Stayed Feb 7, 2026My husband and I spent 3 nights. We also rented Marks 14' boat to get us back and forth. This 31' boat is anchor out in a protected bay, it is an older boat that is in need of some love. The canvas is torn. There is only seating in the back of the boat for two. The boat is not well set up for cooking. There is a hot plate, a coffee maker, and a separate generator. A portable toilet. Your host Mark will supply you with all the water & ice. There is a large cooler to keep your food & drinks cold. Mark was always available. We are campers, so we were perfectly fine with the arrangements. We brought out appetizers & we ate out. We were there to explore the main land. I would recommend bringing plates, cups, ect., everything you would like for camping. The boat is perfect for two and the people who are completely comfortable with camping out. You're not getting your hot showers in the morning or your beautiful kitchen. We enjoyed our stay, the beautiful sunsets & our quiet mornings enjoying our coffee before we would head out for the day.

Stayed Jun 20, 2024Simply put, we set out looking for an adventure and that is exactly what we got. Personally, I am of the persuasion that it behooves all humans to read the fine print I mentioned this because Mark does a phenomenal job regarding his disclosure on what to expect. My very first conversation with him prior to our arrival , clarified all I needed to know. During our talk we discussed how nothing is perfect neither him or myself. However, we were in agreement that in life there are indeed perfect moments. That said, we absofreakinglutely experienced some supercalafragilisticexpialidocios moments. To be specific, sunsets & sunrises from the Sas-Sea were breath taking. My suggestion is if you're considering doing this , that you keep in mind the old adage To each thier own. Me & my partner love the outdoors, love camping . IMHO this is Glamping only on a boat. Boy/Girl Scout rules apply BE PREPARED & Better to have it and not need it than to need it & well lol be sh*t outta luck . Also , again as Mark clearly mentions on his listing PLEASE READ...If you're expecting the Hilton....then stay there. I feel It's really important that you're aware.of what this experience offers & what it doesn't. Knowledge is powerful & the only foolish questions (* are the ones.you choose not to ask) Call first, talk to Mark, prior to booking. This will save both the renter & rentee a lot of unnecessary grief. Again within minutes of speaking with Mark I knew we wouldn't be disappointed

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The boat was comfy and located in a peaceful cove. If your adventurous, and, like the description states, not expecting the Hilton, you'll love it. Oh, and if your exceptionally sensitive to mosquitoes, a good number of them found us. There's bug spray on the boat, but may want to bring some of your own too. Our host Mark was very responsive, and helped to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Pirate life! Spending a night on this boat was really unique. The bay is very peaceful, and the sunset/sunrise were impressive. For an adult of average height, the water is shallow enough to touch the bottom. Read the description before booking, because this is more rustic than getting a hotel room. As campers, this was right up our alley. The host left bug spray and drinking water on board for us. I suggest upgrading to the dinghy if you have familiarity with small water craft, it’s just faster and more convenient than the kayak. All said, very pleased with the experience and I plan to book again in the future.

Stayed Jun 23, 2023Awesome experience. Mark was always available to chat with if we needed anything. Amazing memories were made and we were able to get away from the craziness of the city. If you are the hoity toity type, go check into a 5 star Hilton somewhere. If you want an awesome adventure away, this is your place.

Stayed Jan 19, 2026mark was an excellent host , he made sure we were safe , happy , and had everything we needed for our boat . The boat itself is cozy and perfect for some privacy after a busy day out and about , or stay on boat and grill , and get some sun. :)Excellent communication with our host, Mark !! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend over the usual hotel/ motel stays . A fun adventure and we will go back !

Stayed Dec 29, 2025When we arrived we were told we would not be receiving the boat we rented. (classic bait and switch) Instead we were shown to a half sunken hual. There were numerous safety hazzards and sharp edges(sarah gouged her leg on 1 such object).the electricity was questionable at best (none of the outlets worked there was a single cord run from a small generator (which ran out of gas after 20min) through a hatch from the topside down into the galley. The restroom was incredibly disgusting (cartridge toliet overhalf full from the prior renter and the smell permeated through out the entire vessel)The extra services discussed on the phone that he claimed to provide (snorkeling, fishing, sunset boat ride etc.) did not exist. The18ft digny we rented ahead of time specifically to fish and explore the bay and mangoves had issues with the 4hp outboard (prop would immediately cavitate whenever given any throttle so it would only operate at an idle)making it nearly impossible to manage even the short distance from the dock to the boat. The nighttime temps dropped into the low 40's and when we expressed concern for the lack of any kind of heat source or extra blankets we were laughed off and told you'll be okay. That this is glamping I get no problem there. We're avid outdoors people we hunt, fish, camp regularly. Often time backpacking into remote areas. Expectations were that of a 30yr old camper on the water those were not met in anyway. We left at 3am on the 2nd night of a weeklong stay

Stayed Nov 26, 2025We had an amazing holiday vacation over Thanksgiving in the Keys. The Sas-Sea was perfect for our trip, and Mark is an amazing host. He made sure we had everything we needed and stayed in constant contact throughout our trip. Everything was as listed, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and host. We will definitely be back again for another houseboat adventure!

Stayed Apr 2, 2025We had a wonderful stay, it was short but it was wonderful. The boat was everything you need to get away from the busy world we all live in. We had another guy from marks boats stop over and show us a fishing spot. And it’s like nothing you have ever seen before. Overall it’s a great experience that we will definitely want to do again.

Stayed Feb 28, 2025The boat was exactly what we wanted where we wanted it…nice secluded cove with only a few other boats around. The weather was as perfect as the sunset over the mangroves. Mark was the perfect host, giving us a quick tutorial on running the dinghy and more than enough water and ice for the night. It was one of my wife’s favorite nights that week! Thank for everything Mark - we will be sure to come back if the opportunity arises :)

Stayed Mar 12, 2025This was the perfect vacation for us! We stayed there 3 nights. So peaceful out on the water in Mark's boat! It has everything you need and Mark is the best host! He checks on you to see if you have everything you need. We enjoyed fishing and swimming right off the boat and exploring the Everglades at a nearby park. We saw manatees and dolphins near the boat. If you're someone who loves to experience God's beautiful creation first hand, this is the trip for you! I highly recommend Mark's boat!
