Lake Leelanau, Michigan
First established in 1889, Fountain Point is a timeless American summer resort located on the shores of Lake Leelanau in Northern Michigan. We have 19 family-style cottages and a 14 bedroom hotel. The hotel includes a sweeping front porch that offers shaded lakeside views, as well as a parlor game room with activities for guests to borrow. There are no TVs, no air conditioning, and very limited WiFi. If you are looking for a place to truly unplug and unwind with your family and friends, you will find it here.
Cottage 18 is entered through its shaded screened-in front porch into the large living room and kitchen. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom, with one bedroom containing a king bed and the other bedroom containing two twins. Guests who sleep in the king room need to walk through the twin room to use the bathroom. The terrace of Cottage 18 looks out at the fountain and lake beyond. Sleeps 4 people, and has its own gas grill, picnic table, and chaise lounges outside.
The cabin was as expected but very upset that the refrigerator froze all of my fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, etc. Complained at the front desk and really got no response other than they would let the manager know. Also had our boat torn up on the docks due to high winds. Although the resort certainly cannot control the weather, putting bumpers or hanging a tire over the metal poles would have saved us considerable damage. Door was difficult to figure out how to lock and just a simple sign on the back explaining would save trips to the office. Finally no mention in the rental listing about breakfast being included. Brought my own food since I did not know and luckily had breakfast since my eggs and fruit froze and were thrown away.
