Loon lake Mountain trailhead, a nice day hike, is three and a half miles down the road. The recently maintained and well-marked trail takes you up to one of the original Adirondack fire towers at the summit. This hike is about 6 miles round trip but offers amazing views of the wilderness. More strenuous hikes like Debar and Ampersand Mountain are 40 minutes away. For hard core adventurers, the high peaks wilderness is less than an hour away.

There are some great restaurants in town, lots of cool shops and many tourist attractions. Don’t forget to make a stop at Hex & Hops Brewery & Taproom just 15 mins away in neighboring Bloomingdale for some amazing craft beers and seasonal live musical entertainment. Maybe take a trip back in time and ride the rails on the ADK Railroad. The Wild Center in Tupper Lake is a nature museum, which is fun for the whole family and is located about 35 minutes away. Even closer is the Paul Smith's Visitors Interpretive Center, which is a great place to see wildlife in nature and learn about the local ecology. The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake is a gem, a great place for kids to learn about and experience the history and exceptional nature of the entire ADK region. We had a lovely stay at Camp Nuss. The house was extremely clean and very cozy; we felt right at home immediately! The area was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and the wood stove in the living room every night. This is our 11th year coming to the Adirondacks and this was our best fishing yet! We are strongly considering returning to Camp Nuss next summer!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The bedrooms were spacious and the screened in porch was a great place to enjoy some shade on the hot days. Our kids (ages 13 and 11) loved being on the water - swimming and using the paddle boat and kayaks.

12 of us stayed here for a 50th wedding anniversary trip. House is big with lots of bedrooms. Good size space for dinner and hanging out. Property is awesome. Bass Lake was delightful to hang out on. We spent tons of time kayaking, fishing, and floating in the lake. Waking up early and having coffee on the porch overlooking the lake was a great start to every day. Fire pit was a close second favorite by the lake. We also used Loon Lake which this property has access to and that was really nice too. We all loved this property, highly try, and would stay there again!

This house was perfect for our big family (14 people ages 11 - 80) ADK getaway. It had ample room for folks to have their own activities while bringing us together in the dining area, porch, and lovely private beach plus fire ring. Bass Lake is beautiful for swimming and fishing. With nary a neighbor in site, this truly felt like a private ADK getaway. The house was clean and nicely equipped with hammocks, boats, ping pong, fooze ball, grill, open porch and screen porch. We had a great time!

This is a beautiful remote spot that met the needs of our family. Some of us were happy to stay put for the whole week. Others ventured out for hiking mountain climbing and cliff diving. Some of us enjoyed the historic sites in Saranac Lake.

The accommodations were excellent. The interior has been updated and it’s very appealing. The exterior matches the neighborhood. We kayaked Loon Lake and biked the area. All the neighbors were nice and helpful. There are no coffee shops or grocery stores nearby. It’s 18 miles north for a gas station. There’s plenty to see in the area if you haven’t been there before but too remote to do it again…unless you’re looking for solitude.
