Bed + Bauhaus at Yallingup offers guests two well-designed and beautifully crafted suites finished in a contemporary Scandinavian design style that is refreshingly different. Each suite has a queen bed with en-suite; designed for use by a couple or a single traveller exploring the local area, attending an event or simply escaping the city.

Please note: Price shown is per suite for 2 adults maximum. For 3 or 4 adults both suites will be required, each will be at the rate shown.

Bed + Bauhaus combines convenience - ideal short-stay accommodation in the center of this vibrant holiday region - with comfort and a modern city studio apartment feel. The open-plan layout and ceilings up to 3m create a sense of spaciousness, light and air, complete with furniture that is both functional and inspiring. Material finishes (and cleaning products) are environmentally responsible and eco-friendly (e.g. VOC free), providing a hygenic, healthy indoor environment.

The property has been designed to take advantage of the views looking west over Millbrook Valley towards Yallingup, with floor to ceiling glass opening onto a lawns both sides; on the west towards magnificent sunsets, and to the east side for sunrise. The passive-solar construction ensures maximum thermal comfort, with double glazing, cross-ventilation window positioning, superior insulation, fans and concrete floors for thermal mass. Each suite has a reverse-cycle air conditioner for fine-tuning temperature to individual guest preferences.

The guest suites are located in a separate wing of an architectural complex incorporating living quarters, design studio and a large workshop - a project documented as 'Maison de Cour Yallingup - an Australian courtyard house'. This prototype building attracted the interest of Grand Designs Australia as the first WA project for the series, until the construction schedule extended beyond filming deadlines; the single task of recycling and dressing jarrah for the 60 windows alone took 3 months!

Bed + Bauhaus welcomes all types of guests - professionals on business trips, academics/students on research/writing retreats, short-break travelers from Perth or interstate visiting family or friends, and overseas tourists. This is the right place to stay for anyone who is inspired by design, motivated by creativity and seeks healthy lifestyle choices.

Stay Simply: Simply Stay

In creating the visitor experience at Bed + Bauhaus we sought a fresh approach to temporary accommodation and found it in the roots of the Scandinavian design movement. Characterized by simplicity and minimalism, it evolved from a desire to enhance the quality of life through appropriate and affordable products and technology. Scandinavian designers sought an optimum balance between the practical (form, function, resources) and the emotional or 'hygge' (comfort, well-being, joy), an approach reflected at Bed + Bauhaus.

We offer simplicity - uncluttered space and exceptional comfort while meeting your fundamental travel needs. Each 45sq.m. suite provides for your:

Sleep:
Queen sized bed, superior mattress with plush mattress topper; quality bedding and linen – 1000 thread count cotton sheets; selection of pillows, bolsters and cushions to meet individual preferences; ceiling fans and a/c (blanket, rugs and hottie added in winter)

Relaxation:
Plenty of glass for light, views and access to outdoor seating; leather reclining armchairs (rocking); leather desk/table chairs; reading material (novels, design magazines) and TV; peace and quiet - unwind and recharge, or work undisturbed

Getting organized:
Table/desk and other surfaces to spread out; storage unit with spare boxes, containers and shelf areas for your use; information to help you navigate the region and follow your interests; cafe-style note board and markers, pads, pens

Feeling secure + healthy:
Crimsafe screens on windows and doors (fresh air inside, insects outside!); eco-friendly laundering and cleaning - no harsh chemicals; natural bathroom products (selection of cruelty-free, organic soap + shampoo); owners are on site (work from home studio) if required but respect your privacy

Refuelling:
Essential supplies - a selection of teas (loose leaf, bags) and coffee (Nespresso machine pods, Aeropress + beans, coffee bags), chai, hot chocolate, milk and sugar, home-made museli bars (Bauhaus Bites); grab and go packs (Bauhaus Nosebags) available on request, choices $6-10 (muesli, local breads, jam, honey, butter); fridge, toaster, cheese board, crockery and cutlery - picnic on local produce

Staying in touch:
Wifi +mobile phone - coverage/reception varies but usually good; Dunsborough, Yallingup, Margaret River and Busselton all easy drive for meet-ups

Near + (not so) far:
Bed+ Bauhaus is located on 3.5 acres in Yallingup's picturesque Millbrook Valley. Near - Under 5 minutes drive to Little Fish, Smith's Beach, Goanna Cafe... Nearby - Drive 5 to 10 minutes to reach Yallingup, Dunsborough, Injinup Beach, numerous galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries... Not so far - Margaret River and Busselton are a very enjoyable 25-30 minute drive, with lots to see and do on the way... Further - Augusta would take just over an hour to drive south on leafy Cave's Road.

You might wonder why there are no cooking facilities For safety, health, hygiene, to maintain an odor-free/allergy-free environment, we do not permit cooking in the suites. While we are happy to make up nosebags, we encourage you to explore all the wonderful local eateries, fine producers at farmers markets, and delightful places (beach and forest) to picnic! Our state-of-the-art Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) is home to waste digesting enzymes that hate fats and oils, anti-bacterial soaps, chemicals and all mainstream types of toilet paper (polymer glue). We like to keep them happy so they efficiently process all wastewater, while you enjoy a break from cooking and take your taste buds on an adventure.

Small print: Non-smoking on property, refundable bond, not suitable for children or 'leavers', no pets, max. 2 adults per suite. Cancellation policies apply. Please review Terms and Conditions on our website.

I've stayed in many locations throughout the South West over the last few years, and this one has to be the best. The accommodation was really comfortable and well thought out. The view was unforgettable. Checking in and out was very easy. I will certainly be back.

We had such a relaxing stay for a winter break, it's not too far from restaurants but far enough removed that you can escape, the perfect base for a foodie long weekend! Everything we needed was there and our host was very responsive.
