Description

Located 80 feet from Lake Superior’s beach, Cottage #2 provides the gentle sound of breaking waves hitting the shore. There is a spectacular overall open view of Superior amidst small aspens. Only walking paths, natural vegetation, and rocks separate you from the water. A stairway provides easy access to the 540ft of rocky beach. In front of Cottage #2 is a fire circle with comfortable seating and a charcoal grill. The front bedroom features a queen bed, a romantic gas stove, and a lakeside patio door. The living room has a decorative gas stove and a picture window looking out upon the lake. It is furnished with a plush futon, 2 wingback chairs, a smart TV with access to the internet (no broadcast TV), a DVD player, and a dinette set. The rear of the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a full-size bed. This four-season cottage is open all year and has wireless internet access. An artesian well provides excellent water for drinking. Cottage #2 sleeps up to 6 people (2 on the futon) with all linens provided.

Rates and Policies:•
• We have a 2-night minimum stay on weekends and a 3-night minimum stay on holidays and special events.
• We have no cleaning fee. We do, however, charge for extra guests.
• As a host, we pay a 5% commission to Vrbo to use their platform. This is included in your pricing details and will not show up as a separate charge.
• As a guest, you pay a 6-12% service fee to Vrbo to use their platform. This is included in your pricing details and will not show up as a separate charge.
• When you complete making your reservation, you will be charged separately by Vrbo for your service fee and by us for your booking deposit.
• We are required to collect and remit 12.375% in state and local sales taxes on your booking amount. Vrbo is required to collect and remit 8.375% in state and local taxes on your service fee. These will show up as taxes in your price details.
• The remaining balance for your booking is due to us at check-in. We accept the major credit cards, checks, and cash.
• If you must cancel your reservation and are due a refund according to Vrbo's cancellation policy, we charge a $25 cancellation fee.

Cottage #2 is one of 8 vacation rentals at Croftville Road Cottages. There are 3 cottages plus the inn with 5 vacation suites, an office, and owners quarters. Croftville Road Cottages is owned and operated by Teresa and Mike Chmelik who live on-site. The inviting and romantic cottages and suites are impeccably clean and meticulously maintained. Croftville Road Cottages offers an experience reminiscent of days past when small mom and pop resorts were found all along the North Shore. However, the cozy cottages and luxurious inn suites are among the finest vacation rentals along Lake Superior. Croftville Road Cottages is conveniently located just 3 miles from downtown Grand Marais on the lakeside of scenic Croftville Road known by locals as the walking road.

This place was incredibly sweet and a perfect spot for our family to end our North Shore vacation. Very old-school and absolutely charming. Rooms were tidy and very welcoming. Loved the quilts on the beds, the wonderful kitchen, cozy living room, and the incredible views of the lake. We will be returning next summer!

I had a nice stay here. The cabins were cozy and had a full kitchen. It had a nice view of Lake Superior as well. The only downsides were one of the bedrooms didn't have a heat source and the bathroom just a had a small shower. But that wasn't a concern for me. Grand Marais is a short drive away.

My husband and I spent a week traveling along the North Shore this fall, and we loved this property best of all the places we stayed. We loved the quiet seclusion, the cozy cottage, and hearing the waves of Lake Superior right outside our door. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and gas fireplace places. Such a relaxing ambience.

My husband and I loved staying here for a week!! It was just what we were looking for; quiet, simple and cozy. The cottage has everything you need, just bring food. Wonderful view of Lake Superior, loved listening to the crashing waves. Perfect place for a stress free getaway:)
