Stayed Jun 8, 2019Love Love Love Marie and Mark, they are super friendly and very welcoming. They gave us lots of tips on where to eat and explore in the area. Mark and Chuck even had a guitar jam session one afternoon! The Casita was clean and well appointed, the bed was extremely comfortable and the pool was awesome, just steps from our door. That’s where we spent the majority of our time there. Our goal was to relax and distress and that’s exactly what we did. As much as we enjoyed our stay, it’s important to me to give a total and complete review of our time in Panama. The advertisement for this unit is a bit of a stretch compared to the actual casita: - “steps from the Coronado Beach Club” more of a drive than steps - “steps from the Pacific Ocean”, you actually have to walk a ways down the road and then down a cut off to reach the beach which is completely under water twice a day (check the tide schedule before you go). - Advertises a range and stove but what is actually there is a toaster oven and a small plug in two burner unit. - “gym” we never saw any gym or gym equipment The photos show a grilling/eating/bar area that is actually only for the use of the owners, if you want to grill, they point out a grill that is down a hall on the side of the house and not a lovely area to use or eat in. It’s sort of…one side of the pool area is for guests and the other side is for the owners. The 2nd day we were there, we reported that we had no hot water. Marie had Tony (who is awesome) come in and he fixed it. However, during our entire stay, neither of us could finish even a quick shower without running out of hot water, may need a larger unit? We also reported that the tv/dvd player did not work and that the dishwasher was running water out into the floor. Neither was addressed while we were there. I thought they might bring a tv from one of the unoccupied units (we were the only ones there that week) but they did not, we had to stream tv on my pad although we didn’t watch much tv, just would’ve have been nice in the evenings before bed. We did not have use of the dishwasher the entire time, washed it all by hand to keep from having water in the floor. One thing to mention are the roads in Playa Coronado. The main roads are fine but almost all of the side roads are pretty much dirt tracks. For this casita, you are fine until you turn onto Arco Iris, from there on you are pretty much off-roading. Just an unpleasant driving experience.

Stayed Jan 30, 2019Marie is a very nice and hospitable person. She offers rides to town and includes guests in happy hours or dinners. Her apartments are decorated nice and all the cooking items you might need. Beds are comfortable. When we pulled in our hearts sank and we asked ourselves what did we get ourselves into? The property is under construction so only the back area is per the photos listed. The TV did not work, no cable and no firestick. Spa shower? no hot water for 2 weeks. Advertised ocean view when we rented. NOPE you are in the 4th tier on a bad road. Taxis charge extra. Bus a local workers van that runs till 6 .You can call a taxi with a wait, as they are not allowed in the gated area. Guards check their cars and trunks prior to entering. The beach is unique. The Jewish community owns all front houses with high sea walls. They do not want anything on the beach, therefore, there are no services ie. kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, kite & wind Surfing are available within a 30 minute car ride. No chairs or restaurants. The club she advertises is private You can only walk this beach at lower tides as it comes up to the walls. I asked prior to booking about gym and she told me she had one. It consists of an old exercise bike in the dog kennel. Dishwasher never worked. Reported a problem with the fridge day one, she asked us to try several things which we did and nothing worked. We lost food, never had a cold beer, and she told us to use an outdoor fridge for another apartment. Never offered to pay for lost food. Never called anyone to look at it during our month stay. Bikes, there are none. We asked about renting, she said they are not available in Coronado. Air conditioning...Thankfully a prior guest alerted us to this. she told them it was cool enough with winds and never gave them the remote. I insisted on it. I also turned on other guests air that she did not give a remote to. During our stay we meet 6 wonderful couples who all shared the same experience. We ended up renting a car to get to the advertised services. Paid for a gym membership in town. Needless to say we would have rented elsewhere had we known all the services where not available. Very disappointed that the false advertising is allowed.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a great 2 months in Panama! We stayed in the poolside apartment which was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Marie and Mark were excellent hosts and provided very helpful info on where to visit in Panama. They were very quick to respond to any issue that came up with the rental property when it was brought to their attention. We loved walking on the beach every morning and spent many relaxing hours by the pool which is a great spot. The private quiet location was exactly what we were looking for, we will definitely return.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed two weeks during February. Arrived in Coronado via bus and Marie was there there to pick us up and we where able to purchase groceries before departing for her lovely home. We had selected the suite with the king bed, very comfy, and we were very impressed with the unit. Very clean, tons of room, great bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. We prepared most meals during our stay. This suite had its own patio including a BBQ. We had all of our meals outdoors, no bugs, and there where also lounge chairs and a hammock. The pool was only steps away and this was certainly the heart of the home and where we spent most of our time. Beautiful 45 ft pool with relaxing waterfall, and several lounging areas with plenty of shaded areas if you prefer. Wonderful to finish the evening with a glass of vino and enjoy the evening pool lighting. The large laundry room was much used and appreciated during our stay. The beach is about a 6 minute walk and was a great place for our morning excercise. You could walk for miles. Got pretty hot about 11 so back to the awesome pool. Our hosts Marie and Mark could not have been more helpful. Very knowledgable about the area and Panama in general. We did have a couple of concerns during our stay but these issues where dealt with immediately. We really felt at home here. Mucho Gracias. Would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend this property to others.

Stayed Jan 13, 2017We stayed at this beach getaway for 10 days in January 2017 and it fulfilled our desire for R&R perfectly. Marie and Mark were very good hosts and made us feel very welcomed and at home. We spent the majority of each day just laying by the pool and soaking up the sunshine. The beach was also less than five minutes walk from the casita. The property is well situated in Coronado, a community that is well developed with beautiful homes, plenty of western-style restaurants to choose from, and shopping amenities close by. It was definitely the best community to stay in to enjoy the beautiful beaches in the area. R&A Vancouver, Canada

Stayed Jan 1, 2017Lovely pool and deck area out back w hammock and lounges in the water. Great place to chill. A little rough looking in the front( dirt driveway; yard is for parking, caged dogs.) Shower in my room wasn't working-- no advance notice of this. Was offered outdoor pool shower or to use another guest's bathroom when they were out. Also, no AC in my room; 3 fans helped but weren't enough. Other guest rooms did have AC -- so check before booking.
