The Neighborhood:

☆ The Neighborhood ☆

Centrally-located in the burgeoning Midtown Alley Design District, you'll be minutes away from virtually every major destination in the city. Phenomenal dining and nightlife options within walking distance include world-famous Pappy's Smokehouse, The Southern, Urban Chestnut Brewing, The Fountain on Locust, and many more. Here's a little more about the Midtown Alley Design District from the community's website:

Originally called Automobile Row, Midtown Alley was St. Louis’s prime spot to purchase cars between 1911 and 1955. In 2005, the neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. National Park Service. While none of the original automobile businesses remain, the buildings–many of which were designed by the famed architect Preston Bradshaw–still stand as a reminder of what first made this neighborhood so special in the city of St. Louis.

Today, Midtown Alley is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in St. Louis. New restaurants such as Brennan’s Work and Leisure, Small Batch, and Egg Midtown are opening up next to older neighborhood staples like The Fountain on Locust and Pappy’s Smokehouse. The heart of our neighborhood, however, can be found in the local St. Louis design businesses that call Midtown Alley their home.

Within the past ten years, our neighborhood has entered into a new renaissance, thanks in no small part to the designers, architects, and artists who saw the potential of this seven-block stretch and breathed new life into the area.

Walking down Locust Street, one can feel the creative energy of the neighborhood. New firms pioneering innovative business models are opening their doors next to ice cream shops, modeling agencies, and local barbecue hangouts. This eclectic mix of old and new has become the defining feature of Midtown Alley. As new businesses pop up and students and long-time residents alike flock to Midtown’s residential lofts, there can be no doubt that Midtown Alley is St. Louis’s creative epicenter. Just as Midtown’s past can be seen in the historic buildings lining the sidewalks, the neighborhood’s future is found in the creative businesses that brought these structures back to life.

I wanted a place where my mom, who has mobility issues, could comfortably stay and gather with our family in St. Louis for Christmas. The elevator and the ramp in the front of the building was key for this. We were able to have a few close relatives over for a Christmas meal, conversation and games that we brought. Both bathrooms had walk-in showers. We appreciated the condiments and coffee that were supplied as well.

It was a nice apartment. Very easy check in process with pictures. The water pressure was a little bit low, but other than that it was great!

Loved the ambience. We wanted to be in the downtown area, so I appreciated having the option to have gated parking.

Very clear and detailed communication from Brandon, great value for the space compared to hotel prices—so nice to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms when traveling with others! We mostly used the unit just to sleep in but it was very well stocked, everything was clean and updated. Gated parking was a nice add on option. The neighborhood is very central but felt a little deserted, not necessarily a bad thing because that meant the streets were quiet. Tips for the master bedroom: bring earplugs and sleep mask if you are a light sleeper—The walls are a little thin, could hear people in neighboring units talking at night (they weren’t being excessively loud, just could hear them through the bedroom wall one night). Morning sun also comes in strong through that bedroom window so a sleep mask came in handy. All in all a good stay and I’d happily rent here again.

Perfect location to get to Busch Stadium, the Arch, and great ribs (Pappy’s). The place is a cool modern and the beds comfortable. The property manager was super responsive…whether about how to get into the place (we’d never used that kind of key fob before) to recommendations on food. Made our stay absolutely the best!

The property is very nice. The apartment was quaint. We loved that it was refurbished. My only complaint, being a person with severe asthma, there is an overwhelming cologne like smell that does not go away. Other than this one thing, it was a great stay.

Clean and great feel to this industrial style 2 bedroom loft. Small but roomy and the accomodarions were first class. Would stay here again. You will need either a car or an Uber/lyft app to get around.

Great location which is 10 minutes to everything, and having the secured in & out parking option was amazing. This property is great for couples and in such a fun up and coming neighborhood! We would absolutely stay here again! Our only suggestion would be extra towels but other than that we are sad to leave! Thanks for everything Brandon!

Buggers in the wall and stickiness everywhere put a damper on an otherwise wonderful property. Great location, safe parking, cool space. Just needs a solid deep clean.
