Since you're probably coming to enjoy the great outdoors, here are a few other amenities offered:
A large furnished deck, fire pit overlooking the lake, kayaks (4 adult & 1 child) w/paddles & lifejackets and a sledding hill for the winter months. Speaking of winter, bring your snowmobiles to enjoy miles of Sawyer County trails. Garage and heated shop available for your sleds & gear. Our driveway has a large parking pad for your trailer. ATV trails are also nearby and plentiful! A golf course is across the lake, just a 5-minute drive, and the 3-million acre Chequamegon-Nicolet Nat'l Forest offers hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, foraging or hunting. We doubt you'll ever feel like leaving, but just in case, the adorable town of Hayward lies just to our west and is a great place to shop, eat and enjoy the local artisan community. The lumberjack show is a must see and we highly recommend a stop at 3 Fly Sisters Taps & Wine on Main Street!
We think you'll find our lodge to be a perfect spot to gather with family and friends! We are eager to welcome you to Hunter Lake...again & again!
Note: The hot tub residing on our deck is not available for guest use due to WI licensing authority. Our apologies!

Wonderful house that easily fit 4 couples! Enjoyed sitting on the large deck and enjoying the peaceful surroundings!
Loved the stay! Overall great experience!
My family had a wonderful time, fishing, watching the wildlife and just relaxing on the beautiful deck. The grandkids loved seeing the turtles by the dock each day. The home was beautiful nestled in the woods. Communication was great! We would recommend this place. Thank you for letting us stay.
We had great family time! Especially enjoyed using the kayaks to explore the lake and 2 rivers. The kitchen, huge dining table and great room was perfect for puzzles, lots of cards, craft activities and great food. Enjoyed the screened porch dining area as well as the nice deck.
Our stay at NeverSummer was relaxing and a time for our family to reconnect. My four kids, spouses and five grandchildren ages 4- 18 enjoyed the private lakeside retreat in the woods. The accommodations were clean and Laura was great to work with. This was our second time at NeverSummer. We love it there.
My family stayed for a snowmobile weekend. The house was great for the 6 of us and our dog. The only negative was the driveway with all the snow they have. Was not able to turn around with our 23 foot enclosed trailer. Had to back on and out.
We had a multifamily getaway for a long weekend, just what we needed! Kids were aged 9-13, and they had a great time. It was laid out nicely with one family sleeping in the multi-bed room in the walk out basement, and the other family taking the rooms on the main level and loft. The kitchen was fully ready to handle what we wanted to do. Foosball tournaments, great indoor fireplace, outdoor bonfire. Views of the lake from the deck were great for morning coffee! Excursions included visiting the candy stores & shopping in Hayward, with some good pizza at Coop's. Grocery store in Hayward (Marketplace foods) is what we also used, a nice store. We also spend a morning hiking at hiking at Copper Falls State Park, which was a good hike for us. Lunch on the way pack was at Chippewa in Clam Lake, we didn't want to wait for the pizza (Chicago style takes some time to cook), but the sandwiches were tasty! Our families loved our visit!
This property has such great features, such as the two screened in porches, great kitchen and dining room, and plenty of sleeping options. The selection of 5 kayaks was awesome! A heads up that the paths down the lake are steep and can be slippery when wet. Otherwise this property is a repeat for sure
This is a great cabin to hold our annual family get together for Labor Day. The kids had fun paddling around in the kayaks and fishing off of the dock. The large decks and screened porches were wonderful spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery. The host, Stacy, was very responsive and made sure we enjoyed our time. Many wonderful memories were made!
Owners were extremely proactive in making sure we were well informed throughout our stay. Well furnished home that had plenty of areas for people to find their own space. The napping porch during a day full of rain showers was pure bliss.
Stacy and Mike's home was super comfortable, and had a vibe of hospitality and warmth. It felt like a lot of intention has gone into making this a beautiful place to chill and have fun. We enjoyed sunrise coffee on the expansive deck, kayaking on the river/lake walking the dog under the canopy of pines along the quiet road, grilling on the propane-lit charcoal grill, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and swimming at Bluegill lake just a short drive up the road. (Thanks for the tip!) On a couple rainy days, we enjoyed the great game and book selection.
Beautiful home on a quiet lake. Wonderful attention to detail. We enjoyed every minute!
Was a lovely home close to our favorite places. Quiet lake. Lots of room. Happy family
We had a group of 6 adults and 3 kids and all loved it! It was such a peaceful and relaxing location! Loved being able to sit on the deck with coffee, go out in the kayaks, feed the turtles, eat in the beautiful screened porch, and relax in the hammock, on the deck, or in the many sitting areas inside the house. Loved all the extra touches that made it feel like a home! And Stacy was so quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay! Definitely would recommend!!
What an extraordinary place for a quiet family gathering. Lots of wonderful touches and amenities to make it a memorable experience. Enjoyed the clam and peaceful lake and gathering around the fire. Stacy is a wonderful host.
My family and I couldn’t be happier with our stay at the lodge. The house was amazing and the view and access to the lake couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed much time at the fire pit a loved the use of the kayaks. Finally, perhaps most appreciated, our hosts were always courteous and quick to answer any questions we had about the area. The binder of information they have prepared for their guests’ reference is beyond words. Overall, we rated this our favorite family vacation to date. Thank you so much!!
Reception was an issue, but that’s to be expected. If you rely heavily on Wi-Fi like we do, you need to bring an portable Wi-Fi hotspot. A couple of minor things here and there, but overall we really enjoyed our stay!
The owner was very helpful and kind during our stay! She informed me what to expect with the house and activities to do near by. We got a free coupon book that we used during our stay and got surprised with cinnamon rolls our second to last day! (Which was perfect because we didn’t plan a breakfast for the day we left). Every time I asked a question she answered it as soon and she could. I will definitely stay here again soon!
The description of the property is accurate and the house is in excellent condition. When I contacted the owner, Stacy, about the shortage of dishwasher pods, a new supply was delivered right away. Stacy was super helpful and always responded to my texts right away. Our family of 9 had plenty of room to spread out, and we especially enjoying the screened in dining area. We also really enjoyed the kayaks and we all paddled daily. We would absolutely come back to this property again.
All nine of us couldn't have been more pleased! It had been advertised as being in Hayward, it wasn't but Winter was only a 25 minute drive away. The lake by the house wasn't for swimming but a fine lake (Bluegill) was only 5 miles away, we had lots of fun there. We've been on a number of family vacations, this home was by far the most relaxing, fun and lovely accommodations we've ever had! The screened in sitting porch was a favorite--surrounded by plants, two humming bird feeders plus a beautiful view of trees and sky!
Had a wonderful time at this great place on Hunter Lake. We were close to mountain biking, the lake and Hayward. The house was perfect for my family, my brother's family and my parents. Stacy (host) was super easy to work with and made our stay that much better with all her ideas and hospitality.
