The Hen House is a cozy vacation home for enjoying the truly tranquil surroundings this place has to offer. Located on the coast between Port Angeles and Sequim, you have easy and convenient access to the Olympic Mountains, National Parks, and local attractions. If you choose to stay close to home, you have a private trail with beach access, about a 5 min hike along the creek to a lagoon, where the creek meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you stay indoors, you have many amenities including WiFi, cable TV, washer/dryer, kitchen dishes and utensils. It is equipped with everything you will need to stay for a weekend or even for a month at a time. It has clean, late model appliances including a glass top range and a dishwasher and all of the cooking utensils, cookware, dishes and glassware that you will need to fully enjoy your meals. You will want to barbecue outdoors on the grill and share your meals on the porch watching the sunsets and the wildlife that is all around. The cozy, comfortable couch is perfect for relaxing indoors and enjoying the T.V. and stereo or just reading a good book. The quality front loading laundry set is there for your convenience and the bathroom offers a garden tub as well as a shower. The queen size bed and the single bed in the second bedroom will accommodate three people very comfortably.

You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hen House.

What I liked? It was peaceful and quiet and had all the necessary items required for the stay. What I didn’t like? The cleanliness was subpar, we saw a rat in the kitchen under the oven and dishwasher area. I also saw spiders in the bathroom attached to the room at the front (the one with twin bed) Also one of the doors of the front bathroom doesn’t lock properly.

The property is an older trailer in a wonderful spot along the coast line. All of the other trailers are very well kept with manicured lawns with lots of deer grazing around the property. The inside of the trailer is definitely dated to the 70's and 80's but everything works and the appliances are fairly updated. Extremely clean inside and out. The location is excellent for walking and hiking. And it is extremely laid back and quiet in this area. Close to two towns (about 15 minutes to either one.) We had a wonderful time staying here and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. If you are looking for a comfortable, safe, quiet, and convenient location then this is a great choice.

It is as shown in the pictures. The mobile was older but clean. It is on a dirt road, which usually means a lot of dust, but they had everything nice and tidy. The shower in the master needed tightening as it leaked. I left a note. These things happen. It was well stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, fans (it got hot and these were nice to have). The park itself is super clean and quiet. Perfect for walks or just relaxing. So many deer! There was a bald eagle we saw a few times. If you book an older mobile home and complain, its on you. It really is as pictured. My only concern was thw beach access. It would have been nice to know it was a bit of a challenge to walk. Both my sisters have mobility issues and it would have been out of the question. Just the stairs at the beginning, though a hand raiil is provided, are quite steep. I am a hiker and it was fine for me, but many people could not handle this trail. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I took picks heading back up from the beach. I will see ot it lets me post. Hard to tell from the picks how narrow some of it is or hapw steep some of the steps are. Over all, i would stay here again. Just plan on driving to a different beach access, of you have mobitily issues.

Very quiet location in a rural type neighborhood, next to the ocean. We had wonderful walks to ocean lookout benches, and the trail to the beach. There is an eagle nest close by, and several private planes gave us a show! Next door neighbors were friendly and kind. Easy access to local food store, and many places in the Olympic Ntl forest. Kitchen was roomy, tv and internet worked great, comfy bed and linens. Would recommend a change of shower head in the bigger bathroom. It's way too large for a 5'5 person - the small area made for a difficult wash. But the other shower worked great. Didn't meet the owner, but I thank them for a delightful stay!

As chicken owners ourselves we were impressed by how much effort the owners put into the theme. A nice little house, a bit dated but otherwise comfortable. The property was fun with some nice views, a private trail, a resident herd of deer and great flowers. Overall recommend if you need a quiet place to call home while you explore the area.

I think the VBRO / Expedia integration isn’t working well. I didn’t get any confirmation email, so there was a bit of confusion at first in finding and accessing the property. However upon calling to confirm, the manager was super nice and we got all squared away! Great manufactured some in a quiet small park a small hike away from an amazing beach and 20 minutes from Olympic National Park. A few problems with the door and keys, but the place seemed spacious for its size. Overall we liked it a lot and plan on coming back to “The Hen House”. I think I’ll just book through VRBO next time.

My family of three adults stayed here because I was running the North Olympic Discovery Half Marathon, and the location was just a mile from start. Marjory was very responsive to my questions, and the place matched the photos and description perfectly. It's a mobile home with retro charm that esp. appealed to the Gen-Xers in the family. The beds were super comfy and the towels were fluffy. We took a couple of lovely walks on nature trails to looks outs in the mobile home park, and really enjoyed the pretty, rural drive into Sequim where we had excellent meals at The Oak Table (breakfast) and Tedescos (carbo-loading pasta dinner).

The house provided for our needs as we had 3 adults. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only recommendation would be to get a newer couch and couch pillows as they were a little worn. Other than that, this place was amazing. We saw adult and juvenile eagles. So many adult deer and fawns. The beach access was perfect. Such a great place to stay to be quiet and connect with nature.

This was a fine place to spend a few days on the Olympic Peninsula. The space is part of what is essentially an appealingly manicured and nicely kept up grounded mobile home park overlooking an impressive water vista. Each lot seems to be themed with a bird motif like sparrows, peacocks, and eagles – our Hen House was done up with cute chicken-and-egg decor! We had a very short walk to the main viewing point, where we saw an absolutely sensational sunset, viewed boats in the distance, and spied a couple bald eagles roosting in nearby tall trees. The nature trails are neat and worth walking, though some of them were kind of steep. The beach trail would be pretty tough for those who have any kind of mobility issues, but the destination is worth it if you can do it. There’s a little lagoon with croaking frogs and a beach that’s part sand and part rocks that has big pieces of driftwood on it for that classic PNW look and feel.We appreciated the well-appointed kitchen, especially suited for coffee and tea drinkers. Everything we needed was provided for in the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms. The master suite had a really comfy bed and a nice soaking tub.The deck gave us wonderful views of snow-capped peaks. The location is highly accessible to Olympic National Park. Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Falls, and Hurricane Ridge are all within an hour’s drive. We were well satisfied with our lodging choice.

The Hen House is located in a quiet senior living trailer park with about 20 older, but well-maintained, trailers. The area is peaceful, with access to some lovely nature trails and an overlook of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Just minutes from the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge and about 20 minutes from Port Angeles, it made for a convenient home base during our tour of the Olympic Peninsula. The trailer itself is somewhat dated and had a faint musty smell, but it was very clean and thoughtfully decorated with charming chicken-themed touches throughout. The living room furniture is on the older side, and the well-worn couch could definitely use replacing. The outdoor space, however, was a highlight—serene and full of wildlife. We frequently saw deer wandering nearby, and were even lucky enough to spot a bald eagle landing in the tree just outside the home. There’s a trail leading down to the water, but be aware—it’s steep and narrow in places, better suited for the adventurous. We made the hike and were rewarded with a quiet, secluded beach bordered by dramatic cliffs.Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would be happy to return.
