Stayed Jun 4, 2026Beware-the outside is nice, that's where it stops. The first issue was having to reach out to the host to ask how to access the property. It wasn't apparent in the check-in email if there was a code or where to find a key. Their response was snippy and rude- use the key on the hook inside the screen door, put it in the lock and turn- the door will open. When contacting the host before posting this review, they blamed VRBO or being booked back-to-back, never took any personal responsibility for the conditions. The next-the listing (which should be changed now) stated it was wheelchair accessible and we had an older person in a wheelchair, so we booked. It was definitely not. The place felt un-clean from the moment we walked in, even the welcome binder was dirty and seemed out of date. The next thing that took us aback was being told to make sure to keep our food in sealed containers, supposedly available for us, so mice an ants would not get into them. There were no containers, but definitely mice- I saw them stealing my dog's food from her dish. All rugs in the house were slippery and unsafe. The floors felt grimy and the rug in the living room was filthy and obviously soiled from past pet accidents. When I moved it for safety, it was obvious it has not be cleaned under in a while. The kitchen was also grimy and there was lots of left over condiment-type items from past guests in the fridge and cupboard, most had expired months ago, some up to a year ago!

Stayed May 24, 2026ProsThey fixed the broken toilet the next morning. They mowed the overgrown island when I couldn't locate the firepit. They brought distilled water to us, which was very kind. The bed we slept in was decent.5gal culligan jugs were there to use, as the water is not potable.ConsThere is still missing siding from years ago. We saw mice each night... inside. The toilet was broken upon arrival. You can't use the oven unless you bring your own baking sheets and pans or maybe you can get away with the broiling tray? You can't do laundry with this water; the washer, tub, and toilet are all completely rust stained and your clothes would be too. We ended up buying clothes because we could not wash our clothes. All they need is a filtration system, but it is abundantly clear they aren't putting anything into the home. Which is a shame at 1500/week to rent. Every single thing in the home seems to be the cheapest possible solution; the counters peeling off, the window privacy decals are falling off, there's a whole in the floor. The firepit we saw was along the 55mph highway in front of the her employees trailer, and the landlord claimed ignorance to it's location, but stocked it with wood. We didn't want to hang out with her employee, nor sit along a 55mph road. And I'm not a city slicker expecting fancy things, just clean, functional, and as advertised.

Stayed Dec 25, 2025Unresponsive host that I cannot recommend based on our visit. The heat was unreliable in bitter temps and there was luke warm water. We are very disappointed. The maintenance manager agreed that thermostat wasn’t working like normal but the host was not reasonable, responsive, compassionate or understanding of health safety issues at all! We had no choice but to leave the next day because the host did not offer any solutions for the unreliability of the heat and hot water issues in frigid temperatures. She was surprisingly unwilling to offer any refund to us to compensate the remaining days of our trip. We were there to celebrate Christmas and visit our daughters for the holidays. We’ve never had such a bad experience through Vrbo. Be careful if you choose to stay here. We strongly do not recommend it.

Stayed Oct 2, 2025While the country location was peaceful and the house had all the required amenities for a family weekend, we felt this house was a bit misrepresented. The outdoor property was not usable for the kids due to overgrown grass and poison ivy. The largest issue was that the house was very grimy. We are a shoes off family, we left our shoes on. It is a small step above cabin camping. The iron in the well water was pretty bad as well. This is a good house for a group with pets, who don’t want to camp, but I don’t think it’s worth the price we paid. And I would not recommend it for young families due to the dirtiness. There were crumbs on the counter, a filthy sponge left in the sink, grease all over the dishes in the cupboard, other people’s hair in the bathroom, I could go on. One benefit of not wanting to spend too much time in the house, was we thoroughly explored all that this amazing area has to offer.

Stayed Aug 20, 2025Basic house in the country that needs a bit of TLC. On the outside there are rotting window surrounds and cladding, on the inside the floors are not level and rotting? under the lino. But there are some good amenities, gas BBQ, air conditioning, fridge, cooker, washer drier and multiple Tvs,. I can confirm its weather tight after the thunderstorms we had and comfortable to stay in. Although in the countryside its close to things and a good base for exploring the area.

Stayed Aug 7, 2025For us it was a perfectly pleasant rural retreat offering quick access to waterfalls, wineries, and the many attractions, stores and restaurants of Ithaca. The price was exceptional without added fees for pets and cleaning. The bedding and towels were clean. The kitchen is pretty well supplied including a jug water dispenser. We found the place very homey, well laid out, with most everything we needed for a stress-free stay. The whole house AC was great. The king beds were comfortable, not so much the hard twin bed. And it's probably time to update the couch. All in all, a solid place to stay. We recommend Judy's holiday house.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025Host is pleasant and an excellent communicator. Beds are very comfortable. The house is not level and slants in some areas, like the bathroom, which brought on vertigo in one of my guests. Other than that, the location, the cost and the ability to bring our dog made our stay worthwhile. Thank you.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025This is a comfortable house for a visit to the area. It is in a country setting, , between Cauyuga and Seneca Lakes, few miles outside of Ithica. Everything was within a 30 minute drive or less. Large yard, stream, island, lightening bugs and deer!

Stayed May 25, 2025The location was perfect for visiting family in the area but we were disappointed with the cleanliness when we arrived. We’re very understanding that bugs do get inside, especially being out in the country but the amount of cobwebs, spiders and ants found was quite surprising to say the least. When we arrived in the evening we found crumbs on the counter around the toaster along with ants. We also went around with a broom to knock down the dozens of cobwebs and get rid of the spiders which isn’t something I expected to do when staying at a Vrbo. The appliances (specifically the freezer and toaster) were dirty and haven’t been cleaned in sometime. The island and property outside in general was overgrown and not maintained so we weren’t able to enjoy any of it. Overall, just very disappointed to pay the amount of money we did to stay at a place that didn’t seem to care about their guests staying. Unfortunately, since everything was already paid for and we had no other options for accommodations we decided to stick it out for the 3 nights we were there but have no plans to return.
