This quiet little hamlet of cabins is located on Culhane Lake in the northeastern part of the the upper peninsula close to Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Crisp Point Lighthouse, Little Lake Harbor, Lake Superior, trail 8 snowmobile trail, and many other local attractions.
Although the cabins have been on the property for many years they all have been recently renovated to offer all of the comforts of home yet located completely off the grid.
Offered here is the Charlotte’s cabin which features two bedrooms with queen memory foam beds and one queen sofa sleeper. This cabin sleeps up to 6 people comfortably. It comes furnished with electric service, complete kitchen with gas range/oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, cookware, utensils, silverware, and gas grill.
There is a bathroom with vanity and shower but no indoor toilet. It does have a new, clean, private outhouse just for this cabin. This cabin is tastefully decorated in a northern theme representing the surrounding area. It also has a great view of Culhane Lake from the huge enclosed porch.

Culhane Lake Resort is an off the grid hamlet of four rental cabins that have been recently renovated to offer modern comforts. Because of its remoteness there is no TV or WiFi. There is now limited cell service in our area for calls and texting. Culhane Lake Resort is pet friendly. Up to two pets are allowed in this cabin. All pets must be approved prior to reservation. Please review our pet policy listed below.

Please note that this cabin is powered by solar power so please no electric cooking devices or fans other than those provided. CPAPS are allowed so please feel free to bring you if needed.

This cabin rents from May 1st to October 31st and requires a four night minimum rental.

By booking this reservation guests acknowledge that they have reviewed and agree to the terms of our Vacation Rental Agreement. This is a non-smoking cabin.

Guests are charged a minimal cleaning fee to cover costs of cleaning and sanitation but are still responsible for the following upon departing:
Wash, dry and put away dish ware, utensils, silverware, pots and pans.
Wipe counters, tables and sinks.

Hosts also have a cabin on sight in case you have any questions or concerns.

PETS WE ARE PET FRIENDLY BUT IF YOUR DOG(s) AREN’T 100% FRIENDLY PLEASE DON’T BRING THEM.
Guests are allowed to bring two pets and must be approved prior to booking. Cats must be litter trained. Dogs must be friendly with other guests and their pets, including the hosts dogs and must not bother other guests. We do not allow barkers out of courtesy to other guests. PLEASE DO NOT BRING FEMALES IN SEASON. We do not allow pets to be left unattended in cabins while you are away unless your pet is crate trained and does not bark or howl. If you place a reservation and there is a problem with your dog barking and/or not being friendly then you will be asked to leave and no refunds will be issued.

Most of our guests come here for the quiet solitude and to enjoy nature. For that reason, we ask all guests respect other guests by keeping noise to a minimum before 8am and after 10pm. As a courtesy to guests and host we do not allow check in after 10:00pm.

Due to limited space we do not allow atv’s, motorcycles, or off road vehicles at this property.
We do offer guests free use of sit-on-top kayaks and fishing kayaks here on Culhane Lake.

Families, fisherman, stargazers, hunters, photographers, artists, writers, snowshoers, cross country skiers, snowmobilers, and mushers have been coming to Culhane Lake Resort to escape everyday life, and experience the wild beauty of the Lake Superior’s coastline and the surrounding area for generations - we would love to be your hosts to begin making this experience a tradition of your own!

My mother, aunt and I had a fantastic time vacationing in Charlotte's cabin. We hiked the NCT nearby as well as found amazing Youper stones at Crisp Point Lighthouse. The stars are amazing. The lake is full of wildlife. Steve is a super host who answered many of our questions. Jasmine and Youper the dog were awesome too.

My family enjoyed our stay off the beaten track. The lake was wonderful. We enjoyed the magic of it at all times of the day -- from sunrise to sunset. The loons were amazing to see and hear -- we don't get to experience those where we live. And the kayaks the host has available for guests are a wonderful and fun addition; we took advantage of them every day! The cabin was comfortable and it was fun to experience living off the grid! All-in-all, we had a great stay!

The Culhane Lake Resort was everything we hoped for and more. This was the best vacation my family and I have ever had and this place was a huge part of making it possible. We had an amazing time, the cabin was clean comfortable, and the perfect size for 2 adults, 2 children, and 2 large pups. Steve, Jasmine , and Yuper were the best hosts. It’s beautiful there we fished on the dock everyday, bonfires at night, and the kids were able to swim. There’s little to no cell service which was just fine with us it was perfect to unplug the kiddos didn’t even complain about it once because they enjoyed being there so much. The location is off the beating path but at the same time so convenient to many attractions we did quite a bit but still have more to see when we return. We highly recommend staying here and we will return in the future. Thanks again for everything Steve!

The house was awesome and exactly as described. It was very close to trout streams, the falls, and fishing right in front of the cabin in provided kayaks. All of the cooking essentials were there and Steve was there if we needed anything.. Definitely recommend this to others

One of the best cabins we've stayed at in the area. Close to a small lake superior harbor, lighthouse, and many other attractions.

Owners are very kind and helpful. Make sure to read directions on how to get there. No phone service at all so be prepared ahead of time. Take snap shots of directions and maps. Perfect location between paradise, Newberry, Lake Superior, and tahquamenon falls!!!! Plan to come back in the summer!!?

First trip to the UP and it was amazing! There was an issue with VRBO and Steve came to the rescue with a solution! Loved the property and the cabin. The worst part was packing up to leave and those pesky mosquitoes and flies lol. Can't wait to stay again and again! Thanks!
