Escape to tranquility in this light-filled, newly remodeled one-bedroom guesthouse apartment on a grand old half-acre Spanish estate. Centrally located in Pasadena with easy freeway access, enter another world as you step under the estate’s redwood, palm, and magnolia trees. Take the stairs to the apartment under a hundred-year-old olive tree. Enjoy the view from the sundeck, and dream away some hours on a hammock in the bamboo grove next to a fish pond, while listening to birds sing.r>The 412 square foot apartment is in its own building, separate from the estate’s main house. It is up one flight of stairs on the top floor of a two storey building. A hundred-year-old olive tree provides shade and privacy and just steps from your door, you will have your own little bamboo mini-forest nook to yourself.

The living room extends out to a spacious sundeck with a view of the San Gabriel mountains. There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and sink. There is hi-speed wifi and a TV with over a dozen Spectrum TV channels including major networks, sports, kids, and audio music stations. The Roku stick also offers the additional option to stream your own Netflix, Hulu, Sling, or other subscriptions. A hairdryer, iron, and ironing board are provided, as well as basic toiletries. Laundry facilities are available upon request.
Please note: we have a strict NO SMOKING rule.

The apartment has one bedroom with a small attached bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed has a brand new Serta plush queen size mattress to accommodate up to two guests. The living room sofa pulls out into a queen-sized bed that can accommodate two guests.

*We are located within walking distance of the end of the route for the famed Pasadena Rose Parade as well as the post-parade float viewing. The Rose Parade is held every January 1st (unless January 1st falls on a Sunday, in which case, the parade is on Monday, January 2nd). The float viewing is held immediately after the parade ends and into the following day.

We do provide off-street parking in our driveway to guests. The parking area is on our property, outside of our gates. Please note that it is a fairly narrow driveway suitable for average-sized cars but a tight squeeze for larger than average vehicles such as oversized trucks.

* We have a very friendly basset hound on the premises who loves to interact with guests.

While guests are welcome to explore the west side of the estate which has a forest-like setting with a secluded bamboo grove, a fish pond, and many trees and plants, the east side of the estate is reserved for host's personal use. However, should guests need anything, host is easily reachable by text or phone call.

Guests with young children should be aware that the 2-ft deep fish pond is not fenced. Additionally, host’s personal side of the estate includes an ungated pool.

The pastries and homemade jams were a nice touch. The owner is very nice and they have a sweet pup. We were comfortable and enjoyed the view from the balcony.

Being our third time here it continues to provide a homey, peaceful return. It is a charming, hip little home in the 2nd level …. with the birds chirping. Our hosts are friendly but leave us alone. The bedroom, bath, living room, dining room is plenty. The kitchen has a set of patio doors that lead you out on a lovely deck/,perch. The dining table has a lovely bowl of fresh pastures. Perhaps we’re momentarily in Paris?

The hosts went over and above to make us feel welcome. The unit is so charming and the setting is gorgeous. The listing noted that it was convenient to the end of the Rose Parade, which was our reason for booking. It was an easy walk to the parade and to the Float Fest location.

The apartment was really well set up for visitors. E.g., well provided with everything we needed (or might have needed), with clear instructions. It turned out to be the perfect place for us. We have more Pasadena visits in the future, and will definitely be back. Thanks!

Husband and daughter stayed four days. They honestly paid compliments day and night about this absolutely beautiful place. Lovely South of France accent’s every where, down to croissants and homemade preserves and freshly ground coffee! Luscious peaceful gardens and patio enjoyed coffee in mornings. Malabar even paid a visit which tummy rubs were cheerfully given. Beds were so comfortable. All communication was excellent. Highly recommended, will definitely stay here again. To amazing hosts: à votre santé

The rental was in a beautiful, idyllic garden that won over our hearts from the very beginning. The stay was comfortable and the croissants we were gifted upon arrival were delicious! Smoke-free facility so that was a huge plus! Oh and the adorable basset hound, Malabar (sp?) was an absolute delight! Wonderful hosts in a wonderful city!

The guesthouse apartment was cozy and included all we needed for a comfortable stay. The mature trees and garden setting were most welcome and lovely when lit up at night. And we very much appreciated the French pastries, homemade preserves, and coffee each day...thank you Ailin and Herve!

I had a very easy and lovely stay in this beautiful place! The setting is gorgeous--lots of beautiful trees and flowers. I especially loved hearing the birds sing every morning. There were lots of great amenities, like French pastries (!!) and an adorable sundeck. Check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier. I had everything I needed and then some. Will definitely book again. Thank you!!

From the first in-person welcome, to the garden surroundings with the playful canine, settling in during 100 degree heat was effortless. The waiting breakfast pastries and homemade jams(confitures) were a singular treat. Just regret that the 100+ degree temps limited time spent on the rental's patio with the mountain views!
