The Folly is conveniently located to downtown Carmel, the Carmel Mission, the Mission Ranch restaurant and just a brief walk to the Mission Trails Park, or perhaps even a longer (but enjoyable!) walk around the coast via the Meadows Trail to Point Lobos State Park. Built in 1965 by the owners, it is a one-of-a-kind custom-built open beam post adobe cabin offering an open floor plan (split level). The upper level is the bedroom and bathroom, which overlooks the lower level of the living room

Stayed Dec 24, 2025Curt was an excellent host. Very attentive. The power in town was out for much of the trip but there was a backup generator. Very cute and cozy cottage.

Stayed Oct 11, 2025What a great place and location...The Folly is very cozy with a very rustic feel,with lots of Antiques..Curt the owner and host is a wonderful guy and very helpful.Electric gate with remote to park,which is great if like us you have a dog as its all fenced and very secure..Right across the street is the Mission which is well worth the visit and just a five minute walk to the famous Mission Restaurant..Will be definitely be staying here again.

Stayed Jul 24, 2025Pros: Great location. Near the beach, Carmel Main Street, shopping, trails, Monterey and 17 mile drive. Owner is very responsive..excellent communications. Offered to assist us in any way Great fenced front yard, excellent if you have pets. We had dogs and they enjoyed the yard immensely Cons:Double bed…although very comfortable it is small. The air in the house was musty and stale when we arrived. We kept windows open and fan in living area going the entire time and it seemed to help air out the place We enjoyed our stay. Took evening strolls at Mission Trail Park every evening with the dogs and hiked a short trail at Garland Ranch Regional Park

Stayed Jul 4, 2025Wonderful, highly recommend! My husband and I, along with our daughter and small dog, stayed at Carmel Cozy Cottage for 2 nights. The cottage itself is so warm and unique in character, with an enclosed front yard for our dog. We walked to the Mission Trail Park, and took a short drive to the village of Carmel and the beautiful shoreline. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025Overall, nice stay at convenient location. The host, Curt, is nice, welcoming, and fast email response. He lives on premise. I deduced 1 star since there could be room for improvement. There was blanket and sheets folded, but had hair all over it. Bathroom lacked TP after the hanging roll was over. There was used shampoo bottles, samples from hotels. Frig had bottle of used wine. Hope the future has improvements.

Stayed Aug 14, 2024It’s an open plan, I slept in the sofa bed, no sofa bed is comfortable ever. It is “walking distance to everything” if you like to hike. Otherwise a beautiful setting and close to town
