The host was forced to give us the code to get into the house the day before we were scheduled to arrive. There was no heat in the house and there was no hot water in the house until we figured out that the breaker had been tripped. When we took a shower we had to check the breaker each time. Also, there was not one fire alarm in the house.

No hot water and constantly running toilet. The response from the owner was to flip the switch on the breaker box, then we would have just about 3 minutes of hot water. After contacting the owners several times, we were told due to New Years Eve and New Years Day, no one could help us until January 2. This would have been 3 days without hot water and a running toilet. Not to mention the place is a dump. No Wi-Fi and remote control to the TV missing. I would never recommend this place. It was worse than terrible.

It can be expensive to stay in the Keys, so when we saw this place, we were excited. It looks really cute in the pictures and has a good location, although not real close to water. We decided saving the money to sacrifice being on a beach or having an ocean view was worth it. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and have always been blown away, regardless of price point. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met this time. For reference, we had 4 people in our group and stayed for 6 nights.Good things:LocationOutdoor areasNot so good things:Cockroach running out of cabinet on day one. Large dead one on the floor of kitchen. GROSS!Broken cabinets in kitchenSliding door did not lock and makeshift solution did not workNo dishtowels in kitchenThe faucet in the kitchen did not work properly. Oftentimes you had to press the button on the spray nozzle to even get the water to come on.Towels in bathrooms were wet as though they were washed, but not completely dried.Only two washcloths in entire place. We had 4 people...No extra toilet paper. We had to buy our own. Walls had lots of dents and were dirty. The internet wasn't working, but the owner fixed that for us quickly.I believe this is a case of you get what you pay for, but some of these things are basic expectations for any rental. Hopefully this owner will fix some of the issues for the next renters.

Our stay was pleasant. Contrary to previous reviews there was hot water & no termites! The place is not fancy however it is adequately maintained and was quiet & perfect for what we were looking for. Host answered all of our communication. Would stay again

this is the FURTHEST thing from a VACATION rental. If you want working water and a toilet I don't recommend staying here. The gentleman property manager seems nice and helpful but the woman is awful. I would never recommend. I almost left 4 days in and I probably should have. I DO NOT recommend this property and wish I had seen a review like this before booking.

The property was initially fine and appeared as listed. Our troubles began when we woke up and found termite frass covering many of the dishes in the cabinets, the hot water no longer worked, and the dryer would not dry our clothes. We contacted the owner and were told that there were not termites because the wood was new (there are termites), the hot water works we just needed to run it for 5 minutes as it is a tankless unit (after I had taken a cold shower and washed dishes and run the water for many minutes), and that we could dry our clothes outside (it was raining). The owner continued to not be helpful as we requested to leave a day early and be reimbursed for the final night. As we were leaving a City Works employee came by to deliver a final notice regarding the water bill. All in all, I would not recommend staying here. If you do, be sure to ask whether the termite problem has been solved, whether the dryer works, if the water bill has been paid, and if the water heater has been fixed.
