We had a nice stay here. The casita was roomy and comfortable, and we slept well. The property is close to Madrid and its restaurants. One note: When the booking says “Breakfast Included”, that means that the hosts leave some eggs in the refrigerator for you to cook for yourselves.

First of all, getting to the property is challenging. There is about 1/2 mile of rough, unmaintained road. The casita is dark and had a dark feeling.. I went to make breakfast, drawers and cupboards difficult to open, cooking utensils were sparse. I booked the casitas for 4 days, I left after just one night, had breakfast in Santa Fe.. and moved on.

A well-loved and beautifully maintained property. Kind and generous hosts. Cerrillos is a special place and this spot is a gem. You will leave inspired to live life with more intention and expression. My 2.5 year old son had a ball here, and it was the perfect place for us to unwind from travel and city life.

This place was the highlight of our stay. Everything was exactly as described and more. The property itself was gorgeous and uniquely whimsical and creative. The hosts were incredibly kind and gave great suggestions on local restaurants and things to do. There is a hot tub that we enjoyed under the stars & several garden areas to relax. I also loved seeing “Mr.Darcy” the dog. Will definitely be staying again.

Leaves a lot to be desired.!!!! Hot tub was cloudy and full of insects!!! The tub was about 200 yards or more from the so called casita. The path was unkept dirt path and unlit very dark. The scenic views were of a hill with sage brush. The drit paths were unkept and dark. There are old run down buildings on the property. There was suppose to be milk, eggs, bread for breakfast, the fridge was empty. If you want to get dinner you have to drive to Santa Fe. Which is 34 minutes from the place. The nearest town is Madrid and everything closes at 4pm!!! The road up to the place is not maintained and very narrow and dark .There is no TV. And the casita is more like a old studio apartment. The bed was hard and crickety. No privacy!!! The porch to casita porch faces the main house windows and is right in front of the dirt parking. The Cerrillos town looks abandoned and run down and everything was closed. The whole property looks very run down. I recommend staying in Santa Fe. You get more for your dollar. The worst place ever!!!!! No GPS sent host message for maybe help with directions and was told to pretty much find wifi and download map. Didn't mention in the instructions that you would have no GPS at a certain point.

This spot was magical to me. The casita was adorable and cozy. The grounds were just gorgeous. I really enjoyed walking around seeing the beautiful rockscapes, plants, art, and birds. It's a great spot to do a little birding. So much work has been put into this beautiful property and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The town of Cerrillos is charming too. Wish I could have stayed longer, would definitely go again.

Overall, this was a decent stay with a few operational gaps worth noting. The property itself matched the rustic description—simple, a bit worn, but clean and generally well-maintained. If you’re expecting upscale finishes, this isn’t that—but for a laid-back, no-frills stay, it works. However, there were a couple of misses that impacted the experience. Breakfast was listed as an included amenity but was not provided during our stay. Additionally, we were provided only half of a roll of toilet paper and had to contact the host, who then directed us to retrieve more from a storage shed. While the issue was ultimately resolved, it’s not something guests should have to manage themselves—basic supplies should be proactively stocked and easily accessible.Bottom line: a clean, rustic place that meets the basics, but the listing accuracy and attention to guest readiness could use improvement.

The place was pretty and clean. My only complaint is that you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet, you have to put them in a trash can. And the toilet didn’t flush great. This made me not want to do my heavier business…if you catch my drift. If I would have known this I would have booked a different property. If I was staying at somewhere significantly cheaper- I would not complain.

Whichever airport you fly into will force you to drive the Turquoise Trail to get here and will treat you to the beautiful New Mexico landscape. FYI, there is another house nearby on the property which can be confusing if you first get in after dark, but this property is detached.

No place to put luggage or unpack clothes. No place to hang clothes. Bathroom and shower unsanitary and subpar. Basically a miserable place to stay. VERY DISAPPOINTED in VRBO. The property was easy to find and was rustic as advertised. However, there was absolutely NO food for breakfast as promised in the description. And the kitchen was very poorly equipped. We also could not connect to the WiFi, there was no cell phone service, and the owners were nowhere to be found, The entire time of our stay and we couldn't call them to ask how to get on the WiFi. I loved the adventure of staying in an old adobe building using the wood burning stove to heat (the heated mattress pad helped too). Coffee is made on the stove, the old fashioned way.Unfortunately the internet was out when we arrived and without cell service we were forced to go to a nearby town (Madrid) to connect with the people we were working with. It did come back on later, but was off and on. This put my husband in a foul mood, but I take responsibility for this as the hosts are very clear about this being a place to cut yourself off from the world, and I didn’t prepare him for this. Just make sure you don’t have any critical communication needs during your stay. The included breakfast fixings were kind of lacking…. Some eggs, a little milk/cream and a few pieces of what looked like old fruit were in the fridge. Overall, I enjoyed the place but think of it like you might a camping trip, where you are there to experience the unique surroundings and slower pace of life.

The house was cute and cozy. The front door could use some additional available covering for privacy. I live in a RV full time so i use the RV toilet paper which breaks down in water and is super easy on septic systems. Something you might look into, we were not too keen on putting toilet paper waste into the trash can next to the toilet. But overall a good experience!!

The property was not a good fit for us so we were not able to stay for our 2 night reservation. We notified the owner when we saw the property was not going to work out for us. We did not mind paying for one night but did not feel like a refund for the second night was not an unreasonable request which the owner denied. The property is very pretty and the views remarkable as stated in description. The walkways are mainly gravel for those who might have challenges with uneven surfaces. That was the main reason we could not stay as we felt that would be an issue with us,especially in the evening and the lack of lighting on the path to the gardens and hot tub.
