Stayed Apr 2, 2026We loved our stay at the Wayside - Emiko and Doreen really looked after us in what felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect if you’re looking for a quieter part of the Lakes, but also not difficult to get to. The whole building and rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully put together and in immaculate condition. We were really impressed with the attention and care given to all the guests and loved the breakfast (homemade bread and beans!). We are looking forward to coming again.

Stayed Nov 14, 2025My wife and I had dinner there on Friday — our second visit — and it was another relaxed, enjoyable experience. The staff are friendly and genuinely keen to chat, which adds to the atmosphere. The food was delicious, and there’s an excellent selection of beers, wines, and, of course, whisky. We love going there and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed Oct 22, 2025Breath-taking location & views to Black Combe & coast & beaches. Greenway from back door to Black Combe, near England Coast Path, Ravenglass, Eskdale valley, Boot. Well appointed bathroom, great bed linen in a spacious bedroom, easy chairs around the fireplace in the lounge/dining area. Full bar, enormous range of whiskeys, delicious dinners, breakfasts & packed lunches.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff, they suggested another good place to eat but dinner there was also great, I had the salmon, my wife had the curry, both very tasty and nicely presented.
