Fantastic! This is the place to stay if you want to relax in a peaceful, quiet location. The walk to St. Austell is a lovely stroll and the town offers many restaurants. If you like Chinese food, Watermargin Restaurant is excellent. It is easy to catch a bus to the List Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. Direct train from London Paddington to St. Austell made the journey easy. The host, Sam and Simon are lovely people. All in all a really enjoyable stay.

Lovely cosy retreat, a home from home, well equipped with everything you would need. Central to lots of attractions/places to visit. Booking was seamless and communication with Sam from start to end was great. Have no hesitation in recommending the River Valley Retreat.

Beautifully styled and equipped. Had everything we needed and more. Private grounds and never woken or disturbed by anyone or anything. Sam and Simon have got this spot on.

This was place is as outlined in the pictures. Spotlessly clean, very modern and everything seems brand new and out of the box. The place isn’t the largest but doesn’t have to be any bigger as whoever designed it did so fantastically using ever inch to its full potential. We stayed early Sept and it can get cold of an evening however we had the use of the heating which we didn’t use. Excellent, fantastic, 100% would book again if Sam would have us!
