A very romantic space! The perfect atmosphere for the writer or artist. The large, open great room is inviting for yoga and exercise practice. A former church, this renovation has maintained a peaceful and meditative quality.A good place to make or listen to music. .Small back porch with a table and chairs.,Dogs are very welcome and the back porch area has a fenced in area they seem to like!!!!.Pretty bathroom with shower. The kitchen counter was once the counter in the old country store in the village of Lawsonham. The woodwork is beautiful and the high ceilings give one the feeling of freedom .The many windows invite the outside in. Come and rest a while, create, enjoy! So very close to the Lawsonham Rails to Trails entrance.Great opportunity for hiking and bicycling.!

We had a wonderful stay! The hostess has so many amenities that made our stay so easy and convenient. We had a minor issue with the shower knob but they fixed it IMMEDIATELY and were so sweet. It’s such a beautiful property! We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch and walking the mowed paths. I highly recommend this property and host.

Rosemary and her spot are delightful. She was welcoming and kind and the cottage is just delightful. Ive stayed here before and I'll stay here in the future. Honestly i couldn't imagine a more perfect escape from the city.

The Host Mary was very accommodating and very easy to deal with. She welcomed my Standard Poodles!! We loved the location and the beautiful serenity of the environment. We found everything we needed. Wifi worked great, some phone service doesn't work, but I didn't mind the break!! I would stay there again.

We had a great stay here! Only two FYIs for those traveling here: 1. There is no cell service and wifi is iffy. It wasn’t an issue for us, but if you need to be able to contact others/be contacted during your stay, this may not be the place for you. 2. We traveled here with our 18 month. The ceiling is beautiful and to preserve them, the walls between the rooms do not go all the way to the ceiling. Simply because we did not want to go to bed at 7:30pm with our toddler, we put her pack and play in the bathroom. Again, not a big issue for us, just took some flexibility and creativity! Overall though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I needed to get away from the stress of work and the city and this place helped restored our spirits. This cool renovated former church oozes charm with an added bonus of having a long and fascinating history. Check in was very easy and the host Mary could not have been more nicer and accommodating! We enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely stay again. It’s peaceful and quiet with plenty of privacy and there is a town that’s very close by. There is also access to a hiking/walking trail one minute down the road. We took a 3 hour walk and it was very serene. We even saw 4 turkey vultures flying around which was cool to see. Overall we recommend this place if you need a peaceful quiet getaway where you can surround yourself with nature while staying in a fascinating historical former church.

Great place to stay. The church is beautiful. Secluded and relaxing but also close to trails and a river. Also pet friendly. Our two dogs loved it.

Great space. Outside was quiet relaxing. We saw a bear our first night, then deer and bunnies. The stars were beautiful and lightening bugs were in full affect. Inside provided a cool atmosphere and was welcoming. Beautiful renovation!

Great stay! Well furnished, close to some great hiking. I also appreciated how private the space is. It really was a restful, slow couple of days. The owner is friendly and approachable, but not intrusive.

This amazing place was exactly what I needed. I had a long weekend silent solo retreat and all I did was play with all my neglected art supplies. It was a beautiful and peaceful place and I'm so glad I found it. I am looking forward to coming back.

We love staying in this church! It’s great for a long weekend. We cook, we hike, we laugh, we solve puzzles! And we refresh. I can’t say enough about this place! We love it!

We were intrigued by the restoration and architecture which prompted our stay. Very disappointed by the cleanliness, discomfort of furniture/beds, and insufficient AC that didn't cool to a comfortable level to allow for restful sleep. Listing doesn't mention that the two bedrooms are without ceilings, just a wall divider between them. It also doesn't show or mention the extensive amount of large religious statues and memorabilia that are in your face during the stay. It is very noisy with constant loud traffic all night long on the highway that is 10ft from the building, very disruptive. The host; Mary called the landline phone multiple times daily starting at 9 am during our stay. The WiFi is worthless/unusable and shouldn't be included as an amenity! Not a serene or peaceful stay at all and we actually departed more exhausted than when we arrived!
