We spent the weekend here for Merlefest. The place clean, quiet & beautiful. The back porch by the creek & fire pit was perfect to end our nights. Thanks to the owners for making our stay perfect!

A great place to stay and everything was as advertised. Each unit has a patio or deck overlooking the River and are a nice spots to hang out with morning coffee or a good book. You really could have a great quiet get-away weekend here. Just be aware that the restaurant and tasting room are only open Thursday through Sunday. Also if you have a choice between the two lower level units, pick “Cedar”. The air conditioning compressor for the upstairs unit is right next to the patio of the “aspen” unit and is quite noisy when on. Well appointed and maintained facility, but a little more attention could be given to dusting of surfaces.

Tom and Josephine and the entire staff is very welcoming. The property is lovely and very well maintained, clean, nothing needed painting. The food in the restaurant was very good and the wines are delicious. Beautiful and peaceful get away.

The main problem is not with the property because I never stayed there. The big problem is with the booking agency. I booked the wrong month. I called the owner Josephine and she said to write her a note of cancellation and rebook, which I did. She later said that the booking agency would not refund my first booking money even though I booked again.

We had a great stay! Secluded and quiet. We were there while the restaurant was closed which was unfortunate but probably kept the property from being as busy as it could be. Will definitely consider going back for future trips. We ate dinner in Elkin and Wilkesboro. Great restaurants in both towns and super close to Stone Mountain for a solid day of hiking/site seeing. 100% recommend.

A friend told us to visit Roaring River and we were not disappointed. The room was great, the restaurant was great and the wine was great!! If you like dessert, you must try the wine milkshake (I was hesitant but it was delicious), and the funnel cake fries. Both were excellent!! We will be returning!!

I could’ve sat by the river forever… The only thing that would’ve made it better was cooler weather. We will definitely be back. This place is awesome.

The location is pretty and very quiet. The kitchen was well stocked. We appreciated knowing the coffee maker needed ground coffer (as opposed to pods) so we packed accordingly. Cell service (verizon) was problematic for us. Internet was out when we arrived. The host was responsive once we reported the issue Bring cards, games, puzzles etc for entertainment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Roaring River Vineyards, there were 12 of us, a mix of family and friends celebrating Sept/Oct birthdays, we rented all but one of the cabins and one stayed in their RV. The gathering space was perfect for dinner on Friday, a tasting at the vineyard Saturday followed by early dinner at Chez Josephine then birthday celebrations in the gathering space that evening. Will definitely stay her again!

Had a wonderful weekend in the mountains with my wife. Hiked some trails in stone mountain state park. Enjoyed the sounds of the river while we grilled dinner and relaxed for the evening. Good location. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
