We enjoyed our stay at Alma Ranch over Thanksgiving week. The bed was comfortable. This RV is nothing fancy, but it is workable. The desert views are lovely! There was only a thin blanket on the bed, with two small blankets to add, but since we had our daughter sleeping on the little futon, she needed those. Nighttime temperatures dropped into the 40s, so we were all cold. Bring blankets! There is one space heater, which was great for the bedroom, but left our daughter without a heat source. My husband tried turning on the heat on the thermostat, but the noise from the unit or generator was unbearable! There were three bath towels and washcloths, but only one hand towel. The dishes were not washed well by the last visitors. The owners provided one gallon of drinking water. We used 7 gallons for the three of us over our 4-day visit. There is a large saucepan, but the small saucepan was once upon a time non-stick, so I didn't want to use it in case more bits of coating would end up in our food. I was able to make-do. The cleanliness issues included the floor being in need of a good mopping. I recognize that mice are going to be a problem out in a remote area like that. I did see old mouse droppings on the kitchen window sill and one morning I saw fresh droppings on the counter and in a clean paper bowl that I had left on the counter. Not the property owner's fault. Just letting y'all know what to expect.

Well kept rv with all the necessities in an isolated area. Very nice for star gazing. About 1 hr to Big Bend entrance.

It was very smooth and exactly as advertised. A/C was working really well. Has a nice 1 person shower and bathroom. Has running water, but on catchment system so encouraged appropriate water conservation. Overall Wilma was great, very communicative and helpful. We had no issues. The only minor thing was VRBO sent a message with an access code, but in reality it was the code Wilma sent in direct message that was what we needed to unlock the door. Not her fault, just a touch confusing. Overall highly recommend, and a beautiful property!

We stayed here three nights while exploring Big Bend National Park and loved the desert panorama, the exquisite views of the night sky, and a quiet place to sleep. Wilma is an amazing host and replied quickly to all of our communication. A great stay!

If you want peace and quiet, this is the spot for you. Almost 360 degrees of amazing views, not another light visible at night for at least ten miles, just you and the desert. Advice to anyone staying here; buy groceries in Alpine before heading here, bring your own entertainment, and be accustomed to what an RV/Camper is like. Yes, it can smell like sewage there in the morning and at night. However, you are in the middle of the desert and running water is a scarce commodity. Most places use a catchment system or composting for waste. It’s just how it is and will be. The RV is clean though and the smell is mostly noticeable outside. Also, the description of the TV and DVD player is still accurate two years later, which is a disappointment. The DVDs are scratched, the player is so old I’m not sure if it really works. So bring an HDMI cable and you can connect your laptop to the TV. To be honest, I’m kind of glad it didn’t work because we spent even more time admiring the beauty of Big Bend and having great conversation. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly great, seriously an A+ rating for that. Also, for anyone complaining about driving to “anything to do in Big Bend”…that’s true no matter where you stay in Terlingua. It’s true no matter where you want to go anywhere out there. You are going to spend a lot of time driving anywhere. Chill out, enjoy the view while you drive. I’d probably give this 4.5 stars as a true score. We would 100% stay again, even if the DVD player still doesn’t work. You honestly don’t need it.

We enjoyed our stay. The camper was clean and very quiet. We were a bit surprised at how far it was from Terlingua. Thank you..............

Property is off a main road and easy to access. We liked that we had a stove and full size refrigerator. The property and trailer was clean We enjoyed our stay. The only problem we had is that the toilet stopped up the last evening we were there. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

This simple property was a great home base for our trip to Big Bend! Directions made it easy enough to find. All of the visitors centers were within 1.5 hours (Chisos was ~1 hr 10 min). The stars were AMAZING. We were a little chilly at night, would recommend bringing extra blankets!

I can't recommend this property. Trash laying on the ground right outside the door. Smell of sewage when outside and entrance steps so deteriorated I was concerned about falling through. The description said there were DVDs and a player for movie viewing, however the description failed to say the DVDs are so scratched they don't work.
