AU A long winding drive meanders between the hills and into the valley beyond. At the valley's heart is 'Wildwood', a world of natural beauty, a sanctuary created for birds and animals and those guests who choose to make Wildwood their own.Wildwood The Privliege of Privacy.
The guesthouse is a modern building constructed in the traditional style of a 19th-century country homestead. Reflects the character and natural charm of the district, crafted of fine local timbers and pise. Comprising four bedrooms - one king, two doubles and one room with twin beds. Each bedroom has private facilities and French doors opening onto broad verandahs. Fine damask bedlinen, white fluffy towels and beautiful soap for your pleasure. There is a formal dining room, spacious lounge and sunroom with a grand timbered umbrella ceiling and a kitchen with genuine country ambience. Eurunderee The ghost of Henry Lawson is everywhere at Eurunderee, and the Wildwood property is the valley he wrote about as Sapling Gully. For the bush bard, Sapling Gully was synonymous with the hardships of gold mining. Today, Wildwood is synonymous with gracious country living and the new gold rush is the rush for Mudgee's liquid gold - the chardonnays, semillons and sauvignon blancs that are beginning to challenge the district's famous full-flavoured reds.Notwithstanding our trip to Sydney.... the World was encircled by the Mudgee Hills, with Eurunderee as a centre. Mudgee, the town, five miles away was inside the World: Sydney was somewhere on the edge of the World, or just behind. I used to describe Sydney as a place 170 miles from Eurunderee.Henry Lawson

We all enjoyed our 2 nights at Wildwood County Guesthouse which is situated close to town. We stayed on a very cold weekend in June and found the house to be quite comfortable with warm bedding, oil heaters in the bedrooms and a fireplace. The breakfast items were very generous with extra items on the table and in the fridge when we arrived. There was a bowl of fresh fruit, fresh herbs from the garden and assorted breads. The house itself is beautifully decorated and there is a lot to see on the grounds with kangaroos roaming and many native birds. Rob made us feel very welcome. He was very responsive when we had an issue with the hot water which was sorted promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Wildwood.

We had a really wonderfull experience at Wildwood Guesthouse. The accommodation was perfect for us (4 women) and the setting was truly beautiful. The peaceful surrounds lends itself to an inspiring getaway. Rob, our host has been very accommodating. His attention to detail was excellent. The breakfast provided was great! Wildwood is situated not far from Mudgee, which has so many things to offer. We are so happy to have stayed there and would highly recommend this as a destination! We will return! Thank you Rob, it was wonderful!!!

The property was extremely well maintained and the breakfasts were great. Rob was a fantastic host and nothing was a problem. From speaking with people in Mudgee we made the best selection for a relaxing time away. Will definitely be going back.

Couldn't have been better. Beautiful house in idyllic location. If that wasn't enough then Rob the owner was one of the most helpful and friendly people you could hope to meet. He couldn't do enough for us and really enhanced the enjoyment of our stay. He cooks up a mean brekkie too!
