 6 forks, 6 plates etc. This is Henry and Molly’s home. And it is an old building dating from the sixteenth century. (Don’t worry, there have been some improvements since!) So it is quirky, eccentric, full of stuff and very, very comfortable. We rented it for two weeks over Christmas/ New Year 25/26, with varying amounts of children and grandchildren and they all loved it.The kitchen is more than fully equipped; all possible electric gadgets, pots and pans in excess, extremely varied crockery and implements that looked more like medieval torture instruments. The completely modern downstairs shower was a delight, especially as it was permanently heated and it was a bit chilly outside. Three very comfortable reception rooms. Be careful with the wood burner in the TV room as it is incredibly good at heating the room and can require the opening of windows to cool the room down if one is over enthusiastic with the logs! All the bedrooms were very comfortable, with duvets to die for.50 yards from a good pub, and 50 yards from the beach. What more could you want?A marvellous time was had by all, and many thanks to Henry who was always available to solve any problems that arose.

A beautiful and character-ful property, lots of curated, restful spaces, superb location very near the sea, with a wonderful secluded garden. Highly recommended.
