We came for stargazing. The lodge had a tower next to it which was perfect for us. We were able to climb the tower at night and enjoy the view. It was spacious on top, with a large table and benches. We brought up our own beach chairs to be more comfortable. The lodge is extremely private with open fields all around and gave a real feeling of getting away from it all. There is a fire pit outside and a fireplace inside. Beautiful time.

We very much enjoyed our stay. It’s a nice cabin. However, there were a few safety concerns: the hand rail for the stairway has a board under the rail which makes it impossible to grip. There is essentially no rail to hold. Removing that board is recommended. Also, the observation deck was probably pretty nice 25 years ago but it is no longer safe. The railing is completely shot and I’m not sure what is holding up the back landing on the stairway. There is no post! It is sagging and at some point will fall off the building. I recommend closing the observation deck until repairs are made before someone gets hurt. By the way, I’m a contractor and build structures and decks for a living.

From the moment we pulled up to the property, we were awed by the view. This cabin is so perfect for stargazing! Walking in, we were reassured by the extremely clean scent and appearance. Its a cabin, so there will always be the occasional bug or cobweb, but the bedding, floors and surfaces were excellent. The bed and living room furniture were clean and reasonably comfortable, especially for a pet-friendly rental. Benn and his wife were wonderful hosts!

Quiet and quaint. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Great place to unplug and unwind.

When we arrived there was a smell of a rotting carcass, which we found to be a dead mouse in a trap. The house was 90 degrees because the owner hadn’t turned on the ac. The owner asked us to take care of the dead mouse, which we did, but each morning we found mouse droppings throughout the kitchen area. There is an active mouse infestation as we found 5-10 new droppings in one area each morning. If money wasn’t tight we would have gone to another place but we have heard of the reputation of these services not being helpful refunding when it’s deserved and we simply cant afford it, so me and my family got to be grossed out every meal here on our vacation. Way too much money for this lazy attitude. Do better. Despite this, the property is beautiful and the observation tower is really fun.

If you are not familiar with the nuance of PA roadways... this spot will expose you to the finest public access roads that will take you back to the days of horse drawn-only access. All along the way pondering, why would a settler have lived out here?. Answer, farmer or hunter. The view is spectacular and bring your adventure spirit for the local activity of your choosing.

This cabin was an amazing experience for us. It was cozy, clean, and in a good location. Private but not too far away from state parks and town. It even had a star gazing tower that you could go up and view the stars. I would stay here again and would highly recommend this cabin.

I chose this cabin because it was one of the few that offered a wood burning fireplace and it made a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend perfect. The cabin itself was perfectly quaint and rustic. It was clean and inviting. Didn’t explore the surrounding area too much as it was snowing but it provided a perfect secluded getaway Positioned where it was in the mountains it was quiet and private. My girlfriend and I are looking to make a tradition out of staying at this location. We were very happy with it.

Had a great time! The lodge was well appointed and even roomier than expected. The listing pictures don't do it justice! The property offered great views of the surrounding hills and valleys. We hope tocome back.
